As Khushi walked into the coffee shop, she couldn't help feeling nervous. She had agreed to meet Arnav Raizada, the man her parents had chosen for her to marry. She had heard about him from her parents and knew that he came from a prestigious family and was a successful businessman.
As she looked around, she saw a tall, well-dressed man sitting at a table in the corner, typing away on his laptop. She guessed that it must be Arnav. She took a deep breath and walked over to him.
"Excuse me," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "Are you Arnav Raizada?"
Arnav looked up from his laptop and gave her a quick once-over before standing up.
"Yes, I am," he said, his tone formal. "You must be Khushi Gupta."
Khushi nodded, feeling self-conscious under his scrutiny.
"Nice to meet you," she said, extending her hand for a handshake.
Arnav took her hand and gave it a quick shake before gesturing for her to sit down.
"I ordered some coffee for us," he said, indicating the cups on the table. "Would you like some?"
Khushi nodded, feeling relieved to have something to do with her hands. They sat in silence for a few moments, sipping their coffee.
"So, Khushi," Arnav said, breaking the silence. "Tell me about yourself."
Khushi felt a little taken aback by his directness, but she decided to be honest.
"I'm a fashion designer," she said, smiling. "I'm very passionate about my work and I hope to make it big in the industry someday."
Arnav raised an eyebrow.
"Fashion design?" he said, sounding a little surprised. "That's an interesting choice."
Khushi felt a twinge of annoyance at his tone, but she didn't let it show.
"I know it's not the typical career choice for someone from a traditional family like mine," she said, "but it's what I love to do."
Arnav nodded, seeming to take her seriously for the first time.
"I respect that," he said, leaning back in his chair. "I come from a business background myself, so I understand the importance of following your passion."
Khushi was a little surprised to hear him say that. She had assumed that he would be more traditional and conservative, but she could see now that there was more to him than she had initially thought.
They chatted for a few more minutes, exchanging pleasantries and getting to know each other a little better. Khushi found herself enjoying the conversation more than she had expected.
As they finished their coffee, Arnav cleared his throat.
"I know that this meeting must be a little awkward for both of us," he said, his tone serious. "But I want you to know that I'm open to getting to know you better, Khushi. I think we have a lot in common, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes."
Khushi felt a little taken aback by his sudden declaration, but she couldn't help feeling a little intrigued. She had expected him to be cold and distant, but he seemed to be opening up to her.
"Thank you, Arnav," she said, giving him a small smile. "I'm open to getting to know you better too."
As they parted ways, Khushi couldn't help feeling a little confused. She had gone into the meeting expecting to dislike Arnav, but she had come away feeling a little intrigued by him. She didn't know where this was going, but she was willing to find out.
As Khushi walked away from the coffee shop, her mind was racing with thoughts about Arnav. She had expected him to be cold and unapproachable, but he had surprised her with his openness and interest in her career.
She wondered if there was more to him than she had initially thought. She couldn't deny that he was attractive and intelligent, but she was still unsure if she could see herself marrying him.
She decided to take a walk around the park to clear her head. As she walked, she thought about her own dreams and aspirations. She knew that her family expected her to get married and settle down, but she wasn't sure if she was ready for that.
She had always been focused on her career, and she didn't want to give that up for anyone. But she also knew that her parents wanted what was best for her, and they thought that marrying Arnav was the best thing for her.
As she walked, she spotted a group of children playing on the swings. They were laughing and giggling, and their carefree joy made her smile. She realized that she wanted that kind of happiness in her life too.
She wondered if Arnav could make her happy. She didn't know him well enough yet to make that decision, but she was willing to give him a chance.
As she headed back home, she couldn't shake the feeling that her life was about to change. She wasn't sure if it was for the better or for the worse, but she knew that she was ready for whatever came her way.
When she arrived home, her mother was waiting for her.
"Khushi, how did it go?" her mother asked, her eyes shining with excitement.
Khushi smiled, feeling a little apprehensive.
"It was fine," she said, trying to sound nonchalant. "Arnav seems like a nice guy."
Her mother's face lit up.
"That's wonderful, beta!" she said, beaming at her. "We'll have to start planning the engagement soon."
Khushi felt a little overwhelmed by her mother's enthusiasm, but she knew that she couldn't put this decision off forever. She was going to have to make a choice sooner or later.
As she headed to her room, she realized that she had a lot to think about. She wasn't sure where this was going, but she knew that she was ready to take the next step.
As the days went by, Khushi found herself thinking more and more about Arnav. She couldn't deny that he had made an impression on her during their first meeting. She found herself daydreaming about what it would be like to be married to him and starting a new life together.
At the same time, she couldn't help feeling a little apprehensive about the whole situation. She didn't want to disappoint her parents, but she also didn't want to give up her dreams for anyone.
One day, as she was working on a new design, her phone rang. It was Arnav.
"Hi, Khushi," he said, his voice warm and friendly. "I was wondering if you'd like to grab dinner with me tonight?"
Khushi felt a rush of excitement at the invitation, but she tried to play it cool.
"Sure, that sounds great," she said, trying to sound casual. "Where did you have in mind?"
"There's a new restaurant that just opened up downtown," he said. "I heard it's supposed to be really good. I can pick you up at 7?"
Khushi agreed, feeling a little nervous but also excited. She couldn't wait to see Arnav again.
As she got ready for the date that night, she couldn't help feeling a little self-conscious. She tried on several outfits before finally settling on a simple but elegant dress that she hoped would make a good impression.
When Arnav arrived, he looked handsome and sophisticated in a crisp white shirt and dark trousers. He complimented her on her dress and they headed off to the restaurant.
Over dinner, they chatted about their families, their careers, and their interests. Khushi found herself opening up to Arnav more than she had expected. She told him about her passion for fashion design and her dreams of starting her own fashion line someday.
Arnav listened attentively, asking her questions and seeming genuinely interested in what she had to say.
"I admire your ambition, Khushi," he said, his eyes sparkling. "You're going to go far in the fashion world, I can tell."
Khushi felt a warm flush spread through her body. She had never felt so validated and encouraged before.
As dinner wound down, Arnav leaned in and took her hand.
"Khushi, I know that we're still getting to know each other," he said, his voice low and earnest. "But I can't help feeling like there's something special between us. I would like to see where this goes, if you're open to it."
Khushi felt her heart race in her chest. She wasn't sure if she was ready for a serious relationship, but she couldn't deny the attraction she felt towards Arnav.
"I'm open to it, Arnav," she said, smiling at him. "Let's see where this goes."
As they left the restaurant and headed back to her house, Khushi couldn't help feeling excited about the possibilities. She knew that she was taking a risk by opening up to Arnav, but she also knew that she was ready for a change.
As they said goodbye, Arnav leaned in and kissed her gently on the cheek.
"Goodnight, Khushi," he said, his voice soft. "I'll see you soon."
Khushi watched as he walked away, feeling a little dizzy with excitement. She wasn't sure what the future held, but she knew that she was ready for whatever came her way.
