PART 8:

A week passed by with pretty much the same routine.  Kripa got to know everyone better especially Angad, Kripa would sit with dadi for hours as dadi would tell Kripa about Angad's likes, dislikes, personality, and hobbies.  Kripa discovered that she infact was very similar to him.  They liked the same rock band, they liked the same movie, same career, same favourite colour, same food, the same liking for beautiful scenery.  She was surprised with how much they matched everything.

One night kripa walked into her bedroom and realized Angad was in the bathroom.  She saw that he had set his pillow and blanket on the couch already.  Kripa went and picked it up and came back to the bed.  Angad walked out and didn't see his pillow on the couch.  he looked around and found it sitting on the bed beside Kripa.  he went to pick it up when Kripa spoke.

Kripa: leave it here.  You can sleep here Angad.

Angad: what?

Kripa: yea...i mean...we are going to be living together for the rest of our life...we might as well get used to being close either mentally or physically... and trust me..i would never tell you sleep on the same bed as me if i didn't trust you...but i trust you...you are one of the best guys i've met in my entire life...you are not going to sleep on the couch anymore...and if you have a problem with us sleeping on the same bed...i will go and sleep on the couch..not you..

Angad:  I would sleep here on the bed but i don't want to make you feel uncomfortable....its only been a week since our wedding..

Kripa: I know that.....a week...it takes about 10 seconds to recognize a person..and i've heard stories about you from bhai...anyways...you better go to sleep...you have to go pick up your sister...i will just go and change.

By the time kripa was out of the washroom, Angad was sleeping dead.  Kripa quietly got into the bed beside him and went to sleep.

Next morning when she woke up, She found the bed empty.  She looked around to find angad but he wasn't there.  She checked the clock which read 7:45.  She quickly got up and took her shower.

Angad on the other hand, was waiting for his sister at the airport.  When she appeared out of the crowd, he smiled ear to ear.  Aliyah ran to him and threw herself around him.

Aliyah: BHAI!!!!!!  How are you??  Oh my god...its so good to see you...where is my bhabhi?...And what the hell bhai?  you got married without me being present..

Angad: sorry sister...but i had to..dadi got her second attack and she..

Aliyah: dadi got her second attack and no one told me about it?

Angad: we didn't want you to worry allu...anyways..lets go home...we'll talk in the car.

Angad pushed aliyah's laugage cart to his car.  Both loaded the laugage and got into the car.

Aliyah: bhabhi nahi ayi?

Angad: woh actually so rahi thi....i didn't want to wake her up...

Aliyah: Kya naam Hai?

Angad: jab milo to pata kar lena..

Aliyah: dikhne mein kaisi hai?

Angad: jab milo to dekh lena..

Aliyah: oh c'mon bhai...atleast tell me how she is....

Angad: Jab milo to decide kar lena...

Aliyah: bhai!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angad: ok..lets see...its been only a week but so far...i have concluded that she is really quiet.  Very organized, studies medicine, is very outgoing...i still can't believe how close she has become with dadi and mom.  Dad already loves her like his own daughter..

Aliyah: what about you?...is she getting along with you?

Angad: yeah...we actually made a deal that we will be husband-wife outside for others but the relationship between us is of friendship.  It was way too awkward for both of us..the whole husband-wife thing...so yea....

Aliyah: hm...she seems nice...but what if i don't like her bhai?

Angad: i doubt it...it is almost close to impossible to dislike her.

Aliyah: oooooooooooooooooo.....soo bhai likes her...

Angad: aliyah...i just told you about our relationship...and please...don't say things like that in front of her....she seems pretty sentimental too..I dont exactly know how she would react.  I dont want to make her upset over anything.....

Aliyah: as you say bhai..

Angad and Aliyah caught up with the latest news in each other's life.  They reached home and aliyah ran inside.  Angad told teddy to keep the laugage in Aliyah's room and followed aliyah.  Aliyah went straight to dadi's room but dadi was sleeping.   Aliyah closed the door and stepped out.  

Aliyah: bhai...where is mom and dad?

Angad: they are out for two days on a business trip....

Teddy: Sir..laugage rakh diya...aur kuch?

Angad: haan..zara memsaab ko bulana.

Teddy: yes sir.

Teddy went to Kripa's room and told her that she has a visitor.  Kripa came out of her room and looked down from the upstairs passage.  She saw Angad sitting on the sofa that faced the staircase and she saw a woman sitting on the opposite one.  Aliyah's back was turned to Kripa, Kripa couldn't see her face.  In the middle of his conversation with aliyah, Angad saw Kripa walking down in a baby pink sari.

Angad: there she is.

Aliyah turned around and stood up at once on seeing Kripa.  Kripa was fighting with her sari frills while walking down the stairs and didn't see aliyah.

Aliyah(loudly): KRIPA????!!!!

