CHAPTER 34 – STUMPED 2.0

ARNAV’S POV

NEXT DAY – AS IN 21ST FEB – ARNAV’S BDAY – 2.52 PM

I grin to myself as I stand in front of my Locker in the locker room and browse through all the pictures of the Pooja that My Sunshine has shared with me from the inauguration of Hit Wicket Your Tongue.

I STILL CANT BLOODY BELIEVE THIS!!

I MEAN ALL THAT SHE HAS DONE!

LIKE IT IS STILL SINKING IN.

And she is also looking so mesmerising in that cotton baby pink salwar suit that she’d worn for the Pooja, it was similar to the white one she had worn a couple of days ago on the 17th Feb to the Radha Krishna Temple in the morning for the Pooja she had kept in the memory of her family ,since it was their second death anniversary on that day(and this also coincided with my grandfathers birthday and death anniversary too, but because I was on tour because of the matches, I had missed out the ceremony held at home as well, but I was in loop with everyone at home and Khushi on the video calls ofcourse.) With Khushi – I had video called her of course in the morning right before she left for the Pooja and this time she did say she was feeling more peaceful and sorted than she did last year.

And I just wanted to be there for her as always and I was kind of bummed that I couldn’t be there with her physically next to her whilst she held the Pooja in their memory and MY Sunshine was all like – you are always there with me Arnav, like always so don’t worry about it. And there was some kind off a peace in her eyes that I had spotted that had assured me that she was ok..like really ok and that she was not just saying all of that to make me feel better – And last night I Kind off got my Answers.

Just the fact that she had channelized all her energies and grief so Positively and the fact that how deeply she loved me had been a trigger for her – It kind off blew me away guys.

LIKE EVERYTHING WITHIN ME IS STILL STUMPED TO ANOTHER LEVEL!

Its Like its still sinking in that how is it possible for someone as innocent, pure and beautiful as her to even exist???

ITS LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT HER KIND OFF MAKES ME WANT TO RESPECT GOD LIKE A MILLION TIMEs OVER.

And like I always say I can never thank God enough for blessing Me with Her In MY Life.

I am still on that overwhelmed chain of thought when my phone beeps.

It’s my Sunshine Ofcourse!

And now she’s also just shared a picture of her dressed in my Jersey with a Note below it that says : My hoodie guy you are ready for your game and I am all set here for the opening…its filling up already and everyone is so excited and so am I…for this is our first screening. Varun has the screening on already and we can already see the crowd going berserk in the stadium. And I am guessing you are in the locker room now and reading this as you get ready for the national anthems and then the toss. Gosh I am so excited to be able to talk to you about it – thank god no more digienes.(she has added a sticky tongue emoticon)

That obviously cracks me up!

This girl makes me feel like I am on a permanent rollercoaster of Emotions.(WELL – NOTHING NEW ABOUT THAT GUYS!)

Insaneeee!!

HOWEVER.

I LOVE IT.

BECAUSE OF ALL THE PEACE I FEEL WITHIN BECAUSE OF HER.

I grin as I write : you are freaking adorable Sunshine..And I just thanked god for you again.how can I ever thank him enough for blessing me with You???and Yes indeed, just in the locker room Love, about to step out with everyone for the national anthems and then the toss and I am so excited to be able to talk to you about it too.

Her :ohhhooo plsss hoodie guy..dont start with all this thanking and all ya! We both know that we are equally grateful to god,fate and our destiny for making us find our way towards each other.PERIOD.And oh wait.. from now on I want you to talk to me freely about Cricket ok?? Like everything ok??? I anyway have learnt a lot in the last two months ok…trust me you are going to be so proud off me when you hear about my knowledge in cricket.And alsoooo ohhh ..do you know I have this special picture (from old times)of Daddy,Mom,and Krish with Uncle and Rahul all going crazy after a cricket win for you guys and daddy and Krish are in their Jersey’s and I have gotten it blown up to like a full wall size for the Backoffices wall. The wall picture arrived just in time this morning as the pooja began for the cafe and I so wanted to show it to you toooo..and I am attaching a picture of the same now.

I grin as I read the message and then I open the picture.

My Heart Warms Up.

For it’s such a Happy picture reflecting a very excited and a happy moment in time.

Me : That is such a lovely picture Khushi..I love it...And I am soooo proud of you Love.In everyway.Like I always say – You are Inspirational Sunshine!

Her : well love you are just biased about me yaaa...ok..but still thank you Arnav and - ...once again...Happy bday hoodie Guy! Just enjoy yourself out there and it shall be a good game anyway!!! I loveeeee you so so so so muchhh…oh and guess what…I just got my first order for ASR’s UpperCut Coffee shot – coffee…hahaha…I am starting work Love.All the best to you!Carnage kisses.And oh wait..you have to know this too like before you play – its Like I love your Jersey on me.Did I tell you I got like 11 of them – you know since 11 is your playing number and because I am going to be wearing it everyday – I need to have my stock ready and going since things get a little messy behind the counter sometimes.

I cant stop grinning guys!

Me : realllly???? 11?????? Goshhhh Sunshine.

Her : I told you – I am nuts about you!now gooooo…play play play.tada for now.

I grin : ok now switching off the phone Love.text you in eight hours.

Her : no worries hoodie guy.I got my eyes on you anyway – Love.

I switch off my phone now and I place it in the locker and just as I shut my locker- I spot Coach walking towards me and he pulls me into a hug as he says – “happy bday my boy…happy bday…”

I hug him back as I say – “ thanks Coach..”

And he pulls back and he pats my shoulder – “ I am so proud of you…c’mon lets get out on the field…its toss time..”,and he turns to the rest of the boys behind me as he says – “ c’mon boys…its 1 for us and 1 for RSA..let’s this win this ODI boys…look at the crowd…they are going berserk already…Punjab loves us and they always come out in large numbers…its going to be a good game…”

I grin at the rest of my team and Cap comes out and hugs me and he pats my shoulders as he winks – “cmon then..lets get going..”,and the rest of my team members also pull me into a b’day congratulatory hug one by one and then Cap winks at me with a grin as he gestures to us that its time to head out now.

I grin and Cap leads us out and I follow right behind him and the rest of the boys follow and we take the hand of the little kids that stand with us while the national anthems go on and we see the South African team follow behind as well and the crowd goes literally berserk with excitement. And just as the national anthem begins – I feel Pride and Responsibility take over as it always does, and I get into my Game Zone.

No matter what the result - It was going to be a Bloody Good Game.

I was sure about That.

