Part 1: Beginnings doesnt matter

A quick update for the reader, this is a FF of an old Soap series called Parichay, telecasted on Colors back on 2011-13. This is till date my favourite, atleast some part of it. and I have weaved my imagination to the base story.

A kind request to those who read this part, this part is quite long and might take sometime to understand the characters and the relationships they share. So please read this fully ... I know most of you may not be familiar with this soap as it was telecasted a decade back.

Those were the words in her diary.

Siddhi was orphaned quite young but her brother and younger sister has been her world, she never missed her parents all her life because of them. She met Anand Chopra and fell in love, not just with him but the entire family except for Kunal, his elder brother. Tragically Anand dies a day before the wedding sending a voice message to Kunal to take care of mother and his Lady love. The family doesnt even find Anand's asthi because of the bomb blast. Siddhi decides to marry Kunal to fulfill her love's last wish and to save Anand's mother.

6 months Later

Chopra house Kitchen:

Seema: You are bit early today? Did you two fight yesterday?

Siddhi: No Bhabi(turning otherside)

Seema: Look at me and say

Siddhi: haan, but it was my fault.

Seema: Since when is Kunal Bhaiya's fault yours.

Siddhi: Such mein!! (feeling guilty)

Seema: You know him that well, then why do you cry? See how your eyes look. Will you go to office like this?

Siddhi: I could'nt stop crying

Seema: Chalo , i''l put some ice pack.( moves near fridge to get the ice cubes) Why did you guys fight yesterday?

Siddhi : Raveena!!

Semma: Because of her?

Siddhi: Bhabi i knew that Raveena loved Rohit before itself, and i warned Raveena about Rohit's true nature and she promised me that she wont talk with him.

Seema: But you didnt say that to me? Didn't you think its about Vikram, my brother?

Siddhi: Bhabi! i should have told about it to everyone, but i was concerned about Kunal's anger.

Seema : And now what happened? Did she hear you? Didn't she try running?

Siddhi(starts crying again): Im sorry Bhabi, i had no idea that she would do like this.

Seema: Raveena is like my sister too right? all these 10 years i thought i was part of this family and you proved me wrong. Elder daughter-in-law came and i feel like a daughter-in-law rather than this house's daughter.

Siddhi: No bhabi, im sorry!!

Seema: Even if Raveena had eloped with Rohit , i would have convinced my brother to marry her. I weighed Raveena more than my own brother. I'm not mad at Raveena, she is young but what about you siddhi? You understand things right? You used to come to me for small small things and i thought you took me like an elder sister but i was wrong. Waah !! You are this houses Elder Daughter-In-Law capable of making her own decision.

Seema runs from there... Siddhi continues weeping... Kunal witnesses everything and moves from there.

Everyone is mad at Siddhi for hiding about Raveena's love affair with Rohit. Luckily Raveena got married to Vikram.

Siddhi's POV(in her room - weeping and looks through the window)

Seema bhabi is right, even Kunal is right to be mad at me. Even though he had no love for me, he had some respect and nowthat is gone as well....

Kunal( looks at Siddhi weeping, goes near her but then moves back):.Aye!! Ek cup coffee?

Siddhi(wipes her tears without showing him): Dho minute, i'll bring here.

.... Holds the coffe cup ....

Siddhi : your coffee..(kunal looks at her and unknowingly smiles)

Siddhi : Aap... I saw you smiling..

Kunal: haan... I wonder how many people are left in the world like you. Should be less, its hard to survive.

Siddhi: (turns sad thinking kunal is again getting mad sarcastically): I have some work left in the kitchen... I'll leave.

Kunal: not yet ... Im not done. (Siddhi doesnt have the guts yet to walk while Kunal is not done talking)

Haan, i know you hid something from me, a thing that mattered more to me but your intentions werent wrong. I dont know about your trust on me(Siddhi on verge of her breakdown) but mine is 100%. You can never do something wrong even as a pinch to your worst enemies, probably you didnt trust me enough to say what happened with Raveena(looks into her eyes) and i don't blame you, in the past neither of my actions prove me any good.

Siddhi(Tears fall as she approaches kunal, they face each other): No, its all my fault.

Kunal(moves two steps back): Dekho!! this is my favourite shirt and if you wanna cry on it tell me now-itself i will rather change and come.

Siddhi is really embarssed about the day when she cried on Kunal's shoulder, but she cant deny the fact that the only shoulders that she can rely upon is his. Yes, she used to console herself with Seema but with Kunal its different, feelings that only she can interpret.

Siddhi slept like a baby that night, and Kunal was relived of the guilt he held for long...

The next day Siddhi left for Court early and most of the Chopra house members were occupied. Kunal finally retired from his room to catchup with his work

Seema fetched his lunch before he gets into his Auto

Seema: Aaapka Lunch ( she didnt even look at Kunal face to face)

Kunal: Thank you!(briefly holds) And how many days are you gonna remain mad at us? And you know that everyone in this house is responsible for whatever happened(hiding the fact that Raveena eloped) but why do you show it at Siddhi. And no one is talking to her? Of all other you too Seema?

Seema: Waah kya baat hai Kunal Bhaiya, yeh sab aap bolre hain?

Kunal: Because everytime I took out my anger on her, I knew that you would console her or someone in the family would. (chuckles) You are comparing yourself with me? You are her sister Seema no matter what the world calls this relation, you were like a sister to her.

Seema: Haan bhaiya haan, she used to share me every tiny detail, she used to bloom around me when she is happy and weep with me in her low. What would i have possible done if she told me? She is here for around what 6 months? i have been living in this house for last 10 years bhaiya. Raveena is like a sister to me, aur how could i stop her wedding?

Kunal:Hey Seema! things have happened.... what could we do now? usko maaf karo..

Seema: Did you forgive her?

Kunal : only mistakes need to be forgiven and she hasnt done one yet. ( Kunal leaves the house with a content smile)

Siddhi came home early after completing her work at Thakral's Firm, she was engulfed with thoughts about her relationship with Kunal and why it bothers her so much.

