Part 66:

Angad looked around impatiently, trying to get a glimpse of Tanya after she had changed into the clothes for the ceremony.  It had been almost an hour since Barkha and Riddhima had pulled her away.  Kartik was looking around with equal impatience for his wife-to-be.

All 5 men, Angad, Kartik, Eijaz, Armaan, and Rahul that is, froze when they saw the four ladies walk down the stairs ever so gracefully.  If looks could kill, all the men present in the ceremony would have died after seeing the most beautiful portrait.  All four women dressed in elegant red lehengas, only mishti's was a bridal lehenga, all had matching jewlery, they indeed looked like quadruplets.  A photographer took a picture of the four at the end of the staircase.  Then Barkha and Tanya pushed Mishti and Kartik together for a couple's picture.  Followed by Armaan-Riddhima, and Eijaz-Barkha.  Even though Eijaz and Barkha weren't married, they were just like a couple.  They weren't planning on getting married anytime soon but loved each other to death.  Rahul thought if taking a "just-friends" picture with Tanya but Mishti and kartik's mind was quicker than his.

Mishti: Hey Tanya!..how about a picture with your love prateek?.

Kripa beamed her million dollars smile and walked up to Angad with an intention of taking prateek from him but instead, Mishti completed her plan by adding the second half.

Mishti: Tanya…ek kaam karo….prateek ke papa ko bhi picture mein rehne do…kyun Angad?

Tanya: Your right Mishti…otherwise I would get fired…

Angad: I'm not crazy enough to fire you!

Tanya smiled and extended her arms for prateek.  Angad handed him to her and took his position right next to her.  He was about to put his arms around her shoulders as it had become a habit now, but then realized what he was about to do.  His hand froze near her shoulder as he debated whether to put his hand on her shoulder or not when Tanya spoke up.

Tanya(whispering): Itna sochne ki jarurat nahi hai…you're my friend…you can keep your arm around me…im not planning to shoot you for that…

Angad smiled at her and smirked to himself as he put his arm around her.  The photographer took the picture as everyone who surrounded them aww-ed.  Rahul didn't like it.  He didn't like it at all.

Rahul: Father-son and a baby sitter.  That's kinda funny….

Angad: correction rahul…..Father-son- and my friend.

Mishti: Rahul…I think you should think twice before you say something…

Rahul: oh come on guys…I was just joking and since when do you guys take my jokes seriously?

Barkha: whenever it hurts someone's feelings…you are a man you probably don't understand but Tanya feels a strong connection with prateek.  Prateek feels bonded with her too and I think its much more than just a "baby-sitter".

Tanya: Guys please!!  Can we not have this argument right now?  Aur galat kya kaha rahul ne?  Aakhir main hoon to Prateek ki baby-sitter na?...Main kuch bhi kar loon….uski maa ki jagah to nahi le sakti main...and seriously...today is not the day to argu…and rahul…eventhough I am just a baby sitter, Angad doesn't consider me one.  He is my friend just like you are…so it doesn't matter to me if you call me "just a baby sitter" or angad's friend….tumhare kuch kehne se reality change nahi hogi…

Kartik: okay okay…save your fights for later….i cant wait another minute….i want to make Mishti my wife…..so if you guys don't mind….can we get married already??

Everyone laughed and approached the mandap.  As the wedding started taking place, Armaan and Eiajz started singing to make the wedding atmosphere.  They were just fooling around and dancing to the dhol beats.  Rahul took this opportunity and walked up to Angad since Tanya wasn't around.

Rahul: Angad…I am sorry about what I said earlier…I didn't mean it…

Angad: Its alright..no hard feelings….

Rahul: no seriously…im really sorry…its just that I didn't like it when Tanya was told to take a picture with you…I was sort of hoping that she would take a picture with me…it got to me today because for quite a few days, I've been trying to let everyone know that I love her…(Angad was stunned to the core)…and it hurts when she doesn't even notice that I exist..

Angad: y...you...l...love...t…t…Tanya?

Rahul: yea…pata nahi kab kahan kaise…bas ho gaya…anyways…sorry once again…

And with that rahul left leaving Angad worried.  He had to do something fast and make Kripa get her memory back, otherwise rahul might do something to get her.  "I'll show him the tattoos", he thought.  He quickly glanced at Tanya when he remembered she was wearing a sleeveless blouse.  To his disappointment, she was wearing and arm band ornament that covered the tattoo.  She always covered it up somehow.  Angad was dying to see that tattoo on her arm.  He knew it was his Kripa but even then, his eyes always ached to see the tattoo.

Armaan and Eijaz pulled Riddhima and Barkha in the center of the hall just before the "mandap", and started dancing.


Angad noticed Tanya standing where she stood as she sang.  She closed her eyes and opened them frequently.  Pressed her temple every now and then.  He knew what was happening to her, but he couldn't do much right now.  Prateek wasn't around either.  She was losing her balance, on the edge of fainting.  Angad got worried and walked up to her without giving it a second thought.  He shook her little holding her shoulders and calling out her name.

Tanya: huh?...what??

Angad: finally…kahan kho gayi ho?..lets go….saat phere ka waqt ho gaya…

Tanya smiled and walked towards Mishti and Kartik while Angad let out a sigh of relief in his mind.  His eyes fell on Rahul who looked at Angad-Tanya not so happily.  Angad shook his head lightly and followed Tanya.  As Mishti and Kartik got up for their very important ritual, everyone showered them with flower petals.  Suddenly, Tanya turned to Angad looking worried.
Tanya: prateek!!...

Angad: huh?

Tanya: prateek kahan hai?

Angad: oh…kartik's chachi has him…don't worry…he didn't cry when she took him…he'll be fine.

Tanya nodded and tried paying attention to the ritual but she wasn't convinced at her heart.  She looked around the hall looking for prateek.  Of course it didn't go unnoticed by Angad.

Angad: Tanya…don't worry….he'll be alright.

He didn't understand that she wasn't going to buy any of his statements right now.  A mother was worrying over her son, end of story.  She walked past Angad and rushed to the lady when she saw prateek in her arms on the verge of tears.  Angad shook her head as he smiled.  All of a sudden, he was tempted to go and kiss her.  He wondered at his own urge and told himself to keep his calm.  At least she was with him, he hadn't lost her.  Angad fell into thoughts.  Thoughts of how to bring her memory back without putting her through danger.
