"Aab tumhe kaisa mehsus ho raha hai, are you feeling a bit better ???" [How are you feeling now ?]

"Does that matter ??? Just tell me whats the expected date for my death ?? coz seriously this pain is too much for me to tolerate'"

"Maine tumse kitni bar kaha hai kit um nahi marne wale ho , so yeh expectation and date chodh do ok'.." [How many times I hav told you that you are not going to die.. so stop thinking all this rubbish.]

"But !!!"

"Now no ifs and buts Dr. Arnav raat ko aayenge tumhara chart dekhne ke liye' now m giving u some sleeping dose , so go back to sleep"

And saying this she left , and the patient went back to his unconscious state.

It was in the evening when due to some noise Akash opened his eyes and saw a girl being brought into his room in a wheelchair. He found that the girl was allotted the bed next to him and soon he saw three people helping her in getting into the bed. After she was settled , she smiled at the others and they left , only two persons stood there one man , and another woman , probably they were her parents. He was watching the trio settling when he saw the girl tuning towards him and smilingly a bright smile and with a really cheerful voice said

"Hi !!!!"

First he was not able to understand that , that 'Hi' was for him , so he kept on looking and then heard her say

"Hi I am Khushi !!!"

That's when he understood that she wanted to do some introduction , but he was least interested , so with a sharp tone he said

"Toh mai kya karu ?" [So what should I do ???]

Khushi was shocked , obviously she was not expecting this  type of reply and her voice dropped a bit and she said

"Since we are roommate now.. toh maine socha ki'.."

"You know what.. tumhe itna sochne ki koi zarurat nahi hai' aur itne bare hospital mein tumhe aur koi room , nahi mila ki tum yeha aagayi.." [you should stop thinking so much' and moreover in this big hospital u didn't find anyother room that u came to my cabin.]

The way he talked with her , with that cruel sharp hinge in his tone , hurted Khushi a lot. No one til date has ever talked with her in that way and slowly tears started brimming up in her eyes and before she could ay anything , he said

"Listen I have not come here to make friends so its better kit um bas aapne kaam se matlab rakho.. aur mujhe disturb na karo.."

And telling this he pulled down the curtain between their beds separating himself.

He knew that he should not have behaved like this with her , but her cheerful voice , her happy smile made him jealous , and made him behave like this. He was dying here and she , she was busy smiling and making friends as if she has come to any park. Stupid Girl . He was busy thinking all this when he heard whisphering and understood that it was her mom , who was talking about his rude behavior and was even suggesting  to take a personal cabin for her and then he heard her refusing saying

"Aama uski koi zarurat nahi hai, hum yehi thik hai'" [Amma no need of it, I am fine here.]

After 15 or 20 minutes he saw Dr. Payal , she came in and without paying him a visit went to that satupid girl's side , he didn't knew why but he again felt a little bit of jealousy for that girl getting all attention , when he was the one who was dying.

Khushi was talking with her parents and was convincing them that it was ok , she is not hurt and that she doesn't want to waste anymore money by getting into a single cabin , that's when she saw a girl in doctor's coat , or to be specific a doctor of her age or probably a year older coming towards her bed.  Khushi seeing her at once liked her , as she was beautiful , a bit short heighted but still was beautiful and that white coat looked really well on her , there was her stethoscope in her hands and she saw her smile at her . Khushi too smiled in return and she came near the bed and said

"Hi Khushi !! I am Dr. Payal' remember maine hi tumhe call kiya tha'" [I was the one who had called you.]

"Oh so it was you ?"

"Ya it was me'. So hows u feeling now ????"

" I am feeling really good , Dr. Payal bas yehi ki mere haath aur pair mein koi sesation nahi hai.. and mai kuch bhi nahi kar pa rahi hoon'" [Except that I am not having any feeling or sensation in my legs and hands , its just numbness , as if they don't even exist]

Payal looked at Khushi with a sad expression and then slowly touched or rather pinched her on her leg but there was no change of expression on Khushi's face proving that she was not feeling anything . Payal slowly removed her hand and then said

"Khushi don't worry thodi hi der mein Dr. Arnav will come and then he will tell us , aage kaise kya karna hai'. Ok.. till then you just take rest and don't loose your hope , coz he doesn't like treating patient who loose their hopes in very beginning"

And Khushi smiled in return and then Payal said

"Ok now you take a little bit of rest' and I will go and check ur neighbor up" and saying this Payal went to Akash's side .

"Akash how are you feeling now ??? How is the pain now ?? thoda kam hua ?"

"I am fine'" he said very slowly.

"Kal morning ko tumhe kuch aur teast ke liye le jaya kayega ok' till then you can lie in this bed and rest as such as u can."