Siddhi's POV

What am i worried for him? why does even small small things about him concerns me, and what if he doesnt feel the same way for me. I have been very expressive about my feelings to everyone i love but Kunal, sometimes i feel like crying my heart out and let him know how much Richa bothers me. I came here to save someones life, and slowly i see myself turning into someones wife. And kunal would never take me as his wife, yes it hurts me but more than that the way he treats Richa hurts me. I know he loved her in the past maybe still and why does it bother me.

All the while thinking about him i have totally ignored his presence in the room, he stood looking at me when i realized it.

Kunal : Dreams? Do i come there to? (Siddhi was atsonished by his question)

Kunal(looking at her panic): i was joking and i know i will be the last person in your dream, Can you make me a tea?

Siddhi (brings a cup) : Tea!!

Kunal: Vineet is not like how he potrays himself siddhi!

Siddhi: You went again to check on him? (her tone was little upright)

Kunal: haan, im doing this for Richa. you know right she has helped us with Raveena and..

Siddhi: and she is your ex-girlfriend.

Kunal: I was about to say friend. I have been lately seeing you little concerned about Richa. Is there anything bother you?

Siddhi: I trust you, the Kunal Chopra i know can never betray anyone.

Kunal: Thanks for understanding...

Siddhi: I am not done talking Kunal (Kunal is quizzed), I trust you more than anyone and maybe that is why i fear. You do care for your friend and i have no right to be mad at you but deeply im in a turmoil. Whenever you say that you visited Richa, some part of me is mad at you and some part is mad at myself for being such a fragile wife. But understanding our relation and where i stand, i request you something, Can you please lie to me whenever you meet Richa? i will sleep better. ( Siddhi's head is still down )

Kunal: I have some work don't wait for me (Kunal leaves the room with utter silence)

Siddhi POV

I have poured my heart out and still he went to check on vineeth. Will i end up waiting an entire lifetime for a man like this? How will i meet his eyes tomorrow ? He will continue his no show face but what will i say to this family? How should i convince myself? Is my emotion so unimportant for him? How am i gonna face the next thousands of night in this room filled with nothing but silence?

(That night siddhi didn't have the courage to wait for him.)

I woke up little late by 6 30 AM and saw him sleeping down peacefully and a small smile crept on mine only to fade the next second. Thoughts about previous night flooded my mind pushing me far away from him, i quickly left our room to take a quick bath and help Seema Bhabi with the chores.

Seema: Why are you in a rush to do things? Its only 7 am

Siddhi: No bhabi , i have some work at office and i need to catchup early!

Seema: I'll take care of these chores, you go get ready and make chai for Kunal Bhaiya

Siddhi: No bhabi , its not late yet. But can you make chai for Kunal today?

Seema: Why? did you guys fight again?

Siddhi : No bhabi , i will leave in sometime and i dont think he will be awake by that time

Seema: teek hai...

Siddhi reaches office and starts working... and then gets lost in thinking..

How long will i run away, if not now I have to face him around night....(gets a call)

Shilpa: Hey Siddhi!

Siddhi : Bolo Shilpa,

Shilpa: Tomorrow is Kapil Bhaiya's birthday and im planning to give him a surprise, Can you come here tomorrow sometime?

Siddhi(thinks): why not, why dont we give him a surprise tonight?

Shilpa: Will your in-laws be fine with that?

Siddhi: you dont worry about it, i will talk to Papa and Seema Bhabi.

Shilpa: awesome, then lets have some fun tonight. (ends the call)

Siddhi pov: What is wrong with you siddhi, are you trying to run away from kunal? and for how long will you do this?

Meanwhile at home ( 9 3o AM)

Kunal wakes up and looks around for siddhi and moves out

Seema: Bhiaya! you are late today

Kunal: Why no one woke me up?

Seema: Arey, why are you asking me, ask your wife na?(giggles)

Kunal(frowns): Seema Chai (looks around for siddhi)

Seema: She left early before two hours

Kunal: That early?

Seema: She didnt tell you?

Kunal: I think i forgot, And seema i'm getting late so i will eat at Canteen and dont make me tea now.

Seema: I told her that her husband wont drink tea made by me but she didnt listen... see now

Kunal: Your day doesnt start without making fun of me isnt it ?

Kunal POV

Is she mad at me? I should have spoken to her. And what did she even ask, haan she is insecure about Richa but. How do i make her understand that i dont love Richa anymore? how do i tell her that i can never give Richa the place that Siddhi occupies in my life. She wont understand my feeling and even i dont understand it. Even i demanded her to not work with Richa earlier because my prestige was hurt and probably siddhi is saying all this because of my family. I know Seema doesnt like Richa's presence and myself have heard Seema advising Siddhi to not bring Richa home. Probably all this is making Siddhi uncomfortable. Even i think its best to avoid Richa once Vineeth is sorted out.

Siddhi calls Seema,

Seema: Haan siddhi

Siddhi : bhabhi !im going to bhaiya's house directly. Its his birthday and Shilpa is planning for a surprise , Can you convince papa?

Seema: Achi baat hai, i will let papa know, and wish Kapil bhaiya on my behalf.

Siddhi: Bhabi ! one more thing, can you let kunal know about it?

Seema: Why didnt you tell him?

Siddhi: no, he is busy it seems, so can you let him know if in case he ask you

Seema: teek hai, tomorrow come soon naa, I will miss you

Siddhi: Sure, and i will miss the kids a lot.

Siddhi to herself: one night out of thousand is sorted.... uff

Siddhi writes in her room,

" First it was conflict,

and then it was denial,

soon it turned into hope,

and now an everlasting await"

Shilpa: Aye, what are you doing here chup chup?

Siddhi: Shayari...

Shilpa: ohh you are already missing jiju , is it?

Siddhi: hey, its my turn to tease you.. and who is getting married soon?

Shilpa: exactly!! Im getting married and look at you, you are blushing like a newly wed. Whats happening in my sister's life, kya romance??