A couple of minutes Later as we wait for the Toss to happen – I clutch Krish’s toss coin in my hand in my pocket and I feel Love rush through my Heart all over again – as I recall my moments with Khushi last night.

And right then we hear the result of the Toss – South Africa has won the toss and elected to chase and field first that means – We Bat first and then Defend our Score.

I pat Shiv’s shoulder now and we both walk into the Locker room, for we have to Start Padding Up.

And I kiss Krish’s toss coin and place it back into my wallet carefully like I always do and close my locker and now start to get ready to fire some shots.

Shiv grins at me from across the bench as he is padding up and he asks – “ same strategy then? I go aggressive first seeing the condition and you anchor the other end??”

I wink at him – “ totally…”

Shiv winks – “ well it does look like a batters pitch..lets see how the ball swings..”

I grin at him – “ you keep your cover drives ready Shiv…we are going to win this..”

Shiv grins – “ lets do this ASR..and you keep those killer UpperCuts ready…we need to put up a big total..”, and we punch our gloves, and I pick out my favourite bat and tuck it under my arm lovingly – “ oh yes..lets smash those boundaries Shiv..”

I was surely going use a Lot of my UpperCut Shots Today – maybe a couple extra - for My Sunshine was watching too.

I see Cap come up to us as he gives us a pat on both our shoulders and he says – “ the pitch looks good…go for it boys..a big total always puts up pressure on the chasing team..”

We nod at him and we both now step out on the field and the Crowd immediately stands up and starts roaring and rhyming our names.

GOD – THE THRILL.

I FEEL THIS EVERY FREAKING MATCH.

ITS AMAZING!

WE PLAY FOR THIS! LIKE ALL THIS CRAZE – FOR THE GAME – IT IS TRUE THAT CRICKET IS PRETTY MUCH A RELIGION IN OUR COUNTRY ANYWAY.

Shiv and Me smile at each other as we walk up the ground and now get ready on each side of the pitch and take our positions, and we see the South African team get ready in the field and I turn around and wish the SA wicket keeper all the best for the game as well – which surprises him because he was all serious and tense and my smile kind off eased him a little and we know each other well because we have been playing international cricket for so long for our respective countries, and so we have a little chat before the game begins and we see the Umpire signal us to begin.

And The Screen Goes.

GAME TIME!

TWO HOURS 50 MINUTES LATER

I grin as I see Cap fire his signature Helicopter Shot for a Six straight into the Stands, from the other end and I walk up to him in the middle of the pitch and we smack our gloves together and I wink at him adjusting my helmet – “ Cap…what a beauty that was…you should have seen the look on Stan’s face..he couldn’t believe that his high paced ball got smashed like that…and that too in the death..”(Stan was the South African Ace Pacer..)

Cap grins and winks and he studies the pitch as he says – “ the over just finished..12 more balls ASR…lets go for it…this is the best situation we could ask for..for we are both set…and you get aggressive now as well..i will try to take a single on the first ball of the next over to get you on the other end and you take over.”

I nod and I watch Cap take his position back in spot.

OK GUYS.

I AM SO GLAD WE ARE BATTING FIRST.

THE PITCH WAS AMAZING.

AND SO WE ARE 300 – 3

LIKE SORRY SUNSHINE!!!

RSA CANT BELIEVE WHATS HIT THEM TODAY!

IN ALL THE DRINKS BREAK – I HAD THE SA WICKET KEEPER GIVE ME LOOKS LIKE – WHAT DID YOU EAT FOR LUNCH TODAY???AND THEIR SKIPPER TOO – HE’S FACE HAS BEEN LIKE – LETS GET THIS ASR OUT MAN!!

NOT TODAY!

SO.

Shiv and me were having a brilliant partnership and we always plan this way that he takes the aggressive lead first and boy was he in amazing mood today…he fired through the Power Play -and he fell to a thrilling catch out at the boundary line at 55 and I was still batting slow and steadily at 25, and then I had a decent partnership with Kunal as well and he fell to a tricky LBW at 47, and I was still playing slow by then because I was planning to anchor through and so I let Kunal take the lead with his amazing shots and then after his wicket, in came in Yuvaan – he is a amazing young find that we have added to the team months ago – and he fired quick four boundaries each a 4 and then a six and then he fell to a brilliant stumping by the SA wicket keeper after that quick 22. And Then in came in Cap and we had planned to take it slow and steady and keeping targeting for some big overs in between with the focus on keeping both our wickets.

AND BOY WE HAD.

BECAUSE THE SA TEAM WAS TRYING EVERY MIX OF BOWLERS LENGTH AND LINE TO GET US OUT TODAY.

BUT CAP AND ME WERE JUST IN THE MOOD TODAY.

AND CAP’S FIRED HIS INNINGS QUICKLY (As he wanted him to get aggressive first and have me anchor him first) and he is now at a 86 himself with that amazing helicopter six in the last ball of the 47th over.

And I am 90 Right Now.

And the bowlers changed of course and I can catch the worried expression on the SA skippers face because he knows the last 12 balls and with Cap and Me both Set on the Crease – and with 7 wickets in hand – he knows the scores going to get only higher and competitive to chase and he’s telling his ace spinner that he needs a wicket.

I grin to myself as I adjust my Helmet and I say to myself – NOT TODAY MY FRIEND.

ANY OTHER DAY.

BUT NOT TODAY.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A WICKET TODAY!

And the spinner is stressed obviously because its too much pressure but he bowls in a beautiful delivery bang on line and length and Cap hits it through softly and we take a quick single and I take the Crease now.

And The SA Skipper is quite unhappy.

Well its on his face.

For he’s standing right behind the wicket keeper at first slip hoping to get a catch out from my Bat.

I know that’s what he wants – because that’s what His position tells me.

AND HE KNOWS MY SKIPPER’S JUST ASKED ME TO GO IN FOR MY BIG SHOTS.

AND SORRY DUDE – ONCE AGAIN.

I TOLD THE LOVE OF MY LIFE  LAST NIGHT THAT I WAS GOING TO UNLEASH SOME MASSIVE CARNAGE ON HER COUNTRY’S BOWLERS.

AND NOW WAS THE TIME.

BECAUSE OVER TIME I HAD LEARNT TO PLAY THIS SPINNER VERY WELL – BECAUSE OF ALL THE EXPOSURE WITH HIM IN THE IPL IN THE MUMBAI TEAM.(AND HE IS BRILLIANT IN DEATH BOWLING AND INFACT I HAD HIM BOWL TO ME IN THE NETS LAST YEAR IN THE IPL TO GET MY TECHNIQUES IMPROVED IN THE DEATH)

AND I KNOW HIM WELL.

