"Very smart... Captain Huda." This time her tone was much serious.

A malevolent smile came on his face.

"You bet... Captain Singh."

 

After a long pause she said.

"So this was the courier you received."

"Yes."

"How strong you think this piece of evidence actually is... Against me?"

"Strong enough to set up an enquiry against you."

"And you think you can prove me guilty... Huh!"

"I don't think so... I know so."

"And how are you gonna do that?"

"Very simple. I have got a video recording where you are sneaking inside Major Rastogi's quarter with that envelope of cash and those documents."

"What?" Her face went pale.

"Yes and I also have a few more evidences against you."

 

She smiled and shook her head.

"You know what Huda... You are too good. But you have messed up with wrong person. How I wish you haven't done that and believe me hereafter even you are gonna wish the same."

"You scared me Captain Singh... Huh!" He chuckled.

"But tell me something, I thought I was playing a neat game and you were falling for it, phir tumhein shaq kaise hua?"

"Well even I agree you played a neat game... A nice bechari act that was."

"Thank you but... Then?"

He took out his phone and showed it to her. She looked at it trying hard to figure out what he was trying to say.

"Looks like you are not able to recognize it. Never mind. Lemme help you. Sorry... It's a mobile phone. Looks life someone forgot it here. Anyways chuck it! You tell me what's to be done now. I heard you talking on the phone that night but I really wonder who the other person with you was."

 

"I must say... I am impressed." A voice came from behind.

Naina's eyes lit up when she saw him but Huda was shocked. Naina went closer to him and gave a peck on his lips.

 

"What are you doing here?" She asked him.

"I knew he was up to something so I thought I should follow him to find out what's going on in his mind. But I must agree with you... He is too good."

"Who cares how good he is? No one would ever come to know about that. Captain Amardeep Huda... You are doomed now."

 

That man took out a gun and gave it to Naina.

 

There was a complete silence. The chillness of the night was making them numb. Huda and Naina looked into each other's eyes. But their eyes show completely different emotions. If one pair of eyes was lit with Happiness then the other was wide with shock and horror.

 

'How on this earth could this thing happen?'

 

But it had happened. The thing that never ever could be imagined.

 

"What the hell are you waiting for? We don't have any time to waste. Just finish it off fast and let's go. You don't want us to be caught. Do you?" That man prompted her.

 

The eye-contact was broken. Those bright eyes lit up all the more.

 

"You are right. Let's finish off this story forever and then we won't have any hurdle in our success. Goodbye and Happy Journey to the heaven."

 

A gunshot followed. A couple of seconds later the lifeless body fell on the ground. The eyes those were filled with shock and horror just a while ago were lifeless now. No emotions...nothing. They were blank. The person who has always been so full of life was DEAD!!

 

Their lips spread out in a smile as both of them looked at the dead body. The joy of their success could be seen over their faces.

"Poor thing" He said.

"You bet... just one mistake can sometimes prove to be fatal."

 

They looked at each other. This was no less than a victory for them. After all they have had a narrow escape. That was just another dead body for them. They had seen so many and they have never ever cared. They have never cared for other's emotions. Their own missions, their own needs, and their own life... that's the only thing they have ever cared about. One more person was killed by them tonight but that didn't make any difference to them.

 

They took away a life so that the lifeless body can take away the blame for the dirty game they have been playing for last 6 months.

 

"What were those papers?" He asked.

"My phone records that said I never received any call from Major Rastogi or for that matter any one else that night. He caught my lie."

"Never mind sweetheart. He had paid for it with his life... A big price indeed."

"True... But we will have to find that video and other proofs that he has collected against me."

"Don't worry...We'll do that right away. After all I can't let anything happen to you."

 

He put his arms around her waist. She looked at him affectionately without blinking her eyes.

"What happened?"

"It's been so long having been with you... I love you Raj."