Siddhi: shilpa... (Rotates her eyes)

Shilpa: im not small child any longer okey(giggles). And im about to get married so you can share with me.

Siddhi: im going to help bhaiya in kitchen.

Shilpa: since when you took interst in cooking?

Siddhi: marry for yourself and you will know. Im leaving ( moves hurriedly)..

Later seema calls kunal to inform him about siddhi's stay and Kunal is concerned on why she didnt call him.

At chopra house, Kunal feels restless without siddhi. Goes to kitchen to fetch water.

Seema: AAp? here?

Kunal: Why ? Cant i come to kitchen?

Seema: I havent seen you here for a while!!

Kunal: Haan, siddhi is not at home right, so i came to fetch water.

Seema: Aww , you are missing siddhi na?

Kunal: Arey, when did i say that?

Seema: Its okey Bhaiya, after marriage wife misses her husband and husband misses his wife, these things happen and i understand.

Kunal: You have started again, she is not here so you are making fun of me haan? Keep your fun with her, dont indulge me. (takes bottle from fridge)

Seema(smirks and moves):

Kunal: Voh, Did she tell you when she will be coming back?

Seema: So you are not missing her, but you still ask her wherabouts

Kunal: I asked a simple question, say yes or no!! Dont put a question back Seema

Seema: Bhaiya why dont you call your wife and ask her yourself, im going to sleep( walks away)

Kunal(mind voice) : Made fun of me but didnt answer my question. I can still call Siddhi right? Its only 11 pm, No its late. But i can message her. But what should i type? " When are you coming?"... no that looks very desperate.

" Where is my Kurta? and where is my black suit, i have a court case tomorrow and i dont see it? When will you come , this case is important and i dont want it to be messed up because of my dress"

The next second siddhi calls Kunal

Siddhi: Kunal, aapka Suits is on the top rack of your cupboard and your Kurta is in the next rack.

Kunal: Breathe a little, im not holding a gun on your head siddhi.

Siddhi( a small smile creeps on her face): No, I.. i was worried about the case

Kunal: mm(thinks how to ask her when she is returning) Havent slept yet?

Siddhi: Actually im not getting Sleep here Kunal, so i was awake.

Kunal: Kya baat hai,you spent your entire childhood there and say you are not getting sleep there.

Siddhi: Haan, but im comfortable sleeping in our r...( swallows the word knowing that Kunal is at the other end of the phone) Did you have your dinner?

Kunal: Haan, wish Kapil on my behalf.

Siddhi: Thank you!

A silence prevails on both ends, its not the first time they have spoken on phone but its probably the first time Kunal called her for a casual talk.

Siddhi: All the best for your case and i will hang the phone..

Kunal: one moment... actually Ishani and Anouki were asking for you and when you will come, what should i tell them?

Siddhi (Siddhi couldn't hold her joy that Kunal is actually missing her): Tell them that i will be there before the sun raises.

Kunal(a small smile unknowngly creeps): Zaroor !! (both end the phone while Siddhi falls in her dreams Kunal tries to sleep on his better, or Siddhi's bed)

Kunal's POV:

How many days has it been since i slept here comfortably. ( Falls on the bed) Waah itni comfortable, now i know why she is not getting sleep there(giggles to himself).

(Hugs the pillows and then realizes that they smell like siddhi, a mild effervesence of her perfume is all over the bed. Kunal rapidly moves himself away from the pillow as the reminded him of siddhi but slowly he pulled them close to his heart)

Why am i so worried and what is actually bothering me? A big bed to myself yet i'm not getting sleep. (He sits on bed and his eyes fall on Siddhi's photo on table and looks at it)

Now i understand why Anand loved you so much, and yes you deserve all the love.. (Kunal drifts into sleep)

6 AM and someone knocks the door.

Seema( from inside): Arey bhaiya ! put the paper in the box na, why are you waking us so early?

Siddhi: Sorry Bhabi, its me.

Seema opens the door

Seema: Siddhi, what are you doing at 6 am?

Siddhi: I just came bhabi

Seema: im seeing it, but why?

Siddhi: I know you are doing a lot of work these days

Seema: Wait, you missed Kunal bhiaya so much that you came here so early!!! What is happening between you two? He roams around the house at midnight and asks me when you are coming and you are returning this early. Weird husband and wife

!!

Siddhi: Sorry, please go back and sleep bhabi. I will make todays breakfast dont worry

Seema: Itni Kushi, what is the matter.

Siddhi : Nothing, today morning i will do the breakfast and you shouldnt enter the kitchen.

Seema: Pyaar mein pagal hogaiyi,,

Siddhi: aap bhi naa bhabi ( runs to her room)

At Sinal's bedroom

Siddhi looks at Kunal sleeping like a baby in their bed . Quickly bathes and retires to kitchen.

Kunal wakes up at 7 45 ..

Kunal (mind voice): Where is Siddhi? She told that she would be here. No kapil's house is far from here.

Kunal is shocked to see siddhi entering the room

Kunal: You are here? so soon

Siddhi: Haan, Shall i bring your tea?

Kunal: No, i will eat breakfast directly and leave for court.

Siddhi: Ok, i will get your breakfast ready

All the chopras gather for breakfast.

Kunal: Siddhi ! make it fast na, im getting late

Siddhi: Its ready, please sit

Seema: Wow bread omlette

Kunal: Ah after so many days seema, finally you are making me one.

Seema: Bhaiya, Siddhi is a vegetarian so i dont cook egg. But how come..

Kunal : Actually today its way good Seema.

Seema: I didnt do it bhaiya,

Kunal : Then who did?

Seema( smiles) : Who else could it be? Aapka biwi

Kunal looks at siddhi who is trying to wash her hands again and again.

Seema: Siddhi , What happened? Why are you washing your hand again and again?

Siddhi: Bhabi, a liitle bit of those egg got into my hand and it smells wierd

Kunal: Then why did you do?

Seema: Should be for you only Bhaiya( pokes fun)

Kunal: I didnt ask her for egg.

Siddhi: No, why should you all stop eating egg at home just because i dont.

