Chapter 21

Part 22:

They   went  to the shore. There was not a single person around. The moon light  was enough to make everything visible.  It felt strange to be near the sea at this time of night. Raj wondered what on the earth made her   to come here at this time. He was a bit annoyed with her for disturbing his sleep and bringing here at mid-night. He turned to her and as soon as he saw the happiness on her face and the smile playing on her lips, he forgot all of his annoyance.

Her  face was glowing with the reflection of the moonlight on it and she looked like an angel. They were alone  with nothing heard except  the sound of the waves thrashing  on to the shore. She took hold of his  hand  and  led  him near the boats that were at the shore. They leaned   on the side of the boat sitting   on the sand with waves  gently  wetting their feet. She leaned  on his shoulder silently watching the waves .He observed her silently, he never saw her , this peaceful or happy before. He  took her hand  and pressed it onto his chest, content to be with her.

She started talking " I had this dream since a long time,  to spend time  near the sea at mid-night  , to share these moments with a very special person in my life whom I can love so dearly, more than my life, share anything and everything,  keep those precious moments in my heart forever.  Raj, I…" her voice trembled and he looked at her  anxiously. He was shocked to see the tears in her eyes.

He cupped her face in his palms and looked into her eyes."What happened naina? "  he asked gently with soothing voice. She refused to look up at him .Her  eyes were downcast  and he held her close to him  and did not push her further  as he understood perfectly she needed some time to recover and she needed his comfort the most at this time. They stayed in that position for a few minutes and she started speaking again.

"You know Raj, after bhaiyya's ….  She did not utter the word as it was too painful for her , he understood her pain and caressed her cheek. " I felt so lonely after that. At one point of time, I felt that I lost all the happiness in my life and my life was useless. I even thought of ending it …He tightened his grip on her as he felt equally hurt with her pain.

 

She continued."But I could not dare to do so because I thought of my parents. I felt as a part of me was empty and nobody was there to support me. I could not even share my grief with my parents because it would add to their misery.  I pretended to be happy for some time with-out caring for anything, but I felt so miserable doing that because my heart was filled with sorrow. Raj! I have told you that I love you but have never told you why I love you so much.

When you came into my life, I felt  that I was not alone, there was someone to support me, someone whom I could trust  blindly. I did not realize when I started loving you but I understood that  you are the one who made me feel complete. My life was meaning-less without you. I have never loved anyone to this extent in my life. If you ever leave me, I would not be able to survive. I love you more than anything else in this world."

He wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. " I would never leave you naina, no matter what because I would be lost without you. You have created a imprint on my soul and we belong to each other. We have started a new life together.Now forget the bitter memories of the past . I don't  want  to see tears in your eyes again.  I want to see you happy always.Common on, give me a smile.

When he did not see any reaction, he got an idea.He took the wet sand in his hands and rubbed it on her cheeks making her completely shocked. He laughed seeing her shocked expression. "Naina ! you look  so cute  now" he started  moving away as soon as he said those words. Naina started chasing him with sand in her hands."Raj! I will not  leave you. "

He slowed down purposefully and she caught  him. He expected  her to pour the sand on him but she dropped it and kissed his cheek , leaving him completely shocked. "I love you" she said with such a love-filled voice that  made him melt completely. "I love you too" he said  holding her close to him.

They laid on the sand, holding each other's hands and watching the stars above them . They felt complete bliss and  they knew that they would cherish these moments forever.