HE IS FREAKING TENSE BEFORE GOING IN WITH THE NEXT BALL.

HE KNOWS ME WELL TOO.

HE CAN READ MY INTENTION WITH MY BODY LANGUAGE.

SORRY FRIEND – BUT YOUR ECONOMY IS GOING TO GO FOR A TOSS TODAY!

I AM JUST IN THE MOOD.

AND ITS MY BDAY!

Cap gives me a thumbs up from the other end in a go crazy signal and I nod as I adjust my Helmet and then before I take my position – I look at my Sunshine’s secret coded message on my bat and I smile to myself, and I look up straight towards where I know the camera’s are, for I know she will catch on to this gesture – for she’s watching this and I Grin now as I take my position and the ball comes in and I time it perfectly as I smash it through the middle of my bat for a killer UpperCUt straight into the stands for a Six.

I grin as I see the Crowd go wild and the cheering begins and the Umpire Signals a Six and Cap comes forward into the pitch in the middle and he grins at me an pats my arm and he signals me to keep firing as he says – “happy bday ASR…”

I see the Scoreboard.

I am on 96 with that.

And we are at 307 – 3 (48.2 Overs)

I grin as I walk back to my position and adjust my gloves in my hand again, and take position.

THIS ONE IS GOING TO BE FOR YOU MY LOVE.

And the ball comes through – and I smash it straight up into the air for a massive UpperCut AGAIN, and I keep my eyes on the ball with a grin up my face as I see it roar high into the air through the stands – I THINK I HIT THAT ONE OUT OF THE PARK.

HAHA!

CARNAGE…!!

MASSIVE BLOODY CARNAGE!!!!!

I can see and hear the crowd go Insane as they start rhyming my name and I see the rest of my team mates from the dug out stand up and cheer along with both our coaches and Cap comes to me as he hugs me and I hug him back and I step back in sheer happiness and I raise my Bat High to the crowd – for iv just reached 102 with that Six.

WELL – THIS CENTURY IS FOR YOU SUNSHINE!

I LOOK STRAIGHT AT THE CAMERA AND THEN I KISS MY BAT EXACTLY WHERE SHE’S WRITTEN ME HER CODED MESSAGE AND I RAISE MY BAT TO THE CROWD AGAIN!

The Crowds roaring and I grin as I run back to my position and I grin at the SA wicket keeper and give him a wink as I say adjusting my glove and helmet – “ sorry friend, just one of those days when I am in the mood..”

He shakes his head at me amused through all that tention up his face and I give him a grin and take my position and I hit the next ball for a amazing cover drive straight to the boundary covers for a Four , which sends the crowd roaring again and then I hit another four on the second last ball of the over and I hit the last ball for a smashing Six again in a Hook Shot and I reach 116 with that last hit and we are now 327 -3 in 49 overs.

THE SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM STILL CANT BELIEVE WHATS HIT THEM TODAY.

HAHA.

WELL – SORRY GUYS.

I grin as I now walk up to Cap and I tell him – “ Cap..go for the last over now…its been ages since we’v both had a century in the same game..’cmon…im watching from the other end…”

Cap grins at me and winks and I see him take the position and I know he’s going to have some extra fun too, for we couldn’t ask for a more favourable situation.

And I cant help but Grin as I see Cap fire A SIX and then we take a three doubles too and then he misses hitting the second last ball and he ends the last ball with an amazing four and we finish 343 -3 in 50 overs.

And Cap finishes with a 102 - Not out.

And I finish with a 116 – Not Out.

AND WE ARE THRILLED BEYOND IMAGINATION

AND THE REST OF THE TEAM COMES IN RUNNING THROUGH AND TOPPLES OVER US BOTH AND I CANT HELP BUT GRIN HAPPILY.

I FREAKING LOVED EVERY MINUTE ON THIS AMAZING PITCH TODAY.

EVERY MINUTE OFF IT.

AND OFCOURSE CAP AND ME BOTH KNOW THAT WE ARE GOING TO GET CALLED IN FOR A MID GAME INTERVIEW BY THE REPORTERS AND WE ALREADY SEE A COUPLE OF REPORTERS RUSH TO THE PITCH AND CAP GIVES ME A WINK AND WE MAKE OUR WAY TOWARDS THEM.

I cant hep but grin as I hear the reporter ask Cap – “well, Congraulations Skipper, you must be very happy with that performance…..your very own, and your Vice Captains too..”

I fold my hands across my chest n sheer joy as I hear Cap answer with a grin – “ ofcours I am….i am beyond thrilled..”

The reporter – “ well a century for you both…what a entertainment that has been for us all…we were beyond thrilled..how did those last two overs feel on the pitch??”

Cap grins as he says – “well I cant put it in words..maybe our bday boy can..ASR..wana tell them??

I chuckle.

The reporter turns to me – “ASR?? its your bday today…happy bday to you…and what a treat you have dished out for your fans…”

And before I can say anything, I hear the Crowd Cheer Insanely and a huge part of it starts rhyming my name and wishing me a very Happy bday.

I grin as I say into the mike – “ thank you Mohali…thank you everyone…for the wonderful wishes…”

The reporter grins – “well tell us about those last two overs..it must have been thrilling…for you both have put up a huge total 344 for the chase is a daunting score on the board..it looks to be a win already..because the SA team is tense..”

I nod as I admit honestly – “ well yes it is a big total, however it’s a good pitch and South Africa is a world class side so you never know until its over…so lets save those answers for you for the end of the game, and maybe we should now head back into the locker room to get ready for the fielding…Cap’s got his precious wickets to keep..”, I finish with a wink.

Cap grins as he says into the mike, patting my shoulder – “ yes, we gotta head in now for the break time is short…and I gotta chat up with the team…”

The Reporter nods and starts with summarising the highlights and Cap and me both walk towards the locker room.

And just as we step in – there’s huge cheering and whistiling going on and we are both hoisted on our shoulders and Cap grins as he says – “ Boys…its not over yet…cmon you never know until the last ball…yes this is good for our momentum..but lets not forgetting RSA’s batting line up is great..they got hitters deep into the middle order…cmon boys…we gotta defend ourselves and win this game..”

The boys put us down and hoot and right then I see Kunal get a message in his ear from one of our technical support persons from the dug out and Kunal looks at me and he gives me a amused look and shrugs his shoulders and the locker room has gone quiet and I look at Kunal and I ask – “ what???”

