Chapter 10

Maan was working in his office when his mobile started ringing.

Daadimaa: Maan where are you? We'll get late.

He saw the time and bit his tongue.

Maan: Sorry Daadimaa I forgot. I am coming just now.

He cut the call and rushed home, got ready and took Daadimaa with him. They were invited to the charity function held by the orphanage his Daadimaa supported. As they reached the venue, he got an important call so asked her to proceed saying he'll join as soon as he is finished with the call.

Being over with the conversation, as he was moving towards the hall when he met with Yash who was entering at the same time.

Yash(smiling): Hello Mr. Khurana. Didn't expected to meet you here.

Maan: Hello Mr. Chaddha. Actually my Daadimaa is associated with this organization so I am here attending this function. But it's surprising for me to see you here when you said the other day that it's the first time you are trying your hand at business in Delhi and don't get to come here much and you are already associated with this orphanage.

Yash: Yes I know it's weird that I am still not completely settled here and already started doing charity.

Actually I have recently purchased my home in Delhi and as also you provided us with space for office in your building so my sisters decided to donate something like we do in temples when something good happens. But later it was decided rather than donating in any temple helping children would be better and this way I got associated with this orphanage.

Maan: I can understand. Come let's attend the function.

Yash: Ya sure. Come.

And they both moved to their respective seats to enjoy the function.

As the function concluded, Daadimaa said that she wanted to meet the organizers once to congratulate them and Maan shrugged it saying that he will meet her in the car and both proceeded forward.

On his way out, his eyes met with a pair a hazels that didn't allow his gaze to shift. He felt a sudden connection with those eyes and stood mesmerized observing the changing emotions in them.

He could not see the face properly as everyone was trying to move out of the hall but could feel a sudden shock in them followed by happiness which was soon clouded by pain and fear and suddenly those eyes just disappeared in the crowd.

He stood there a little longer trying to contemplate his feelings and the play of emotions in those eyes. He was sure he knew them somewhere owing to his feelings and anyway else why would someone behave so weirdly ' One moment being shocked and happy and the very next moment disappearing with pain and fear in those beautiful eyes.

Since he didn't saw anything except those hazels, he wasn't sure who it could be but his heart just screamed one and only name GEET.

They were so similar to hers. But if it was really Geet there then why did she run away from him? Why didn't she meet him? What was bothering her that inflicted so much pain which was clearly visible in her eyes? Why was she hiding from him?

He again had a lot of questions after what happened today but like always there was no answer to them until he himself questions her, until she explains her them to him.
