It's gonna be Forever

"So he finally managed to ask you out?" He smirked as Raavi rolled her eyes at her best friend cum business partner. "Yes, he did. We are going out for dinner.”

“Ah! Finally, Raavi Joshi is going on a date!” he opened his arms as if announcing to the world.

As Raavi glared at him, he simply met her gaze calmly. Finally, after a few seconds, she looked away knowing she could hardly do anything about his attitude.

"Why are you always so unendurable, you pig?"

"Well, you inspire me, sweetheart," he smiled his best one.

Ignoring him, she concentrated on the papers before her.

“Oh wow! See who has just messaged me! Your date wants me to be your chauffeur,” He said as he almost shoved his mobile into her face.

“Stop irritating me!” Raavi said as she pushed his hand away.

“Couldn’t this crap bag pick you himself?”

“Did you just curse your own brother, Shiva?”

“Would you please tell him that I am his brother and not his PA?” Shiva said irked.

“I know you don’t approve of him for me, but I like him,” Raavi said cupping his face.

“I know,” Shiva rolled his eyes. “I'll pick you at 8 PM.

“Thanks!” she said as she smiled at him and left the room.

It has been five years since Shiva Pandya met Raavi Joshi. Their minds worked alike and they had the natural tendency to pick up on each other ideas and to improve and work on them. They had a small start-up together and today, they were one of the top business people in the country. Along with business partners, they were friends for life, Shiva thought as he looked at a picture of them on his desk. They were besties, she was a very important part of her life. Only if he could tell her, he loved her and considered her as something more than just a friend. He never really dated anyone in the past few years. But it was clearly not the case with Raavi.

Shiva didn't even know when Raavi and his brother Dev became so close that she started liking him. Shiva knew she was serious about him but he didn’t trust Dev. He was known for breaking girls’ hearts and Raavi knew that too. Shiva was surprised when she told him that she wants to marry and settle down and that she liked Dev. She looked so happy that he couldn't tell her that Dev wasn't looking for something serious. Even though his actions clearly showed that he didn't approve of them together and even told her to reconsider dating him, Raavi said that they'll work it out.

And now, he has to drop her to her and his brother’s dinner date. Could life be crueler than this?

He cursed under his breath.

Tapping his hands against the steering wheel, Shiva waited for Raavi to come out. As soon as his eyes locked with the girl walking out of her house, he blinked.

He had always found her attractive but he had never seen her looking so exquisite and alluring before. She looked breathtakingly beautiful in the black Saree and the wind played with her lustrous hair.

"Let’s go?” she said as she sat inside the car.

Sighing heavily, Shiva started the engine.

It was a silent half-hour journey and, no one said anything. It was strange because they were friends and usually talked a lot. Shiva did steal some glances at Raavi while driving while Raavi was unaware of his stare.

“We reached,” Shiva said and Raavi looked out of the car.

He got out abruptly and opened the door for her, turning his back on her as she got out.

“Shiva, can you open the door for me again?"

Shiva turned around to find her with the door closed upon one end of the saree.

"I'm sorry. I'm not very good with Sarees…" her voice trailed off as he leaned in, his breathe fanning her neck and she realized she had stopped breathing. As he freed the end of the saree out of the door and closed it again, she tried to appear impassive.

"Still that didn't stop you from looking outrageously beautiful tonight," He couldn’t help himself whisper.

Raavi simply stared, too aware of the closeness they now shared.

Shiva smiled softly as he searched her face trying to figure out of he had any effect on her before his gaze dropped to her lips. They were soft and full and very, very close. And all he could think of doing was pressing his own to hers in that one moment. Will they taste the same they do in his dreams?

He turned away his gaze from her.

“Your date must be waiting Raavi,” He managed to say somehow.

“Won’t you take me inside?” She asked. “What if he hasn’t turned yet and I have to wait? If you were there then I would at least have company.”

Shiva wanted to deny , he was couldn't stay there and witness his love date someone else. But he also couldn’t risk leaving her there alone especially when she looked enticing.

He decided to walk inside with her.

As they walked, Shiva realized Raavi wrapping her hand against his arms. He turned to look at her and she just smiled at him. As they reached the lawn area, there was no one, it was just decorated with lights. Shiva looked around, confused. Has Dev really planned all this for Raavi?

He was lamenting in his thoughts when he felt Raavi leaving his hand. He looked at her, she had a content smile.

“I don’t even remember now, when did I fall in love. I didn't realize when I gave away my heart to the dumbest man in the universe. Yeah, I took my own time to realize that he loves me too and like an idiot, I waited for him to propose to me. But now I realize that I have to be the man in the relationship!” Raavi sighed. “So here it is, Shiva Pandya. I can’t believe, you - the most idiot, dumb, and useless fellow I have ever met has turned out so lucky to be proposed by Raavi Joshi!”

Before he could register what was happening, his eyes widened in surprise as he saw Raavi kneeling down in front of him with a ring in her hand.

“I know you think I am perfect. I don't want to be adored and worshipped, Shiva. I don't want flowers every day or love notes. But what I want is moments. I want to be loved not because I'm perfect but because I am crazy and stupid and stubborn and all those things that I actually am. I know you can give me everything, Shiva.  Moments of laughter, moments of care, moments of anger, moments of love. I love you, Shiva, will you marry me?”

“You... you love me?" That was all Shiva could manage to say.

“Are you really that blind? Or deaf? Of course, I love you. I always have. Here I am proposing to you with such a long speech and you are cross-checking if I love you. Just answer me God dammit, my knees are paining!”

Typical Raavi Joshi, Shiva chuckled. He kneeled down in front of her and pressed his lips on her forehead.

"I promise I won't give you love notes. I’ll give you cuddles, as much as you demand."

Next, he leaned a little and kissed her nose before whispering,

"I promise I won’t shower flowers on you. I’ll shower kisses as much as you demand.”

"I promise won’t worship you, but love you all my life. I love you," His hot breath hit her ear making her shudder as he pressed his lips against it.

“And yes, I’ll marry you”

Even before Raavi could react, he sealed her soft lips with his cold, hard ones. The kiss was a mixture of passion and a rare subtlety. It involved two people who knew each other well but were new to this intimacy.

The touch of Shiva's lips on hers was enough to liven every cell of Raavi's body. As she treaded her fingers deep into his hair, his tongue dwelled deeply trying to be acquainted with the intimate secrets of her delicious mouth. He felt her tentative touch on his nape, and her other hand gripping his shoulder in a desperate attempt to stay buoyant.

After what felt like just an infinitesimal second, they broke apart. They could hear their hearts beating with a new rhythm of intimacy, their breathing commingled with each others. Raavi smiled her brightest and leaned in for another kiss when Shiva stopped her.

"What happened?" She asked confused.

"My knees are paining!" Shiva said and stood up. "You are such a drama queen! What was the need to kneel down? I too had to kneel because of you."

Raavi couldn't believe the man standing in front of him. All she wanted to do was beat him to death at that moment. But she couldn't even kill him because she loved him.

"I hate you Shiva Pandya. I completely hate you!" Raavi screamed, trying to hit him. However, before she knew it, she was pulled into Shiva's arms, who was looking at her intensely.

"I love you too, soon to be Mrs. Shiva Pandya. And always will."

"I'll always love you Shiva," she mumbled, before she pulled him in a bone-crashing hug.

Smile was evident on their faces, as they awaited for the new chapter to start in their life.