"Dr. Payal can I get any morphling injected please , the pain is just unbearable'"

Payal looked at him , b ut then she was just an intern , she cant take any big step and so said

"Akash I am really sorry but I can help'  I cant give you any till Dr. Arnav gives his permission'"

"Dr. Arnav he toh just'."

"Please Akash' listen if you need morphilings injected in your system then you have to wait for Dr. Arnav to come and give permission' and ya you also need to talk and behave with him properly otherwise he is surely not going to allow you , ok now I have to go home , my shift is over ." and with that Payal left.

It was about 9 at night , when a nurse came up with their dinner and Khushi's aamma came up to her bed to help her have her dinner , she sat on the bed beside Khushi and started feeding her. Khushi was eating and was chatting with her amma in order to distract her and make her cheerful , that's when she saw a doctor entering their room , and her mouth fell open and she kept on looking. He was young , tall and he was most importantly too , no no' too too handsome , even more than what he had looked in that picture in Google , and probably handsome than those bollyood heroes. He was breather takingly handsome and attractive . He walked towards her bed and stopped a few meter away and seeing him , her mother got down from the bed and stepped aside. She was looking at him , or rather checking him out ,. He was  tall , his hair was gelled up . not in spiked , but in a certain manner that made him look appealing . His stuble was probably a day long and he wore a pale blue shirt with his doctor's coat over it and his stetho hanfging right from the lower pocket of it. Khushi thought that La was right , h is really too handsome to be a doctor. He smiled a light smile and then said

"Hello ! Khushi.. I am Arnav , the one who will be treating you'."

Khushi hearing his husky voice looked at him and thought was his looks not enough to distract her that now in her list of distraction his voice has to be added too.

She smiled and said

"Hi !!!!"

She was obviously not someone who check out boys like this , or rather till now she had never paid any attention to any boy other than NK and now seeing this Geek God standing infront of her , she couldn't do anything else but to drool over him.

He asked another condition question

"How are you now Khushi ??? Any improvement ???"

Actually Khushi was busy listening to his voice and so didn't pay any attention to what he was saying and as a reply she just said

"Huh' woh'."

Seeing her not able to answer Arnav , her bauji came to her rescue and gave Arnav all the details , while he listened to her bauji calmly and with concentration, time to time looking at her matching things with the details her bauji was giving. After her bauji completed giving the details , he nodded once and then turning toward Khushi said

"Ok !! Khushi tum aapna dinner finish karlo'. After that nurse aakar tumhe aaj raat ke liye kuch medicine de jayengi.. after that tomorrow morning we will perform some important test and will see how to start ok."

Khushi just like a obedient girl nodded her head and he said

"Tumhare bed ke side wale table par ek bell hai.. aagar raat ko kisi bhi chiz ki zarurat ho toh just ring it, someone or the other will come ok , now good night." [Beside your bed , on the table there is a bell press it when you need something ok.]

And telling this giving another slight and tight smile and nodding at her father once he went towards her roommate's side.

Arnav went to Akash's side and picking up his chart from the end of he bend started checking it , started looking what medicines were given , how many injections and all when Akash said

"Dr. Arnav you need to approve me some morphiling for tonight, as my pain is increasing."

Arnav still checking the chart said

"You will not get any , you got enough for today."

Khushi was lying on the other side and was listening to their conversation , she knew it was bad to eaves drop but then she was not eavesdropping as all were reaching her ears.

"But mujhe pain ho raha hai and I cant tolerate it anymore." Said Akash, trying to control his burning hot temper.

Arnav was still holding his cool , but there was a change in his voice , it was surely not how it was few minutes before while talking with Khushi , now it was hard , confident and full of authorative note and he said

"Yeh uss time yaad nahi tha jab , tum excess drink kiya karte the'." [You didn't remember this thing when you used to drink excess.]

"Listen" Akash shouted making Khushi frightened , but Arnav didn't loose his cool , he for a slight second looked at Akash's angry and painful face and then writing something in Akash's chart , Arnav in his deadly voice said

"I am not here to listen to you' and it's a hospital so keep your voice down."

"Whats your problem???" asked Akash getting more angry.

Arnav kept down the chart , closed his pen kept it inside his pocket and then taking a deep breather looking at Aksh coldly said

"You ar my problem.. now just shut up and sleep." Saying this Arnav turned to leave when he saw that the middle curtain was pulled down and he topped and asked

"Yeh curtain kisne kheecha'" [Who have pulled down the curtain ?]

Akash at that moment knew that if that stupid girl complains about him then he is gone , and before he could open his mouth to say anything , he heard Khushi say

"Woh humne socha ki amma aur bauji yaha hai , toh unko disturn ho sakta hai isliye'.." [I just thought that amma and bauji is here , so it can distub him so I pulled it down.]

Arnav looked at her and then nodding slightly saying its ok left their room making Akash sigh.