Kunal: We do eat non-veg outside

Siddhi: But its your house and you can cook and eat whatever you like

Kunal: Tumari ghar bhi

Seema: Itna love even in fight.

Kunal: Seema, started your fun? Im leaving for court. Siddhi, where is my file?

Siddhi: i'll come one sec.

In Kunal's room

Siddhi: Here is your file

Kunal: And, the omlette was good( siddhi was on cloudnice), but i can make a better one

Siddhi: You cant praise anyone, right?

Kunal: No, your tea is really good, but i make better omlettes. I will teach you one day

Siddhi: zaroor

Kunal: ek aur, Dont do anything that would make yourself uncomfortable at this house, even for me.

Siddhi: nehi, main

Kunal: Its getting late ( They both part for work)

------------- At Kunal's office----------------

Batiwalla: Hey Kunal, i need a small favour from you. And you shouldnt deny it.

Kunal: Tell me what you want sir, i will decide

Batiwalla: You have to serve a notice to Thakral and Associates and you need to handle a Divorce case.

Kunal: Serving notice to Thalkral is my pleasure, and regarding that Divorce case sir, you see i dont personally like taking those cases.

Batiwalla: poora tho sunlo, Serve that notice to Thakral by yourself. That means you have to visit his office and hand it to him, and about that Divorce case, its for my daughter.

Kunal: I'm sorry sir, I thought..

Batiwalla: I still want her to rethink her decision, but ..

Kunal: But what sir?

Batiwalla(smiles): One day once you become a father to daughter you will understand, no father can deny her daughters wish and happiness. And i cant convince her.

Kunal: Teek hai sir, i will see what i can do.

Batiwalla: Thanks Kunal , and take off the rest of the day.

Kunal: Thank you sir.

AT Thakral's office

Kunal enters Thakral's office during lunch break and finds none.

Peon: Sir, How can i help you?

Kunal: Where is Thakral?

Peon: Sir, Thakral sir is in a meeting , it will take minimum 30 mins to complete it.

Kunal: I cant wait 30 mins for him, im leaving (smirks and leaves)

Siddhi: Kunal! aap?

Kunal: Siddhi!, oh actually i came here to serve a notice to Thakral and idiot is pretending to be busy.

Siddhi: No , actually he is in a meeting.

Kunal: I dont care if he is in meeting or simply sitting, actually im going home.

Siddhi: Without serving notice?

Kunal: Ah, i have promised Batiwalla sir that i will serve but looking at Thakral is a sin, how do you do that daily. (then understands why she is still working here). urrh, you are not going for lunch?

Siddhi: Actually i didnt get my lunch.

Kunal: Koi baat nehi, chalo we will eat out, there is a veg restaurant around the place.

Siddhi: voh..

Kunal: Kya?

Siddhi: Lets go

At the restaurant

Siddhi: This place looks little costly

Kunal: Speaking like Gaurav, hey we are out literally for the first time and not going out daily.

Siddhi: No, i didnt mean like that...(Kunal doesnt let her complete like always)

Kunal: Today im not ordering, you choose whatever you like.

Siddhi order something for both of them.

Kunal: And ...mm.. voh..how is food? ( wants to talk about the night when Siddhi expressed her concerns about Richa)

Siddhi: For the first time you are holding something that you wanna say.

Kunal: mind reading, mm i was about to ask about Shilpa, how is the engagement cermony preparations coming up? Is there something that i can help with?

Siddhi: Its planned for this weekend, and bhaiya is taking care of it. Nowadays Shilpa asks about you often. She is quite fond of you.

Kunal: She is my favourite girl in your family. Achi ladki hai

Siddhi (swirls her eye balls):

Kunal: Matlab, after you ( Both laugh togather )

Siddhi: Kunal, Raveena ki ..

Kunal: bas ,Your lunch is done right?

Siddhi: Hear me completely please..

Kunal: Whatever i had to do for Raveena is done, and now she is married to Vikram, and there is nothing im concerned about. Just dont spoil my mood Siddhi !! Waiter bill please(very loud)

Kunal and siddhi leave without a word.

Kunal serves notice to thakral and moves from there without a word. Kunal meets Batiwalla's daughter the same day to have a chat over coffee.

Kunal: Hey im Kunal Chopra, your lawyer in this case.

Sonia: Sonia here, heard about you a lot from my father. He is sending his best guy to persuade me against this divorce.

Kunal: No one can persuade a strong mind neither I .

Sonia: well, what do we actually do here then?

Kunal: But im curious what forces you to make this call. This will help me file a better case , the better the case the easier is the process of getting divorced soon.

Sonia: Its mutual

Kunal: Exactly why? Domestic violence? Physical or mental abuse? Or affair?

Sonia: No, god. He is a very geniuene guy, and as i stated its mutual.

Kunal: And why suddenly divorce, after spending one year?

Sonia: I tried a lot, it was a marriage of convience for us. But i tried a lot to actually make one good marriage out of it and that is where i was wrong. Maybe only i was in it, not him.

Kunal: Have you tried talking to him about this?

Sonia: I did with every single action. Do you know what before marriage i didnt even know how to cook but i learnt for him. Not till this day my dad has raised his voice loud against me but sometimes he used to do but i have accepted him the way he is. (Kunal is now flooded with siddhi's thought)

Kunal: Why dont you go back and try once again?

Sonia: I have tried it one year Kunal, you probably dont get what im telling maybe because you have a partner who listens to you, who is actually emoitionally attached to you.

Kunal: So he never care for you?

Sonia: He did, because i was his responsibility. He never took me out or laughed out his heart, sometimes i feel like im sharing my life with a stranger. You should have met me an year ago, i was care-free full of life.

Kunal: So, he didnt treat you with respect ?

Sonia: All i wanted was him to treat me with love.

Kunal: So you loved him but he didnt.

Sonia: To put bluntly yes, i loved him.

Kunal: If you love him so much why do you wanna leave?

