Chapter 12: THE PAST, THE PRESENT AND ??????

A car stops in front of the house and GG comes out of the car and sees the surrounding, the same air, the same rush, and the same faces and some new that she had seen many ages ago. She walks towards the house, and she is about to step in but stops midway and steps back again, she is nervous-checked. She is in a dilemma- checked, she just stands at the door and observe the house, it’s still the same with some minor changes, fresh paints, new floors, and new furniture, but the exterior remains. She looks that the living room is empty but clattering noises are coming from the kitchen, the spices smell trickling her noise, the aroma which can clearly remembers when she came here, she would smell them.

She rings the doorbell, even thou the door is open, but she doesn’t want to overstep her boundaries. We were eating our breakfast. Neeti Bhabhi walks over to see how is there but stand still maybe in shock or just plain, but she doesn’t respond. GG sees Neeti Bhabhi but doesn’t say or do anything. All the others come and joins her to see who is there, and Anu is descending from the steps and stands at his favorite place where he usually stands and others are shocked to see Gungun in changed avatar her new wardrobe, her hair straighten and cut till her neck and the glasses which suits her personality. Anubhav observes everyone faces; they are shocked to see her but shocked to see her changed personality while GG is not displaying any. No one moves from their place when GC says

GC: Arey gungun tum waha kaha khadi ho, andar aao.

GG looks at BP and she remembers his words and everything which she had gone thru and speaks

GG: I am okay here, I am here to pick up Ridz, if you can call her.

Yug: woh toh theek hai par andar toh aao, woh log abhi ankit ke saath bahar gaye hai, bas thode der mein aa jaayege, tum kab tak bahar khadi rahoji.

GG: I am fine, yug bhaiya.

BM: arey gungun, hamare ghar pe mehmaan ko hum aise bahar khade nahi rehne de sakti ander nahi toh kam se kam darwaze ke ander aake yaha pointing near the stairs ruk jaago.

GG Smiles a bit and comes in, she folds her hand and say namaste to everyone. However angry can be with them, they are her elders.

Chavi comes forward and hugs her, she is initially shocked by her gestures but hugs her back. She knows that Chaavi didn’t get any say

GG smiles at her: How are you?

Chaavi: I am good, how are you?

GG: I am good, everything is good.

GC: arey uski shaadi tay ho gayi hai.

GG smiles and hugs her back: congrats, hope you have a wonderful Married life. Sorry pata nahi tha warna tumhare liye kuch leke aati.

Chavi: Thank you so much, but aise nahi I will come to your house to invite you personally.

BM: Ghar pe sab theek hai na?

Gungun has an idea why BM asked this question; GG had observed how much she misses Rasika Di.

GG: Ji, Bua uske friend ke ghar pe gayi hai, aur aap sab jante hoge abhi tak ki Rasika Di mere saath rehti hai, who aaj subah hi Banglore gayi hai, kal unki wedding anniversary hai aur Yash jeeju waha hai, aur waha se woh holiday pe jaa rahe hai.

GG looks at BP but doesn’t say anything. She looks at chandru and he smiles back, and he ask how she

GG: Mein theek hu, aap abhi bhi gaana jaate hai?

Hearing this he gets too excited and say: Ha, ab toh mein classes bhi leta hu.

GG looks surprised and whispers slowly: kaun pagal hai joh apke class mein aate hoge, and give a sarcastic smile but Anubhav hears it and looks at her.

Chandru: Tumne kuch kaha mein suna nahi.

GG: Nahi, mein toh yeh keh rahi thi ki good, very good excellent.

Anubhav: Tumne yeh nahi kaha tha.

GG stares at her angrily and says in a sarcastic tone: tumhe kaise pata maine kya kaha aur kya nahi.

Just as she going to say something Goli bua comes in and is shocked to see changed Gungun. She then looks at everyone faces

Goli Bua: Arey Gungun, kaise ho tum, and I must say you look fabulous in this.

GG: Thank you, and congrats on your wedding I hope your husband is treating you well. She then looks at Anubhav

Goli bua: Pratyush is good, and I am very happy.

GG: Glad to hear that.