Kunal grins and he gives me a wink – “ well…I just got a message that your Aisha Khanna has stepped into the VIP box with another Bollywood costar of hers Pari Chopra…and reporters are out there trying to ask her if she came in especially because its your bday…ASR..you be ready for some crazy nonsense with the media after the game…and she is here in the stadium…they are going to have a field day and not let this go…”

WHATTTT THE BLOODY HELL??????????

NOT TODAY DAMMIT.

JUST WHEN EVERYTHING IS PERFECT.

WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO APPEAR OUT OF NOWHERE AND KUNAL IS RIGHT…HER FREAKING PRESENCE IN THE STANDS IS GOING TO TRIGGER A LOT OF NONSENSE.

THE REPORTERS WONT STOP TALKING ABOUT IT AND ZOOMING IN ON ME(from the field) AND HER PICTURE FROM THE STANDS.

GODDAMIT.

AND

MY SUNSHINE IS WATCHING.

I FEEL MY ANGER BOIL NOW AND I GULP DOWN SOME GATROADE TO CALM MYSELF.

I AM SERIOUSLY PISSED OFF.

Cap and Ravi give me a worried look and Cap turns to the boys – “ okkk ok…cmon boys…we gotta game to focus on…we have to get to the field in five…”

Everyone starts to get ready and Cap walks up to me and so does Ravi and he puts a hand on my shoulder – “ relax ASR…don’t worry about it…everything will be ok..”

Ravi nods at me – “ Khushi knows right..i mean you did tell us that she’s immune to all of this nonsensical drama now??so don’t worry ASR..”

I nod taking a deep breathe – “ well yes…but still..she is immune to it…but that doesn’t mean that this wont make her uneasy as she hears on this…you know the media..dammit..”,and I pause as I look at Cap – “ I think I will just drop her a text maybe..”,and I am about to switch on my phone when Coach walks in and he calls me and Cap out immediately and I have to put my phone back into the locker ,reluctantly and I join Cap and we go out on the field.

Cap pats my shoulder as he says – “don’t worry about it…”

I take a deep breath as I admit honestly – “ I am not worried today Cap, because I have decided to give them a piece of my mind today incase they get too absurd with their questions..i have stayed silent before..but I am not going to stay silent today..”

I step onto the field and we walk towards the Dug out where Das sir and our bowling coach is sitting and I look up towards the Camera’s zooming in on us.

I am sure My Sunshine will catch onto the expression my eyes have just tried to convey to her – as I shrug my shoulders and shake my head a little as I silently gesture – I’m sorry for this Sunshine!!

Khushi’s POV

CAPE TOWN – 3:45 PM

OK THEN.

SOOO HOODIE GUY HAS KIND OFF UNLEASHED A DIFFERENT LEVEL OF CARNAGE TODAY AT MY COUNTRIE’S BOWLERS FOR REAL.

I CANT STOP GRINNING THOUGH IN EXCITEMENT.

SO YES.

I HAVE HAD MY EYES GLUED TO THE PROJECTOR SCREEN EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN WORKING NON STOP.

I MEAN WE WERE EXPECTING A FULL HOUSE – BUT LITERALLY GUYS – ITS REALLY LIKE AMAZING TO HAVE A FULL HOUSE FOR REAL ON THE FIRST DAY!

WE’V BEEN JAMM PACKED SINCE MORNING.

AND I HONESTLY CANT STOP GRINNING.

BECAUSE I AM SO SO SO HAPPYYY!

THE SCREENING IDEA IS A HIT OBVIOUSLY AND WE HAVE MEMBERS SITTING ON BOTH THE SEATING SECTIONS THAT WE HAVE KIND OF ZONED OUT FOR SOUTH AFRICA AND INDIA AND THE ATMOSPHERE HAS BEEN CRAZY AND AMAZING.

LIKE VARUN WONT STOP GRINNING.

AND TO BE HONEST – EVEN I HAVENT STOPPED GRINNING EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN STANDING NON STOP AT THE TILL AND HELPING EVERYONE WORK UP THE ORDERS TO AND ALSO PASSING ON ORDERS TO THE KITCHEN.(So we had a medium sized room next to the backoffice which we used to use for a little chilling area and stocking up for supplies – we converted it into a medium sized full fledged working kitchen that we knew we would need because we were now starting on with lunch and dinner dishes as well.)

AND GUYS.

MY HOODIE GUY – HE HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT TODAY!

CARNAGE YAAAA..WHAT MASSIVE CRICKETING CARNAGE!!!

MY EYES FALL ON THE PROJECTOR SCREEN AGAIN AS THE MATCH HIGHLIGHTS CONTINUE FROM THE FIRST INNINGS – AND AS THEY SHOW HIM FIRING THOSE UPPERCUTS IN THE SECOND LAST OVER AND HIM KISSING ON HIS BAT (RIGHT OVER MY SECRET CODED MESSAGE) AFTER HE COMPLETED HIS CENTURY AND RAISED HIS BAT HIGH TO THE CROWD – AND MY HEART SWELLS IN HAPPINESS AGAIN.

I KNOW I KNOW.

I UNDERSTAND.

HES GETTING ALL CHEEKY ON THE PITCH PURPOSELY TODAY – BECAUSE HE KNOWS I AM WATCHING AND I WILL CATCH ONTO THIS.

GOSH I LOVE HIM.

The que for lunch time has kind of thined out now and I ask Stacy to take the till as I feel I need to sit and take a bite to eat for lunch and I walk to the kitchen and I pick on my ASR’s Yorker Chicken Steak that I had asked our new chef to prepare for me for lunch and I walk to the front and take a seat next to a grinning Rahul as he finishes eating his lunch.

RAHUL IS HERE OFCOURSE!

OH.

AND HE CANT STOP GRINNING TOO.

HES BEEN HELPING US OUT COMPLETELY AND OFCOURSE HE IS ALSO GLUED TO THE SCREENING IN BETWEEN AND HE LITERALLY COULDN’T STOP JUMPING IN HAPPINESS IN THE LAST TWO OVERS.

He laces his hand around my shoulder as he gives me a wink – “ hey you donkey…this is such a hit..i am loving it…and look at the crowd…you are freaking brilliant…”

My eyes fall on the screen again as they show the recap of Cap and Hoodie Guy’s interview again.

Guys.

My heart is like full on in Happy Carnage Mode.

Just look at him ya!

He looks so Happppppyyyyyy!!!

And why shouldn’t he be??????????????

LIKE GUYS – I THINK HIS BAT IS AS POWERFUL AS DUMBLEDORE’S ELDER WAND.