Sonia: What should i do then? Live my life like a stranger in the same house

Kunal: Tell him, talk to him that you love him and how important he is to you.

Sonia: You say that he doesnt know that I love him?

Kunal: could be the case and when he knows it things will turn wonderful Sonia

Sonia(sadly smiles): I forgot that you are a man here. A women expresses her love in everything she does for her man. I did everything i can do , i leant cooking, i learnt to live in a room that is a mess , i used to wait for him until he arrives safetly even though its 2 at midnight, i stood with him in his high and low. In return i expected nothing big from him, i expected him to share. I expected him to ask if I ate when he returns late, i expected him to check whats happening with me.

Kunal: So you never told him that you loved him?

Sonia: Those are just three words Kunal!!, I have lived an entire year loving him and he couldnt understand how can just three words help him?

Kunal realizes that he has been just like sonia's husband.

Kunal: Im not sure if I can save your marriage Sonia but you have certainly saved one.

Sonia: haha, even God cant save my marriage.

Kunal: Can i talk to your husband once before we start the proceedings? And everything that we spoke remains between us.

Sonia: Sure, I will drop his contact via an email. I will leave now!

Kunal: Thank you!

Kunal was disturbed by the case, he returns and sits facing his rooms window thinking how he met siddhi, how he married, how wrongly he treated her. He didnt know when the moon came up.

Siddhi: when did I say that you shouldnt.(smiles at his behaviour) I'll go and get you a cup of tea

Kunal: No, wait just sit. You came home just now. Go get fresh, relax, rest. Sometimes i forget that even you work like me and infact more that everyone here in the house

Siddhi: What happened to you? Did anyone say anything Kunal?

Kunal: This is the problem, first time i'm being nice to you and you are asking me what is wrong with me?

Siddhi: Because i dont know this Kunal im talking to

Kunal: then you should probably get used to

Siddhi: Does this Kunal knows how to make a tea?

Kunal: You want tea?( narrows his eyes)

Siddhi: no no, i was kidding.

Siddhi: No i was really poking fun at you.

Kunal: Hey i wont eat you alive for asking tea. Infact i was thinking why dont i go right now and make a tea

Siddhi: No, seema bhabi is outside.

Kunal: Seema lives in this house so you will find her siddhi

Siddhi: If you make tea for me then she will crack jokes then you will get uncomfortable and then scold me.

Kunal: So you say that I scold you for lame things

Siddhi(mind voice): What happened to Kunal today, afternoon he looked completely fine.

Kunal: Seema, do not enter kitchen until i say so

Seema: What happened bhaiya?

Kunal: Im telling you na, dont come.

Seema: If i dont enter kitchen will god send food for dinner?

Kunal: ay im taking this kicthen for just 10 mins

Seema: You tell me na, what do you want?

Kunal: I will prepare it by myself.

Seema: bhaiya, again are you bringing liquor inside my kitchen?

Kunal: Arey, im here to make tea devi ji!! tea

Seema: I'll do, move aside bhaiya

Kunal: I said i will do, move

Seema : Hey siddhi , what is happening here?

Siddhi: Even i dont know bhabhi

Seema: Morning wife sends me out of kitchen and now husband, what is happening?

Kunal: You have started again isnt seema.

Seema: I havent started anything , you guys are not letting me to prepare dinner

Kunal: I have order dinner from outside for everyone

Siddhi & Seema: Such main?

Kunal: haan, and now im making a tea. If anyone want let me know.

Seema: siddhi can you pinch me? I think im still dreaming.

Siddhi: Two people cant have same dream bhabhi, its happening in real

Chopras at dinner

Raj: Today my happiness sees no limit Seema, bring all the sweets on my plate

Siddhi: Papa No!! Sweets not allowed

Kunal: Papa, i just bought some dinner for us not a suitcase full of money.

Raj: Beta, this celebration is not for the dinner you bought.This is for the person you have become into and siddhi im in-debt with you forever

Kunal: Arey! i do the work and she gets the credits. Bas haan, lets eat the food without anymore drama.

Gaurav: Bhaiya, what is so special about today? Seema told me that you also made tea for everyone

Kunal: Seema you cant keep anything from Gaurav na? even after so many years you gossip about me to him?

Raj: Arey beta, even if years run love wont fade. You will understand it one day.

Seema: Papa we saw that today na, How kunal bhaiya gave his Tea to siddhi.

Kunal: Hey no more non-sense, just sit and eat. (The chopras continue their chatter and enjoy the night)

At Sinal room

Siddhi folds Kunal's clothes thinking what has got into Kunal's heart today.

Kunal: And what are you thinking about?

Siddhi: You..(stammers) I mean the food you ordered. It was nice

Kunal: I saw you talking to Kapil, is everything fine?

Siddhi: Haan, bhaiya needs some help so he called me.

Kunal: What help, I can be useful

Siddhi: This is something you cant help with.

Kunal: Kunal Chopra is capable of doing everything. Last month when we had Pooja in our association who fixed the fuse? And last week when the cooker handle broke who helped Seema? And ..

Siddhi: but you cant withstand Shopping right?

Kunal: oh..Shopping!!

Siddhi: That is why I told you that certain things cant be helped

Kunal: Why not? Its not rocket science, just hold bags.

Siddhi: Kunal ! im not asking you to prove nor i am challenging. I know that you dont like shopping and i understand.

Kunal: No, I am helping you with the shopping and the court is adjourned now

Siddhi: aapko marzi!!

Siddhi: And.. whatever you did today, we all felt nice.

Kunal: So you say that all these days i was bad?

Siddhi: No, You are interpreting me wrongly,..

Kunal: So you will teach me how to intepret also?

Siddhi(on verge of crying): Nehi.. I was just

Kunal: Arey baba, i was kidding. I know that was a compliment. Please dont cry

Siddhi: I dont like your jokes (turns the otherside)

Kunal: Teek hai, what about me?

Siddhi(looks at Kunal hestitanly): matlab

Siddhi: Very nice

They both retire to sleep in their respective places filled with memories to cherish.

