Chapter 8

Kumud cries. The background song is

Saras and Kumud are having their moments. Kabir barges in.

Kumud: What is this misbehavior? Can't you see the guest is here?

Kabir: If the guest is here you can send him as well. I can pay the double amount of what he paid

Saras: You don't have the class & are not accustomed to the high-class people.

Kabir: You are at the br****l and you claim that you are decent.

Saras: You are crossing your limits. Please leave before I lose my temper & you will have to face it.

Kabir: I've seen many like you.

He comes to misbehave with Kumud but Saras beats him black & blue, leaving him injured.

All others come & take him to the doctor.

The messenger said, "You leave now, we will take care."

Saras: I won't go from here.

Kumud: There are going to be some problems. So for the time being you leave.

Saras: Did you get afraid? You are now Pathan's girl. I can face anything that comes but I am going only because you have requested.

Flashback pauses.

Kumud: He went but had not come. I prayed for him to come back.

Flashback continues

Kumud lits the lamp & is praying for Saras's return.

Kabir comes. He said, "The dullness does not look good on you."

Kumud: When I have to face sadness in my destiny, how can I be happy?

Kabir: And if I fill your life with happiness then?

Kumud: You know what is my happiness.

Kabir: Yes, I know it is Saras & I have got his message.

Kumud: Tell me.

Kabir: First reward.

Kumud takes out her golden bangle and gives it to him.

Kabir: He told that he cannot come but you can come to meet him at his friend's place. I know his address.

Kumud: Please take me there.

Kabir: Get ready.

Kumud: What about Khanum?

Kabir: I will take care of her.

Kumud dresses up herself & is about to leave.

Molvi: Where are you going all of a sudden? Take your favorite sweet before you leave. By the way, where are you going outside the kotha?

Kumud: I can't lie to you. I am going to meet Saras.

Molvi: That Pathan guy? You like him a lot?

Kumud is eating her sweet.

Molvi: God bless you. Go fast before somebody comes.

Kumud goes to Sunny's place. Saras rides the horse and meets Kumud. 

She said, "My eyes are longing to see you."

Sunny comes.

Saras: Umrao, he is my best friend Sunny and she is.

Sunny: She is your Umrao right.

Sunny to Umrao: Saras utters only one word from his mouth & that is Kumud. Anyway, you guys spend some time. 

He leaves.