I am eating and I take a sip of some ice tea from Rahul’s glass and Rahul says with a wink – “ I cant wait for the second innings..although its such a big score..daunting for our home boys anyway…but the batting order is really good too and it’s a good pitch…”

I nod as I say – “ yes yes…you never know until the last ball…”

Rahul winks – “ yes and good for us if it’s a thrilling nail biting match…it will be amazing business for day 1..”

I grin – “ you monkey…”

He grins – “ and look at you..such a big ASR fan now yourself…I told you…you watch his game and you cannot like not be a fan…”

I nod as I sip on the ice tea again – “ yes yes..i know what you mean…now I know why daddy and krish used to be so crazy about him too…”,and I pause as I say with a smile – “ did you listen to that interview post the first innings…so humble and grounded he was..”

Rahul nods -  “yes, that’s a special about him and Cap both…atleast in the interviews…you never know in real though…I mean…”,and I am just about to interput him on reflex by telling him that we must never judge a book by its cover Rahul but he pauses himself as his eyes go on the screen as he says – “ohh look who just came into the VIP stands…Aisha Khanna…”

I LOOK UP AT THE SCREEN MYSELF NOW AND I SEE THE CAMERA FOCUSING ON HER GORGEOUS GRINNING FACE NOW AS SHE TALKS WITH HER FELLOW CO STAR.

And right then we hear two reporters talking on the screen – “ well well…look who stepped into the VIP STANDS…its none other than Aisha Khanna..i am telling you friend..these two got something cooking from a long time and are being very secretive about it..and this is the perfect hint to us again maybe they are ready to get things to light now and weren’t ready to talk about it last year..i mean its ASR’s b’day and she is here right after he played that brilliant first innings…his lady luck..let’s try to get her on the mike for some bytes..”

I GROAN.

I AM IMMUNE TO ALL THIS DRAMA BY NOW AND MORE THAN THAT – I AM VERY SECURED IN MY HEART AND MY RELATIONSHIP WITH ARNAV – I KNOW HE LOVES ME AND HAS HIS EYES ONLY FOR ME – SO YEAH AND I AM AT A POINT WHERE I DON’T REALLY KIND OF CARE ABOUT ANY RUMOUR ANY THIRD PARTY OR THE WORLD WILL TRY TO CONJURE UP ABOUT MY HOODIE GUY.

And right then I hear Rahul say  – “I am sure these two got something going on in between of them from a long time now..its like they are playing hide and seek and not getting it out in the open…and I think they make a crackling pair..”

And right then I hear the crowd cheering both around us and in the TV and we look up at the screen to see our home boys now walking to the pitch and the camera also shows Cap and My Hoodie guy walk towards their Coaches and I see My Hoodie Guy look straight at the camera and he shakes his head a little disappointingly and shrugs his shoulders a little and looks up at the camera again and I catch onto the expression in his eyes.

He has surely got the message about Aisha Khanna being in the stands by now.

AND.

He’s just tried to get across a sorry to me for this. For he also knows that the Media is going to have a field day with this today.

OH DON’T YOU WORRY MY HOODIE GUY.

I finish eating my lunch quickly and I gesture to Rahul that I will be heading back to work now and he joins me too as we walk to the kitchen and I quickly take out my phone and I text my Hoodie guy.

I know his phone is off but he will read it after the match.

Me : ohh don’t you worry Love.I know this isn’t your fault at all.Aisha is just there to watch the match ya! Let it be…and I know the media will be having a field day with this..but its totally kool ok?i know you will read this after the match.its going beserk in here at the café too…what a freaking second last over that was…you were brilliant love and I am so happy to see you enjoy yourself so much..my heart glows! And I also caught onto all those hints you were trying to pass onto me Love, just like I caught onto that look in your eyes right now as you shrugged your shoulders and walked to Coach with Cap.Lets talk as soon as you are free Love, because once you hear my voice you will know for sure that I am ok.dont worry at all.Carnage kisses.

I finish writing that bit and I smile to myself as I walk over to the till and take over from Stacey.

And my eyes fall on the screen on reflex.

And right then the screen focuses onto Aisha Khanna’s face again and then immediately next second they show my Hoodie Guy on the field in his fielding position and then the image of a grinning Aisha Khanna fills in the screen again as she is whispering something in her co-stars ears.

I chuckle to myself.

TOUGH LUCK AISHA.

I KNOW YOU DID ADMIT THAT YOU HAD A CRUSH ON MY HOODIE GUY.

BUT REALLY TOUGH LUCK!!!

LIKE NOT EVEN A 0.0001 PERCENT.

Zara looks at Asher from the back seat, as he is busy answering some emails and Zain is driving them to Khushi’s new cricket themed café – HIT WICKET YOUR TONGUE.

And Zain stops at a red light now and he looks back at her and she gestures her husband silently if she could start talking to Asher about it and he nods and Zara takes a deep breathe as she says – “so Asher..i was just talking to aasra aapi this morning..and she is worried about you and to be honest..so am I..you know its about time you get over Khushi..for you know there is no hope..whats the point, you are just torturing yourself.”

Asher groans.

He knew this would come up.

So apart from Zara and Zain, his sister obviously knew about his unrequited love for Khushi.

Asher keeps his phone aside and he looks back at his best friend – “ and I know you all are worried, but I am honestly ok…like I am tired of explaing this to you and aapi over and over again, that in no way do I look at this as self torture – do you see me upset or sad or depressed or whining..?? or for that matter even complaining that why isn’t there any hope???”

Zara shrugs but admits honestly – “ exactly our point…you look so normal..as if nothing adverse has happened to your emotions and that’s what is worrying us”

Asher looks at Zara amused – “ well that’s because nothing adverse has happened to my emotions Zara…”

Zara rolls her eyes – “ well you have fallen deeply in love with someone who can never be yours…”,and she looks at Zain as she asks – “ is this not adverse Zain?”

Zain nods as he looks at Asher – “ well sorry to say this my friend, but gotta side with the wife on this…this is kind off adverse..”,and he starts driving.

Asher admits honestly – “ well from where I see it, its nothing adverse to be honest, I fell in love – and I have felt and yes to be honest still feel this beautiful emotion in my heart for Khushi, but I am ok…and you know me..i don’t have a switch that I can just flip.switch it on love appears switch it off love disappears..i am taking my time to come around this because it needs to happen organically and naturally Zara..because if I deal with it any other way I know I will truly never be able to move on because it will come back to haunt me and that wont be fair to the person I am with in the future..so there is nothing to be worried about Zara, and please tell aapi that…I am just taking my time and I will be ok..”