Kunal's POV

Why do I feel so happy today? Are you really changing Kunal ? I dont see how i have changed, but Seema and Papa claim so. And why are you flirting with siddhi, what is the need. She is your wife man!!!! DAMN rest now.....

Siddhi and Kunal left early for their jobs to accomodate the shopping plan. Kunal had planned to meet Sonia's husband and complete few case formalities.

At VK Groups (construction company)

Kunal: Hello, I have secured an appointment to meet Mr.Shaurya

Assistant: Please wait over the meeting room , Sir will meet you in a couple of minutes

Kunal: Sure, thanks

Kunal waits in the room

Shaurya: Sorry for making you wait

Kunal: No problem. By the way im Kunal Chopra and ..

Shaurya: will be my wife's lawyer

Kunal: Both your lawyer, because this is a mutual filing

Shaurya: I think we have met somewhere else, i remeber seeing you somewhere Kunal.. where..

Kunal: Not sure, you see im not a popular face(chuckles)

Shaurya: wait, i got it. I met you at Vineet's engagement. You were there with your wife and your were representing Sonia's firm right?

Kunal: yeah,right right.. How do you know Vineet?

Shaurya: We are friends, actually we met in Sydney. I was doing my masters and i happened to be Vineet's roommate. In fact we both worked there in the same office and now I work for him. He is a funny guy but a good one by heart. When I came home to marry Sonia he also left Sydney and joined his fathers buisness.

Kunal: He wasnt here in India until last year?

Shaurya: He has spent almost a decade in a foreign land

Kunal thinks then how come he find old cases in Vineet's name, and then understands that someone is trying to frame him

Kunal: So you left your Sydney lifestyle to marry?

Shaurya: you see I had to do that, I was initially under a lot of emotional stress. At that point in time I didnt want to marry and I had a girl friend in Sydney

Kunal: You still have? Is that the reason for divorce

Shaurya: No, the moment I married Sonia I had all my ties broken. I am a bad husband but not a cheater.

Kunal: But why do you think this marriage failed? Because I see no sign of it

Shaurya: She deserves a better one, and im not one

Kunal: Is it because somewhere you still love your ex-girlfriend?

Shaurya: No! I cant think of another women in my life in Sonia's place

Kunal: Then why are you letting her go?

Shaurya: You dont see my love here Kunal, I love her so much that I even give her the divorce she asked for

Kunal: She asked for divorce?

Shaurya: Yes, didnt she say that?

Kunal: Do you know why?

Shaurya: Im a flawed man and there could be a dozen of reasons to it Kunal

Kunal: Why didnt you ask her for it?

Shaurya: I didnt have the courage for it Kunal, neither today nor that day. I couldnt persue my parent to stop the marriage, I didnt have the courage to tell my wife that I love her nor the courage to stop her from leaving. And atleast she deserves someone courageous. The problem with man is that ego is hurt, his ego is hurt to say sorry to someone and more hurt especially if its his wife.

Kunal smiles

Shaurya: I know that my situation is laughable but please dont do it before me

Kunal: Arey no, you closely resemble me Shaurya. But there is one thing that freaks me for being like you, I cant imagine a day in my life without my wife. When you think of that day then you will get all the courage to fall at your wife's feet.

Shaurya: I pray that you never ever face such a day Kunal. ! Well I have some important work that needs to be taken care of, Can we discuss someother time this week if you dont mind.

Kunal: Absolutely!

At the end of the chat Kunal finds that he is 20 mins late , he was supposed to meet Siddhi at bazzar for the shopping...

Kunal's Pov

Opps again Im late,Siddhi is gonna think that I wantedly avoided.Kunal reaches bazar and calls siddhi

Kunal: Siddhi, Where are you?

Siddhi: At bazar for shopping

Kunal: Haan ,which shop?

Siddhi: You are here?

Kunal: I told na i will come

Siddhi: Even i waited for 30 mins like that then I thought you wouldnt

Kunal: An important work came by couldnt push it.

Siddhi: No problem, we are in SareesAll store please come there

Kunal: We? Who else is with you?

Siddhi: Shilpa, shopping is for her na

Kunal: You didnt say this!

Siddhi: Arey! you didnt let me tell you . I was trying to tell this only yesterday night.

Kunal: No problem , I can manage two sister

Siddhi: We will see it, please hurry up naa

Kunal ends the call and reaches the store

Shilpa: Jiju, here, come here na. I'm so happy that you are here.

Kunal: Where would I go? Its your engagement Shilpa, let do some masti. I think I arrived late, so you guys are already done with the shopping? I can see 2 bags

Shilpa: No jiju, its for pre-wedding, I need to get a dozen of things

Kunal: I remember every word you told yesterday, Help your husband now.

Siddhi(laughs) : Im doing but you are not seeing it

Kunal: Is laughing at me a help?

Siddhi: No i'm helping her choose. If she starts to choose you will stand here untill sunrise tomorrow.

Kunal: Hey Bagwan... save me

Finally after tiring 3 hours Shilpa's shopping comes to an end

Shilpa: jiju its done. We should come again for wedding shopping

Kunal(sarcastic): Zaroor

Shilpa: I told siddhi that jiju is cool spirited and see siddhi how jiju is supporting. But siddhi you should have taken one saree for yourself

Siddhi: No, I have at home.

Kunal: Arey , you didnt get one for your own sisters engagement? What were you doing?

Siddhi: No Kunal I have a lot of sarees

Kunal: Chalo bhai, go take one for yourself

Siddhi: No its already late and you have waited 3 hours

Kunal: Haan i have waited 3 hours , so adding 15-20 mins to it wont make a big difference go get one. And take my purse

Siddhi is moved by Kunal's care and quickly looks for a saree for herself. And the way Kunal gave his wallet brought her the memories of Diwali day when Kunal asked her to return the jewel and later got her one from his salary. When siddhi opened his purse to pull some cash a small photo dropped from the wallet, a passport size photo of siddhi was with Kunal. The day couldnt be any better for Siddhi.

