Chapter 10
Naina slowly crept into bed with Prachi, Sonali had had dinner and left about half an hour back. Naina knew that she was heading back to another sleepless night, a night full of those tormenting memories.
And
Rajveer on the other hand went back to his thoughts,
It was one of those silly fashion parties again, Naina and Rajveer walked in together hand in hand, so finally they wouldn't get bored today
Ritu was there too, Naina found it a little weird but nevertheless she went and thanked her for what she had done that day,
Soon Rajveer introduced Naina to many of the big names he knew, there was another person, a friend of a son of a big fashion designer, while getting introduced to him Naina got the feeling of being scanned from head to foot by him, his name was Karan Oberoi, Naina found it best to stay away from this person, unfortunately this guy didn't want to let go of her, he asked all sorts of questions about her, about how she got here, when he came to know that she was Rajveer Shekhawat's girlfriend he did not like it
Naina realized what this guy wanted and soon wanted to leave, but Raj just told her that he needed to meet some other people who hadn't arrived yet, she didn't even want to tell him the reason, the thing that was troubling her.
Later on at the bar
"Hey Rajveer!!"
"Hey Karan! How are you, haven't seen you on the Page 3 for a long time"
"Yeah, I was out of town"
"Oh RealliY"
"Ok, lets cut the crap, and get straight to the point"
Rajveer looked confused but decided to listen to karan
"Rajveer, your girlfriend is desirable, she is hot, sexy, and I like her"
"You know what Karan, just get lost from here before I loose control"
Karan just gave Rajveer a sick smile and continued
"Rajveer, im not going to take your girlfriend away from you, I just need her for a night, after that you can have her back, anyways you are going to dump her someday arn't you, and im sure it was thru your bed itself that she got through to here"
Before he could say any thing more he earned a smack from Rajveer
Rajveer was furious now
"Don't you dare speak about Naina infront of me like that you ******!!!"
He went to hit Karan again but Naina came in between and just dragged Rajveer away from there, reluctantly he followed her to the car, and drove off to her house to drop her
He was way too angry and he didn't even notice the tears flowing from her eyes, Naina knew that she was being kiddish by crying, men always treated women like items here, but what touched her was Rajveer's reaction, he didn't care about his reputation when it came to her, it really meant a lot to her, but there was also a fear inside her, she didn't like the intensity of Karan's gaze, it made her feel contaminated, and she wept through the journey, they went to her elevators and they got in, Rajveer was still furious, and as they reached her door the both of them got in, as soon as she closed the door, he gathered her in his arms
"Shhsshh don't cry honey"
She couldn't control her feelings any longer
"Why did you do that Raj? Why did you raise your hand on him?"
"Because I love you sweetheart and I cant hear anyone talking about you like that"
"you know what the media will do of this Raj? Do you know? And that Karan, he is an influential person, he can ruin your career"
She said this breaking into sobs
"Naina look at me( and when she looked into his eyes he continued) I love you, and I respect you, I cannot see anyone talking ill of you, and where my career is concerned I don't care"
Naina just went into his embrace and stayed there for a long time. After a while he broke off
"Naina I think I should leave now"
Naina was somehow dreading this, she wanted him to be there with her, she somehow was afraid about something, for the first time in so many years she was afraid of staying alone and so she had to voice out that feeling to him
"Do you really have to go? Cant you stay back?"
Rajveer looked at her, and soon understanding what he musthv thought she repeated
"Im not telling you that something has to happen between us, but I think I need you tonight with me"
Rajveer didn't know what to say he was just too shocked
"Naina are you sure about this, do you trust me?"
"Raj I trust you more than myself, and you are sleeping in my room on my bed"
Now this was too much to take, being at that distance from her in the night and not doing anythg would be beyond his capacity but then he thought about it, she was barely a girl of 24, seen a lot in life already, and she needed his support, so he just nodded in the positive
"But I don't have any clothes"
"Its ok, you can sleep in your pants tonight for my sake"
And soon Naina got changed into a top and pyjamas and went and laid on the bed, by this time Rajveer had taken off his coat, unbuttoned his shirt, he looked extremely hot, she motioned him to come and sleep on the bed next to her, a bit hesitantly he walked up to her and laid himself, she immediately hugged him and he settled his hand near her waist and gave her a kiss on her fore head
"Naina"
"Hmmmm"
"Why did you want me to stay back tonight?? Tell me honestly"
"Because of Karan, Raj, that man gave me goose bumps, I hate men like him who treat women like articles, who don't care for feelings, I was somehow scared if he turned up at home after you left"
"Naina"
He turned himself to face her and made her look into his eyes, tears were glistening in them and he continued talking
"I am going to protect you, however much that may cost me, when I say I love you to you I really mean it naina, and never doubt that, and ill bash up anyone who tries to hurt u, if its that Karan or its arjun"
Naina just chuckled and spoke up
"I am lucky to have u raj, no other man in your postion would have stood up to back me and my respect"
"Naina you are my life, and I cant bear to see my life being insulted"
Saying this he hugged her and the two of them drifted up to sweet sleep in eachothers arms, she did feel secure in his arms and felt she was in heaven