Zara puts a hand on his shoulder – “well I understand but…”

Asher – “but what Zara??? Its Love and theres nothing adverse about it even though its one sided and I have said it before and I will say it again – I don’t regret this emotion and somehow I know it may sound twisted as in it does hurt to feel that she will never look at me or want me that way ever – but I have kind of accepted the situation and honestly I just want her to be happy…I just need to see her settled and happy with her Hoodie Guy once with my very own eyes like in real time and that will be the turning point for me I know..but until then...just let me be..”

Zara – “are you sure you are not giving yourself a false hope by doing that??”

Asher looks at her – “ zara…I would never do that, you know that..i am not giving myself any false hope, and like I said I am happy for her and I know once I see her in one frame with her Hoodie guy like In real time all happy and settled, it will be a turning point for my heart because I want to kind of deal with this positively,just the fact that she is happy and settled out there will give me the happiness to kind of kickstart things for myself again..”

Zara eyes now well up for her best friend as she touches his shoulder – “ I am sorry Asher for this to have happened..”

Asher gives her a smile – “why are you sorry?when I am not? I am truly happy that I got to know her even if its for a little shortwhile..”,and he paused as he admitted – “and to be honest Zara, I think if you truly love someone, you can never stop loving them, you just learn to live without them anyway…”

Zara nods and she says – “you are a good man..theres someone out there for you my friend..i am sure..”

Asher smiles at her as he says – “ I am sure there is..but I need to take my time in getting around Zara…its just something I need to do for myself…you know I believe in being honest to myself…that’s priority for me..”

Zara nods.

Asher returns his attention to his emails again.

He smiled to himself though.

Because in his Heart – he wasn’t worried.

He was happy that Love had happened.

He fell in Love with Khushi.

He didn’t know How.

He didn’t know Why.

He just Did.

And ever since he had realised that he had – he had also realised another very important fact and that was – that if you truly love someone, then the only  thing you want for them is to be Happy – Even if it’s Not with You.

Khushi sees the door open to the Café and she asks Varun to take over the order she was prepping of coffee and she runs to the enterance as she pulls Zara into a crushing hug as she says excitedly – “finallyyyyy….i am so happy you came Zara..”

So for Khushi – Zara was really like an elder sister.

And off late they had become very close too.

Infact this time for the Pooja ceremony that Khushi had kept in the memory of her Late family at the Radha Krishna Temple, a couple of days ago on 17th feb -Zara had come too.

She wanted to be there for Khushi.

And that had overwhelmed Khushi with a lot of emotion, naturally.

Zara hugs Khushi back and she looks around tha ambience and she grins – “ freaking fantabulous…this is amazing Khushi…and you never know…as I am going to now watch your screenings often…I might just start liking cricket afterall…and this player too..the one youv become a big fan off lately..ASR…you are wearing his jersey’s replica now aren’t you?????”

Khushi grins and gives her a wink – “ well he is fantastic and he does have some sort of a charm ya…diya agrees..”

Diya walks over to them now and Diya hugs Zara and she winks – “cmon watch with us…just you watch that perfect eye candy ASR on the field…you will know what I mean..”

Zara grins and right then Asher and Zain enter and Zain grins as he hears that last bit and side hugs Khushi and then greets Diya too and he winks at Khushi as he says – “ oh please get her to crush on atleast one player..so that she will watch the games with me..”

Zara rolls her eyes as she winks mischeviously – “ that’s my husband talking…ohh god…help me…”,and she paused as she gave another wink – “ maybe I will find myself a couple of players to crush on…don’t you get jealous then”

Zain grins mischeviously – “ ofcourse I will be jealous…I want your eyes only on me..”

Asher chuckles now and Khushi greets him as she says – “ hey Asher..”,and she shakes her hands with him as usual and she says with a affectionate smile looking at Zara and Zain as they now walk over hand in hand with Diya to meet Rahul – “ I love their banter…”

Asher grins – “ I know what you mean..”,and he pauses and he looks around – “ great job Khushi..this is amazing actually…”

Khushi grins – “ thank you…its been a great day to be honest..i mean it’s the first day we were expecting a full house…but its been buzzing…its amazing…cmon why don’t you join everyone..”,and he nods and she leads Asher to where everyone is.

Asher and Rahul greet each other and Khushi asks everyone what would they like to drink and what snacks would they like to munch on and right then Rahul groans as all the fans sitting in the south African side hoot and cheer as – a Six gets hit into the stands.

The pitch was a good one and the South African batting line up was also firing.

And the Bowlers had taken only Four wickets until now.

The match still had about 45 minutes to go since they were in the 42nd over and right now the Score was pretty decent.

SA was 275 – 4 in 43 overs

The commentators voice comes through – “ India needs a wicket and needs it now for these two batsmen on the crease are now set and from here its pretty gettable as in 68 runs in 42 balls…pretty chasable since we see that the pitch is offering no relief to bowlers today, it didn’t offer any to the south African bowlers and the same goes for the Indian team…the skipper is in deep thought over what to do next…he knows these two can get the big shots..”

Rahul looks at Zain as he admits – “ well I am always conflicted when our home boys play India…”

Zain grins – “ I know what you mean..”

Asher – “ well it could go either way for now…its interesting actually because after the first innings I thought India has this…but it looks like it will go to the end…which makes it more fun to watch….”

Khushi grins as she is now about to walk back to the counter and right then she hers Diya say to Zara – “ see that one at the boundary cover just straightening his cap after smiling and waving at the fans behind..that is ASR, and its his b’day today and I think he is so happy because his secret girlfriend Aisha Khanna is in the stands too..”

Khushi groans.

SHE REALLY WANTED DIYA AND RAHUL – TO STOP SHIPPING HOODIE GUY AND AISHA.

Asher asks inquisitively – “ really is that on? I mean I read about this like long ago but then it simmered down…I thought it was just a baseless rumour…”

Diya – “well I thought so too but maybe not..i mean I totally think she came for him especially…”

Khushi just returns her attention to work and she smiles to herself as she starts prepping on the ASR’s UpperCut Coffee shot – for Asher and Zain and the Ponting’s Peach Ice tea for Zara.

Khushi’s POV

OK GUYS.

SO I QUICKLY ASK JACK AND Stacy and Priyanka to take over from me now as I tell them with a smile – “ last 13 balls guys…I need to sit and watch the match..”

Jack grins – “ no worries…we aren’t crazy cricket fans but I am loving the feel of this already..”

Stacey winks at her – “ totatlly Khushi…this is such a hit..”