Kunal and siddhi made entry into house by 9 00 PM and seema was awaiting to welcome them.

Seema: What a surprise!! Seeing you two coming togather

Siddhi: We are coming from same place bhabi!, We did some shopping for Shilpa

Seema: What Kunal bhaiya and shopping

Kunal: Shall I stand here and explain all that I did today seema? Let us in mathaji, chalo bring me some water.

Seema: Please sit I'll bring nimboo pani

Kunal: Whats so special?

Seema: That you have to tell me, what is so special that you went for shopping?

Kunal: Started again? I dont want any nimboo pani, keep for yourself. Im going to my room, Siddhi bring me a glass of water. ( Leaves to sinal room)

Seema and siddhi starts to have conversation

Seema: What is happening? (teasing)

Siddhi: Even I dont know bhabi( blushes) but its nice

Seema: Hmm, someone is in love

Siddhi: Bhabhi !! you have started it again. He will get mad if you make fun before him

Siddhi: haan. Actually I didnt expect you at the shopping but Shilpa felt very good .

Kunal: Last time when I missed the shopping schedule I had to take a loads of lessons from my biwi, that is why I was there

Siddhi: That day i was bit upset about something else and...

Kunal: And you took it on your husband.

Siddhi: Galthi hogaiya, but even you used to do.

Kunal: And now you are pointing out at me? I stood holding your bags for 3 long hoursssss.

Kunal: Learning to live with it (chuckles, then looks into her eyes). Back then I used to hate you, I couldnt digest the fact that Anand loved someone more than me. (Siddhi's face turns pale on hearing Anand's name and knowing Kunal's hatred for her). But today I stand corrected. I didnt have the courage to tell you Siddhi, I cant deny the fact that you are an essential part of this family and .. and very important to me. I...

Siddhi's heart skips and beat to hear those three words from Kunal. Her impatience to hear "I love you" from Kunal increases every second.

Kunal: I.. (breathes out) am sorry

Siddhi: Sorry?

Kunal: Yes, sorry for all the wrong accusations I kept on you. Today I promise you one thing, whatever maybe the situation this Kunal will never fail to trust you.

Siddhi couldnt hold her tears, and neither could Kunal stop himself from giving his shoulders to her. Flow of unknown feeling brought them togather for a moment and both hugged each other leaving no passage for air.

Seema(knocks on door): Siddhi! bhaiya! come for dinner

Kunal and Siddhi move apart in a jeff realising their closeness, while Kunal stood there, siddhi swiftly moved towards kitchen breaking the awkardness.

Later they retire to bed reminscing of the days memories. As each day passes Siddhi's love for Kunal only increases, Siddhi has finally accepted her love for Kunal.

Another morning at Chopra house hold, Siddhi sips her Tea while Kunal is still asleep.

Raj: Siddhi beta, I need a small help

Siddhi: Yes papa, What should I do for you?

Raj: This week we have shilpa's engagement right?

Siddhi: Haan papa,

Raj: Have you invited all the guest?

Siddhi: Not everyone papa, but around 100-150 people papa. Arey, papa tell me what you want dont worry about enagagement Kapil bhaiya is there, and now a days Kunal is also helping.

Raj(smiles): Good thing, You have to invite someone on my behalf beta

Siddhi: This it it? (Raj nodds) Haan papa zarroor, who should I invite?

Raj(hesitates): Vikram aur ..Raveena. What shall I do, even if my mind instructs me not to think about her my heart says she is still my daughter. I have promised veena that I will take care of my children and i already lost one(weeps thinking about Anand) and now...

Siddhi: Papa, please dont cry. I have already invited them and dont even think about Raveena going far from us, I have full faith in Vikram and he will never let any harm come in way of Raveena. And you know who's brother Vikram is, after that you shouldnt worry ( seema hears just in time). I have immense trust in vikram, he was a great friend, is a good brother and will be a good husband.

Raj: Haan he is, but our Raveena? her actions only demean.

Siddhi: Sometimes love can teach us a lot papa, and Vikrams love will keep Raveena happy forever.

Raj: What would I do without my two daughter-in-laws (smiles and leaves)

Siddhi goes to her room to get her mobile....

Kunal(looks at the clock): 7 30 AM not bad Kunal

Siddhi and Kunal comes back to thier room aftet completing their respective task

Siddhi: Chai!(hands his Tea)

Kunal: Where is my newspaper? Im not giving that idiot even one paisa, not one single day I have seen it before 8. What is the point of reading newspaper by night.

Siddhi(chuckles): I'll talk to him. Shall I get your breakfast ready?

Kunal(moves his head in despair): No, I'll leave little late today, im going to a client's place.

Siddhi: And i wanted to tell you something..

Kunal: bolo(flips pages in his case files hearing to siddhi)

Siddhi: About Raveena..

Kunal(drops the case file on the bed): How many times do I tell you siddhi? we are not talking about her, clear?

Siddhi: But how long and what did she even do to deserve it?

Kunal: What she did?, She ran away on her wedding day, oh wait not just that she also eloped with the same guy her brother put in jail, and out of all commiting suicide? If something happened how would I face mom?

Siddhi: But everyone makes mistakes Kunal and we can correct them with love.

Kunal: Bas, I dont want to hear any leacture from you

Siddhi: Have you ever thought what she might be going through? Even she loved someone just like how we all did in the past right? But when married everyone was so welcoming, so understanding and now why do we do this injustice?

Kunal(gets mads): You are comparing whatever you did to her act? Know the difference between a sacrifice and a sin.

Siddhi: I agree the intentions were different but pain is same right? the path we took is same right? If we dont understand her who will know her better kunal?

Kunal: Her act doesnt deserve forgiveness!

Siddhi: But you forgave richa(Kunal is shocked), you used to be mad at what she did right? But now you ..

Kunal: Bas,.. just because i was nice to you it doesnt mean that you can sit on my head and talk any nonsense. And you did samething other day too but I didnt say anything, I just let you go. But the meaning doesnt mean you can talk to me like that again and again. And this Kunal doesnt need to explain his actions to anyone. (Kunal walks away from the room)

Siddhi weeps her heart out alone thinking why she brought in Richa.