Angad stared at Aliyah in a surprise that she knew Kripa while Kripa looked up to see the person who had that so familiar voice.  Kripa's face had a rush of cheer on her face.  Kripa ran down the stairs at fast as she could.  Aliyah walked away from the sofa and towards the stairs.  Both girls hugged each other tight and squealed.

Kripa: oh my god....you are here!!!!!

Aliyah: YEA.....and you are here too....in...a.......sari???  Kripa sharma in a sari??  thats something you don't see often.

Kripa: yea yea yea.....and its not kripa sharma its..(interrupted by aliyah)

Aliyah: so what are you doing here??..

Kripa: I live here...well atleast now i do..

Angad: Aliyah...Kripa..you know each other?

Aliyah: bhai......i know her very well...but what is she doing....(then it struck aliyah what Angad had said "there she comes" she as in his wife, she as in aliyah's bhabhi)....oh my god....are you serious....Kripa is your wife??

Angad: um..yeaaa.....

Kripa: ali..how do you know Angad?

Aliyah: HE IS MY BROTHER!!!!

Kripa(eyes widened): you brother?  you never told me you had a brother.....

Aliyah: well...yea...because if girls found out that angad is my brother...they all nag me to hook them up with him....i could never make real friends if they knew i had such a hot brother...they would always use me so that they can go out with this hottie of theirs.......anyways...so what do i call you now kripa?  the usual 'krips' or 'kripa bhabhi'?

Kripa: whatever you wish to call me ali dear...

Aliyah: ok..now bhai....corrections to your analysis about Kripa.  She is NOT quiet, she is as loud as me.  She is organized but not a nerd.  She is a party animal.  She is very fun loving...she is just like me...basically.....

Kripa: shut up ali...

Angad: no...dont...tell me more....seems like Kripa's been keeping secrets from me...

Kripa: aisi koi baat nahi hai...i just didnt..

Aliyah: let me guess...gayatri aunty told you to behave this way...

Kripa(turned red): um....maybe....

Aliyah: well Kripa..my brother is a kool guy....he won't mind you in jeans and T....

Aliyah, Kripa and Angad talked for a long time.  Their interesting conversation led from the day of the wedding, to the uncomfortableness, to their friendship.

Aliyah: Kripa..let me tell you something...you made a BIG mistake by becoming my brother's friend...and bhai...you made a big mistake by making her your friend....

Angad & Kripa: why?

Aliyah: because bhabhi...mere bhai se jo bhi ladki dosti karti hai...woh ek na ek din mere bhai se pyaar karne lagti hai...and bhai...Kripa has a similar effects on boys...they become her friend just to try and ask her out.

The three were having a good time until they heard something break in dadi's room.  Kripa was the first one to run to Dadi's room.  Kripa saw dadi sitting on the bed looking at the water pitcher which was broken on the floor.

Kripa: dadi!!  ek minute...kya kar rahi thi aap?...aapko kuch chahiye tha to mujhse keh deti...TEDDY!!!! TEDDY!!!!!!

Teddy: yes ma'm...

kripa: teddy...what is this?..meine tumse kaha hai na..dadi ke room mein hamesha pani unke side table par rakhna...phir itni door kyun rakha hai tumne?  you better be carefull around her and if you can't take care of her then tell me...i will take care of her...

Dadi: Kripa...beta relax..mein theek hoon....mein sirf pani lene jaa rahi thi lekin mere haath se gir gaya...

Kripa: dadi...aapne mujhe bula liya hota...mein to har waqt ghar pe hi hoti hoon na...aur ab to aliyah bhi aa gayi hai dekho..

Aliyah: dadi....how are you??

Aliyah hugged dadi and dropped a few tears.  Angad gave a faint smile and looked at kripa who was wiping her own tears on seeing such a touching moment between the grandmother-grandaughter.  The four talked for a while and then split around 4 PM.  No one realized they had skipped lunch.  Angad-Kripa and Aliyah were sitting in the living room getting bored because they had run out of things to talk about.

Aliyah: to Kripa...kaha ghumi ho india mein?

Kripa: lets see...airport se Sharma mansion.  Sharma mansion se hospital, hospital ke baad Khanna House.

Aliyah: very funny kripa...tell me na..did you go to the beach yet?

Kripa: aliyah..im serious..i haven't been anywhere...

Aliyah: what has happened to both of you?  bhai..you never stay at home and Kripa...you are a travel freak.....im damn sure if Anjali was here she would take you lots of places..

Kripa: um..she IS here...and we haven't met since my return home ceremony.

Aliyah: well..thats what happens when you are in love......the world becomes nothing...

Kripa: um...ali...i dont think you know but Dhruv...is Angad's friend.

Aliyah: WHAT??? WHAT THE HELL?  we are all related in one form or another!!!

Angad: the world seems so small right now..

Kripa: it sure does.