Priyanka starts prepping on orders – “and Varun tells me that the Cricketing season is in full swing now..so good for us..”

I nod with a smile – “ I know guys…”

And I quickly make my way to the round table near to the front of the projector screen where everyone is sitting- everyone as in Diya, Rahul, Zain, Zara and Asher and Varun too.

I told him to take a little break when India started into the 45th over.

Because if I didn’t allow him to sit and watch he was literally going to mess up the orders at the backend for his mind was totally into the game.

He was really tense.

But somehow – I wasn’t tense.

Because I could still see My hoodie Guy and his team giving their best shot in the field.

I pull up a seat right behind Zara in the rounded corner of the table and my eyes fall on the screen and I hear Rahul’s tense voice – “freaking 13 balls and they are at 299 like just the position India was in right before the last two overs…and we all know these two can fire..”

Varun groans – “bummer ya…I thought India had this…and its ASR’s bday also today..”

Diya glares at him – “ ohh stop being so negative Varun..its never over until the last ball..”

Zain nods sipping his beer now – “ totally…one wicket and the game will change..”

Asher sips on his beer too – “ exactly…13 balls..you need just one or two for one or two wickets..im getting a hunch that India is going to win this anyway…the pressure is catching onto our boys, you know since its still 44 runs needed in 12 balls…that’s huge..”

Zara sips on her drink too – “ okk guys..this is actually fun..”

I grin now and I look at the screen.

And I see our team player take a single now and Varun gronas – “great now 300 in 48 overs…and he is all set to fire now…I can sense it…”

Right then the commentators voice comes through – “ ohh what a game has it been…nail biting..thrilling..we are all on our edge of our seats…for this is exactly where India was at the end of 48 overs and these two batsmen can hit Big too and the Indian Skipper is in deep thought on who to hand over the ball too since Ravi is bowled out his overs already and so have his other main bowlers as he tried to bring them in early in hope of that wicket…and now main two overs in the death…lets see who the Skipper will go to…”

And right then I see Cap calling out to My Hoodie Guy from his position at the boundary outfield.

I GRIN.

OMG – HE IS GOING TO ASK HOODIE GUY TO BOWL THE MOST CRUCIAL OVER.

BECAUSE THIS OVER WILL DECIDE THE PACE OF THE LAST OVER.

ITS LIKE IV UNDERSTOOD THIS THE SECOND LAST OVER IS LIKE MORE CRUCIAL THAN THE LAST ONE IN A CHASE.

Rahul exclaims excitedly – “ oh man…I think hes giving the ball to ASR..what a risk by the Cap..ASR has never bowled in the dealth…”

Varun jumps in his seat excited – “ well he does have a wicket to his name already , he took the second wicket in a epic swing that clean bowled the batsmen…”

I grin.

The commmentators voice comes through again – “And what a bold move at this point in the game, the Indian Skipper has turned to his vice captain as he hands him the ball and has a little chat with him and ASR is listening on keenly to his Skipper for he knows that’s a massive responsibility his skipper has given to him,and they are having a very serious discussion up their by the bowling end…and ASR now nods at his skipper as he gets ready to bowl…and the Skipper takes his position behind the wickets…I am sure just like every Indian cricket fan in the stadium and the rest behind their TV sets in their homes are also on the edge of their seats..hoping that our birthday boy is able to pull off some sort of a magic…we need a wicket..”

The second commentator voice comes through – “ ohh id like him to take two wickets…both those hitters..”

Varun and Rahul grin together as they say – “ oh that will be fun…”

Zara looks at everyone – “and I swear If he takes a wicket now…I shall be a loyal fan from now too…”

I chuckle as I say – “ okkk guys….cmon..lets practice Uncles trick…hes bowling up…now…”

HOODIE GUY – YOU CAN DO THIS.

YOU GOT THIS.

He bowls and the batsmen hits it staright through the hands of the Cap for a four straight into the back boundary line.

The batsmen is very happy.

And honestly – I think Hoodie Guy would have been tensed with that hit.

But he is not.

He is still smiling.

And I see Cap signal him with his thumb.

WAIT GUYS – I THINK ITS SOME STRATEGY.

I CAN SENSE IT BY MY HOODIE GUYS BODY LANGUAGE AND SMILE.

Varun groans as the second ball also gets hit for a Four.

Everyone groans.

I ask them to just shhh and keep in mind Uncles words..even though the café is buzzing with crazy noise…and hooting and cheering by the fans sitting in the SA section.

The commentators voice comes through – “a four again…the SA skipper is happy he cant stop grinning for SA is 308…some big shots..needed now..a couple of sixes and the game is South Africa’s..”

I take a deep breathe as I cross my fingers in anticipation and right then I see him bowl the third bowl of the over and right then the batsmen tries to fire the shot into the air for a SiX, but it gets misfired straight above my Hoodie Guys head and to my surprise, I see My Hoodie Guy leap up into the air on reflex and he freaking catches the ball.

OK THEN.

WE ALL BURST INTO CHEERS AND START CLAPPING NOW.

YES.

I AM JUMPING LIKE A JUMPING JACK IN HAPPINESS TOO JUST LIKE VARUN.

And THE CROWD ON THE STADIUM GOES BESERK,AND THE CAP IS HAPPY AS THE UMPIRE SIGNALS A OUT AND HOODIE GUY GRINS AS HE PATS THE BATSMEN SHOULDER AND SHAKES HIS HAND AS THBATSMEN WALKS BACK OUT OFF THE PITCH AND HE DOES A QUICK GRACIOUS SHAKEHAND WITH HOODIE GUY TOO – AND NOW HOODIE GUYS RUNNING IN TO HUG CAP AND BE HUGGED BY THE REST OF THE TEAMMATES NEAR THE BOWLING LINE OF THE FIELD.

The commentars voice on the Mike – “unbloody beleiavbele..did you see that surprise delivery..what a swing off his arm..and that’s what he was probably planning in his head for the Indian skipper knows that its still difficult to predict the line and length and speed of ASR’s arm since he isn’t a regular bowler and the Skipper uses him in the initial and then the bginning of the death overs in between the 45 to 47 th over in the previous matches, but never has he been given the ball to bown the 49th and look at that trap he set for the batsmen, and he fell for it straight into the hands of this Superman whose just bowled and caught the ball and taken a bloody brilliant wicket that India needed….and India is back in the game…for that’s now a new batsmen on the crease and I think hes being told my the other set batsmen to just take a single and let him come to the other end..”

The crowds gone crazy in the stadium and they now show a image of a grinning and jumping Aisha Khanna from the VIP stands as she waves the Indian flag.