Siddhi's POV:

What was the need to do that Siddhi, he was changing for nice and now. Putting Richa's names again and again only brings out your insecurties before Kunal, and what will he think about me.

Later Seema finds Siddhi crying in her room

Seema(worried): What happened Siddhi , why are you crying?

Sidhi(wipes): No bhabi , im not crying its the dust.

Seema: Dont lie, i know the difference

Siddhi hugs seema and crys

Seema: Tell me what happened?

Siddhi: We fought again, he is really mad at me bhabi

Seema: So what? Fights between husband and wife is common and if we start crying then we should cry the entire life.

Siddhi: No bhabi, I raised my voice against Kunal and he is very angry. And you know nobody raises voice against kun.

Seema: Its a wife's right(chuckles). See we all know how Kunal bhaiya is, from outside anger but inside he loves. Of all of us you know him better, Zarror he will talk with you, now you are his habit.

Siddhi: I'll tell him sorry

Seema: No one will fears their husband like you, but you also love him(chuckles)

Seema: The day you rejected Vikram i was quite mad at you, probably because that day I didnt know that you could change so much in Kunal bhaiya's life.

They both hug each other and leave silently..

Kunal - meets Sonia

Kunal(pauses to understand why she claims so): No, i was just asking.

Sonia(laughs): You werent surprised on the first day when I said i wanted divorce, you were cool. And today you blew up.

Kunal(takes a deep breath): Nothing , im sorry.

Sonia: Happens! even i used to get upset whenever shourya is mad at me.

Kunal: No im not mad at my wife

Sonia(laughs): No, i was talking about me. Once when he was mad, I really wanted to pacify him. His birthday was falling within two days , so i went through his Sydney contact book to call his old friends. I found Vineet's contact and one more letter that dropped. It wasnt just a letter that dropped rather a bomb on my life

Kunal: What was that, if you think that is sharable

Sonia: A unposted letter for his girlfriend in Sydney.

Kunal: So you think he cheated you?

Sonia: No, he is a man of word and loyality. Its rather the content in the letter that drove me here. He had imagined a life with her Kunal (tears drop as she continues). He loved her Kunal, and he has planned his entire life with her. A destination wedding, no of children, a vacation home, a world tour and even where to be burried as a couple. You tell me, what should I do? He is here only because of me and I dont want to be the rope tying his neck, I want him to be free, free from this marriage.

Kunal: Maybe that is his past, and people do move on.

Sonia: For some people past is the present.

Kunal: Wont dont you tell him about your love one last time, its a win-win either way for you. If he loves you then you guys can get back togather or if he doesnt then atleast you have an answer.

Sonia: Things are not as easy as said. Kunal, if you are not offended, can i ask something?

Kunal nods yes,

Sonia: Can you imagine your wife loving someone not you, and that person is still out there probably waiting for her? And you are the only one holding her to this unhappy marriage?

Kunal is unpleased to hear it, it reminds him of the horror past of his own life. Siddhi, Anand and his marriage, for a moment things were grey until he was remainded of Anand's death.

Kunal: Its getting late, isnt it ?

Sonia: If you say so.

Kunal: I'll catch up with you next week.

Sonia: Kunal!! im sorry, Did I say something wrong?

Kunal: No, i remebered something. (tries to put on a smile)

They leave apart for work

Evening at chopra house, Siddhi enters

The chopras leave out,

Seema: Siddhi! thank god you came little soon today.

Siddhi: Haan bhabi , what should I do?

Seema: We are leaving to the nearby temple as it is Shiv Rathiri today, we thought you would arrive late. Go take rest we will come around 11 Pm, and lock the door from inside.

Siddhi: Haan bhabi

Raj: Siddhi beta! Kapil came home to invite us to the ring cermony tomorrow. And he has given the ring to us, he wants Kunal to present it during the ceremony.

Siddhi: teek hai papa , i will talk to bhaiya.

The chopra's leave for temple.

At 8 30 someone rings the door bell,

Siddhi opens the dooor

Siddhi: You? At this time?

Shilpa: Yes, Cant I come here?

Siddhi: Come inside, (takes Shilpa to her room, but she forgets to lock the door)

Siddhi: Shilpa! its your engagement tomorrow and why are you out today? Didnt i tell you to be home?

Shilpa: See i came to see Jiju not you

Siddhi(worried): So what cant you call? Why are you alone? Its not good to roam out before wedding or such cermonies, how many times should I tell you Shilpa?

Shilpa: Arey! our granny is better than you, you are being so old fashioned siddhi

Siddhi: After what happened with Anan...(stops, since her marriage to Kunal that is one name that she has refrained from calling. A name that she loved in the past and a name that holds her from the present) No problem, Kunal should be home in sometime.

Shilpa: Siddhi Can I Ask you something?

Siddhi: yes

By this time Kunal enters the house and looks at the abandoned hall and dining area and before he opens into his room he hears two people conversing

Shilpa: You used to hate Kunal Jiju before marriage and how ...

Siddhi: How..? (smiles) One day before my marriage Kapil bhaiya came and asked me to reconsider my decison to marry Kunal

Shilpa: And you said yes, because of bhaiya?

Siddhi: No, i told him that i would dress as a bride my whole life but i cant be Kunal's wife even a second.

Shilpa: But..

Siddhi: After some time Kunal came and spoke

Shilpa: and you said haan?

Siddhi(giigles) : Phir Kya, since then im saying haan to his every word. ( both giggles) Jokes apart , he is not how he potrays himself. There is a honesty and care behind his rudeness, he doesnt tell others when he helps them. He gets angry but more than that is his love for this family.

Shilpa: Arey itna pyaar

Siddhi: Chalo, getting late.

Shilpa: But i want to meet Kunal Jiju... ( Kunal leaves the house , just to enter again)

Siddhi quickly runs to open the door before Kunal decides otherwise. But when siddhi opens the door she is rather shocked.
