Chapter 9

Hi,

This is for all of you who have wonderfully followed my fiction!

Well, all this part was written long ago and was posted on our orkut community LRL THREADS and IF! But I have posted it here, so that we can maintain a continuity!

I received a lot of requests to complete it!

This was my first fiction, and honestly, my favorite! I abandoned it because I couldnt come up with a worthy idea, and I didnt want to compromise with the storyline, and end up having unconvincing and stupid happeneings! But now, I have some ideas.............


I'd be grateful if you all could help me too!

I shall update today after months........special updates!

And then continue!

But only if I get loaaaads of looooong and super-looooooong comments from you!

He opened the door......his vision unclear due to sleep and fatigue.....his stomach burning due to acidity......he dint realize.....she walked in......straight.....she looked different.....wierd.....

"Tum....??"

"Haan....."

He attempted looking at his watch!

"Har kaam waqut ka pabandh nahin hota Major!"

"Nahin....tum itni raat gaye....yahan...."

"Kyu?.....aapse baat karni thi......"

"Tum....hmmmm....theek to ho....."

She didnt reply --------------------

"Maya....tum janti ho?"

"Bolo Major.....yeh sab sach hai?"

"Tum....."

"Jawab dijiye Major!!"

"Maya....magar tum kyun pooch rahi ho....ab?"

"Aap mujhe please bata dijiye....kyunki aap ke baajuka aur ek darvaaza to hai....main woh khatkhataungi...magar sach to janungi hi!", a clear conviction in her voice.

"NAHIN....TUM AISA KUCH BHI NAHIN KAROGEE.....kya karogee jaankar.....tumhare bachpane se kisiki zindagee...."

"Bachpana...Major??"

"Haan....bina kuch jaane....samajhne ki koshish...."

"Sach....Major....sach batayiye...."

"Main nahin janata...."

She stood up and took a step towards the door....her eyes motionless....with a million questions.....and red....with pain.....

"Nahin....Ruko!"

"Yeh sab kya tha?"

"Kya sab?"

"Dont you behave strange again.....you know what exactly we are talking abt!"

"Agar jaanti hain....to poochne ki vajah...."

"Istemal....Istemal hote nahin dekh sakti main apna...."

"These words dont suit you!", he was angry.

".....Mr. & Mrs. Rajveer Singh Shekhawat.....ahh! Kya couple hai.....sirf logon ko dikhane ke liye....sirf...dikhane......logon ko....Maya ko....aur....sirf...tasalli ka rishata hai....."

"Dont drag Maya in this!!"

"Hah! Dont drag Maya....dont drag Ma.....dont drag Naveen......dont drag Nai...."

"RITU!!!!"

"Awaz badi ma kijiye Colonel!! Is naam ka vajood mujhse poocho....aur ab to achha hai....you have dragged her in.....no..no....she has herself......batayiye......ushi ke liye mujhe bulaya........?? Ushi ke liye in 5 saalo main....Bin kaha....naam hai.....is rishte main....Naina....Naina...."

"RITU!"

"Tum janti ho.....sub kuch.....sab....sab...tumhari vajah se....par kuch nahin samajhti.....main chahkar bhi....Naina ko...."

"Bolo Colonel.....Keh bhi dijiye!"

"Will you shut up!", Rajveer looked murderous, "..janti ho tum....ki maine kabhi na tumse pyaar.....kabhi nahin.....phir kyun sawal? kis liye? I DO NOT LOVE YOU! Aur Izzat?? Lihaaz? Hah! Kis ki baat kar rahin ho? Main to tumhein milne ke baad in alphazon ka matlab hi bhool gaya hoon.....so please either leave me alone.....or do better.....Kill me!! ....because for me you are always a Compromise!!"

Ritu stood alone in the room, as he stromed out in the darkness.....

He had yelled at her.....first time in 5yrs......kadvi....par kuch baatein to hui....yeh chuppi to tuti......

.....she could feel her weak and baseless marriage loosing its worth!

Sitting there, on the couch, in Major Sharma's room, in Kapoorthala, Maya breathed for some of the worst and painful moments of her life….she detested every passing second…..she knew his every word is going to cling to her conscious for ever!

 

 

 

…..and Major Sharma carefully unfolded the truth….what he told her was nothing but the absolute facts…..nothing more, nothing less….none of his suspicions….nor his hatred…..however something told him that she believed him…..

 

 

 

….these minutes made Maya a matured….it made her a sister….it made her a woman….it made her feel every pain, her brother and his beloved went through…..something told her that….the stranger sitting next to her, is not accusing….not cursing her brother…….

 

 

 

"….aur uske baad Naina chali gayee….na usne kuch kaha….na koi kuch bata paya….shayad har kar….waise hi usne zindagee main bohot khoya tha….par is baar shayad who bardaash nahin kar paaye….uska vishwas….bharosa khoya tha…..is baar Naina haar gayee…..kisi bhi jeet se badi haar le kar….apna dard….apna chehra….paanch layer ke make-up ke piche chupane..", he gave a hollow laugh, and a tear tickled down her cheek, "….bechari, bhool jaati hai, ki gulabi rang lagane se uska phika chehra khilega nahin…..kajal lagane se aankhon ki nami chupegi nahin!"

 

 

 

"Aur Bhai….?", she asked the most dreaded question.

 

 

 

"Naina ki tarah hum bhi yeh nahin maan sake ki who use dhoka de sakte the…..KMA se passout hoe ke baad door jana chahte the….sab bhool jana chahte the….", he coughed, is pain was forming a knot in his throat, "…par jo unhone kiya….na hum bhoola sake, na kabhi maaf kar paaye….."

 

 

 

Hs hands held his proud head, bowed down. He had never cried….He always restricted his emotions, by telling himself that, he needed to be strong….for Naina….but tonight something made him burst out in tears…..made him feel that he wasn't alone….he wept…bitterly……eyes red….every word…..every tear reflecting pain…..

 

 

 

Maya sat by him….sating at him wide eyed…..she was too shocked…..too shocked to cry…..still analyzing what passed between them…….

 

 

 

She slowly kept a hand on his shoulder…..unable to find any words fit for comfort…..and he felt soothed….relieved….but he was too much in pain to realize her effect…..

 

 

She stood up…..and walked out of the room……trying hard not to believe what she had just heard…..
