Chapter 6

"Come here, I have an excellent idea"

And he dragged her in and switched her tv on, they knew each others houses quite well now because they always hung around, and he settled down for POGO after changing numerous channels at that precise moment she realized that Mr.Bean the Animated series had just begun.

"Watch him, he is  a stress buster"

She just looked at him in disbelief but then she couldn't just ignore him, he had a way out and she had absolutely no idea how to cool her nerves

After about 15 mins she was giggling away to glory

"See, what did I say"

"Maan gaye aapko Rajveer saab, aap to mahaan ho"

"Thank you, thank you, Can we leave now, I hope your spring collection is ready"

"Yeah it is"

And so together they headed towards the Lakme office, he had some work there as usual and she had to show Ritu  and the Lakme headstaff her designs

They co-ordinated their time with Sonali and and she arrived with Naina's designs at the same time as they reached the office

This would be the milestone of Naina's career and she was nervous but then she thought of Rajveer and his Mr.Bean and it chilled her and she went inside and displayed her designs

In the main conference hall all the main fashion designers were present and she went and took her seat next to one of them

And Ritu began talking

"Ladies and Gentleman, its an honour to be speaking to such big people seated in front of me, I Ritu Sahani the managing head of Lakme, as you all know, we were first tied in a contract to Delhi but now we have broken ties with them, its been a bold venture for Lakme and we have faced a lot of negative criticism but it gives me immense joy to see that we have so many supporters, and so with a month remaining for the Fashion week, lets begin"

And so one by one all the designers came forward and showed their designs, when it was Naina's chance she felt confident, Rajveer who was also seated there gave her an encouraging smile and she went there and displayed her spring collection  with a lot of vigour, it was one of the best and one of the most different designs anyone had ever seen, all were impressed.

And so after the meeting Ritu caught up with Naina

"Naina, we would like to open the entire show with you"

Naina was dumbstruck

"Me, how can I"

"Naina your designs were simply awesome, it will get the press and the people into mood and it will do wonders to your career"

Naina was thrilled and so was Sonali and Rajveer

A sudden tap on his shoulder brought him back to his senses and to the present. It was Sonali

"Hi Rajveer"

she gave him a short and sweet smile

"Hi Sonali, Where's Amrita, she should have been here by now"

"You know Amrita, no value of other peoples time at all, I never had this kind of problem with Naina"

And she stopped, realizing what she had said and infront of whom, Sonali was now a manager to Amrita Sawant, a budding fashion designer, with loads of attitude

There were hardly 5 days to go for the Lakme fashion week 2007 and it was Amrita's first time, yet she didn't have the vigor, the ambition that Naina had, comparing anyone to Naina was like comparing Gold to normal Stone so he dropped the idea immediately

And turned towards Sonali

"You can atleast tell me how she is"

"Rajveer"

She tried to deny the fact that she knew where Naina was and she had been in contact with her,

"She is fine"

"So finally, you haven't denied the fact that you have been in contact with her for all these years, Cant you tell me what happened to?"

She understood what he was trying to ask and so putting a hand on his shoulder

"It wasn't your fault Rajveer, It was Naina's too, both of you'll were too arrogant to accept your mistakes, to accept that you'll need eachother, I speak to her so regularly, but she isn't the same Naina as she was, she has changed so much and you, you used to be so bubbly, where has that all gone Rajveer"

"Sonali, you know how much I wanted to say sorry, but did she give me a chance, NO, I still love her, I love her loads, and will always love her and tell her that when you speak to her next"

"You know what, she tells me the same things everytime, how much she loves you"

"And yet you don't give me her number, you can see me dying gradually without her and you are not doing anything about that"

He didn't even wait for an answer and walked off in a huff

"You can tell her yourself Rajveer, when she comes here"

She said in an undertone

At that precise moment Amrita arrived,

"Hey Sonali,  Am I late?"

"Very late, Rajveer was quiet upset"

"Ohh, is he here, already?"

She said straightening her hair and dress

"Don't even try it Amrita, he loves  someone"

"Who, that Naina?? She is a closed chapter according to what I hear, he is handsome, she must've been such a fool to leave him, anyways he is absolutely single and I don't like seeing any handsome guy single for too long, just see how he falls for me"

"Naina is not forgotten Amrita, she still exists in his memory"

"Sweetie, that doesn't happen in today's world"

To Rajveer and Amrita

"Has your clock struck 12 as yet"

"Oh yes Rajveer, you know the traffic"

"See Amrita, I don't want to offend you but this is not the way a person behaves when he relies on somebody else's mercy, this is your first time at the fashion week I need to see some dedication from your end"

"Rajveer"

She said taking his hand, and continued

"How about a cup of coffee?"

This is what he hated the most, girls hitting on him, Naina's touch hadn't yet left him and he couldn't tolerate anyother woman coming close to him with those intentions and he lost his control and said with a sarcastic tone

"No Amrita, you can go and wait with the van right now, you will not be needed till  late afternoon"

This stunned her a little.

"And why is that"

"that is because I hav decided to shift your slot to later, so you can go and wait"

Her face completely fell

"and whats the reason for that"

"You were late today"

"So, I gave you a valid reason"

"you were late for all the meetings in the past, any person with a little sense and who gets stuck in traffic will leave earlier, but unfortunately I don't see that sense in you, anyways excuse me, I need to make changes in the order of rehersals"

And he left a bewildered Amrita there

from what Sonali could see, she could make out that Amrita was not succeeding at all, she tried to entice him by holding his hand, now that was a big mistake, Sonali had seen Rajveer going mad on so many girls, any girl who tried to touch him, after that brief contact Rajveer looked furious and Amrita came back fuming within moments

 "what happened Amrita?"

"He was so rude, he told me that he was shifting my designs to the end because I am late today, how dare he?"

"That's Rajveer for you"

Amrita gave her a disgusting look and walked off, but before she could go too far Sonali screamt

"I need to receive my friend from the airport today, I need the day off"

Amrita gave her a disgusted nod