And just like I was expecting – they now focus on My Hoodie guy in the next frame.

Diya folds her arms and she grins – “ I am telling you guys…this Aisha Khanna is here for ASR..”

And right then he bowls the fourth ball and the new batsmen manages to take a single and everyone groans again.

Zain – “ ohh damm..this one is going to hit the big guns now…they shouldn’t have let him take a single…”

Asher sips on his beer as he grins – “ I love a nail biting finish..”

Zara exclaims putting up both her hands in air – “ that’s it…I’m a fan..i am a freaking fan…that was amazing…did you see that jump as he caught that ball what a quick reflex that was…someone give him a flying cape already…”

I GRIN.

MY MAGICAL SUPERMAN.

And we all catch on our breathes now as we see him bowl the second last ball and I think it’s the pressure that gets to the batsmen as he kind off steps forward from the line mistiming the hit and the ball heads straight into the hands of Cap and he Stumps him the very next second.

And WE ALL GO BESERK BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT WAS A BRILLIANT SUCCESSFUL STUMPING.

And as the Umpire rechecks for the batsmen foot near the line on the screen, I can already see My Hoodie guy jump up on Cap grinning because they know it is a Successful stumping.

AND BOY – OUR HOME TEAM IS STUMPED BEYOND MEASURE WITH DISAPPOINTMENT.

THEY LITERALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT JUST HIT THEM.

We all grin and celebrate as we see Cap asking my hooodie guy to continue bowling the rest of the last over because after the first ball..the bowler he had turned to for the last over kind off suffers a little spasm in his arm as he swings the delivery in full speed and loses his balance on his foot a little and that spasms his shoulder with a jerk and so Cap talks to the Umpire to let me Hoodie guy bowl the last five balls and complete the last over( this is allowed in international cricket)

And right then he looks up at the camera again and winks and grins in happiness.

I KNOW THAT’S FOR ME.

HOWEVER THE MEDIA THINKS ITS FOR AISHA KHANNA AS THEY NOW SHOW HER GRINNING FACE IN THE STANDS.

I smile to myself as I watch him then bowl the last 5 balls of the last over anyway and a couple of minutes later the game ends with SA – 315 – 7 as Hoodie guy clean bowls the batsman at the last ball of his spell and gets another wicket to his name.

AND THE CRAZY CELEBRATIONS BEGIN.

BOTH AROUND ME AND ON THE FIELD.

AND I SEE MY HOODIE GUY AND CAP BEING JUMPED OVER ON AND ZARA GRINS – “ KHUSHI CAN YOU GET ME ASR’S UPPERCUT COFFE SHOT PLEASE…”

I GRIN AS I WINK AT HER – “ YES ZARA..AND I AM GOING TO MAKE ONE FOR MYSELF TOO..”

AND I WALK TO THE COUNTER BUT I KEEP AN EYE ON THE SCREEN ANYWAY.

I sip on my coffee and I grin as My Hoodie Guy receives the Man of the Match award and Cap has just finished a wonderful interview and now my hoodie guy is called on for a interview and the crowd goes roaring before he can even start speaking and I hide my grin with a sip off my coffee as I hear the reporter ask – “ and you are beyond thrilled ofcourse..ASR..what a bloody treat that was…you always gift your fans with some good cricketing entertainment on your bday..i mean last year too in Cape Town…that was one epic game of t20 cricket for you…on your bday and today is too…”

I GRIN AS I REMEMBER THE MOMENT AND HIDE MY SMILE WITH A COFFEE SIP AGAIN.

Rahul asks everyone to hush down and I see my Hoodie Guy chuckle now and his excited voice comes through – “thank you so much and well what can I say…I just like to play in a different mood on my bday’s..and that game last year in Cape town that you just mentioned will always be one of my favourite games, and I have said it before and I will say  it again..i have a soft corner for Cape Town..”

EVERYONE AROUND ME HOOTS HAPPILY.

AND I THINK I AM FLUSHING AND BLUSHING.

I DIP HALF MY HEAD INTO MY COFFEE MUG.

He chuckles now and he looks straight up as he says with a wink – “ yeahh..you could call it Carnage…”

And right then he talks a little more as he congratulates our home team as always for such a brilliant game and the rest of his team too – and that is what I love about him totally – he is as humble and grounded in Victory as he is in defeat.

THE PRESENTATION FINISHES AND THE TEAM IS NOW STARTING TO WALK OFF THE FIELD AND I SMILE TO MYSELF AS I GET UP FROM MY SEAT FOR I KNOW MY PHONE IS GOING TO BUZZ WITH HIS TEXT SOON AS HE HITS THE LOCKER ROOM.

And right then I hear Rahul’s  excited voice – “oh wait guys…the drama isn’t over yet…look at that Aisha Khanna just walked onto the field to congratulate the team and you can see her pulling the man of the hour ASR into a side hug, and he’s gestured her to come onto a side for a little chat and a group of reporters are now piling around them for a byte…they are not going to let these two off the pitch today..”

I turn around on reflex and I see the full focus on the screen on My Hoodie Guy and Aisha deep in conversation and she does have a amused smile on her face as she listens to him and I cant help but wonder what is it that My Hoodie Guy is telling her.

And I take my seat back on reflex because now My hoodie Guy has looked up and he has a happy grin up his face and his expression tells me that he is upto something.

And we now see two reporters from the entertainment dailies step in front of Aisha and My hoodie Guy as hoodie guy now asks Aisha to come and stand in one frame like right next to him and the reporter asks aisha excited – “ well, we were speculating if you were here exclusively for ASR, and we were trying to get you on the mike but you refused to give us a byte…and we are glad because we now get the two of you together..so tell us are you both finally ready to reveal to the world whats been cooking in between the two of you for a long time now..”

My Hoodie guy chuckles now as he says into the other reporters mike – “ really…from where do you guys even get these stories…”

The reporter looks at him excited – “ well you never talk about your personal life ASR..so we gotta keep speculating…are you going to talk to us now..”

I see him fold his hands as he grins sheepishly and Aisha says into the Mike – “ well to get things straight and on record like on Mike..i am here for the match because I was in Chandigarh for a shoot and I am big fan of cricket and of ASR ofcourse..and the rest of the team…and the fact that we are old acquaintances and our mothers are friends does not mean that there is something cooking in between of us…for their never was…”

I take advantage of the situation of all of them being all lost in their excited guessing game and I just excuse myself silently and I run up to my Studio at the speed of light , straight into the washroom and I wash my face with cold water like a hundred times.