GG phones ring and she excuses herself and goes out to take the call. When she is out Sargam looks at her and speak

Sargam: kitni badal gayi hai yeh, Na Mazak, na kuch aur sirf joh pucha hai uska jawab aur kuch nahi.

BM: Aur hasna bhi bhul gayi hai, ek dum dusri Anu ban gayi hai yeh and she looks at Anu.

BP all these while still stays Quiet and sit at her fav place, he doesn’t know what to say, everyone else also goes and sit in the living room, GC and yug stands near Anu.

GC: Kya hua?

Anu: BP aaj silent mode mein kaise, pehli baar kitna acha lag raha hai na?

Yug: Anu, zyada ho raha hai, aur yeh soch ki acha hai nahi bol raha hai warna GG bhi shaant nahi rehti, yeh tumhe bhi pata hai.

Anu: Ek baat thi, joh apko pata honi chahiye. Kal jab mein Ridz se lene gaya tha, tab Gungun ne mere samne ek deal ki thi.

GC: Deal? Kaise deal.

Anu: Yahi ki, agar Ridz ko koi chot lage ya koi kuch bhi kahe use specially apne ghar wale toh mein kabhie bhi apne beti se nahi mil paayuga aur agar hum custody ke liye apply bhi karne ka soche toh who mujhe Ridz se dur kar degi aur saare rishte tod degi.

Yug: kya???? Aisa kyun kiya usne. Aur tune sign kar diya

Anu: ha, and I know ki BP ke society ke dar se usne yeh kiya, coz Samaj ke liye shaadi toh meri aur Akriti ki thi aur jab samaj ko pata chalega ki beti meri aur GG ki hai, toh who log kya kahege, isliye. Aur woh sahi hai, agar BP abhi kuch bhi bole use, toh woh chup nahi raheji

GG comes in after the call and again stand the place she was at and see that everyone is sitting in the  living room,

GG: aap log please apna breakfast khatam kijiye , I can wait outside and she starts to walk  out to wait near her car, GC and Yug along  Anu all are ready to go, when  BP stops him and all of them stops

BP: Breakfast abhi khatam nahi hua hai, aur ghar ka niyam pata hai ki saath mein baith ke khata hai. Aur yeh baat yaha sabko pata hai indirectly taunting GG

GG looks at BP with such an attitude and anger but doesn’t say anything coz she doesn’t want to create any drama.

BP: Aur tum, looking at GG, kya sanskaar diye hai tumne, tumhare beti Anu ko papa nahi bulati. Aise pala hai tumne.

GG who was controlling her anger till now, says :Sanskaar ki baat aap na kare toh hi aacha hoga, aur

abhi apne kaha na meri beti hai, use joh bhi kehna haiya bulana hai who bula sakti hai. Aur rehi baat

Apke bete ki, toh woh Janta hai ki MERI beti use papakyun nahi bulati, aur Mujhe garv hai mere diye

sanskaar pe, aapko apke sanskaar pe nahi hai toh I amsorry mein uske kuch nahi kar sakti, and be

thankful ki maine apni beti ko aapke ghar aane bhidiya warna kahi aapke kasam ke chakar mein

aapka ladla aapse dur ho jaata. And looks at Anu

Anu was trying to control this what was happening coz he knew if BP says something GG will counterattack him and he will be the middleman to get crushin their fight. She gets out of the trance and looks at everyone, what was that what was she thinkingof doing, she looks at Anu who is as confused and clueless as she is, she excuses herself and not listen to the whole talk what BP was talking and goes to her car and sits inside and drink water. Was she stupid, to say that to an elder, her father’s value she can’t cross that, no matter how much anger you have, not on elders, she had followed this and will do it always, “oh god! What was I thinking” she just closes her eyes when someone knocks on her windows?

she wakes up and sees that its Anubhav standing outside, she unlocks the car, and he comes and sit besides her.

Anu: Kya hua, tum aise achanak waha se kyun aa gayi?

GG: tumse matlab, meri marzi mujhe joh karna hai who karuji.

Anu: who toh mujhe pata hai, ek baat batao BP ne tumhe itna sab kuch sunaya aur tum aadhi baat beech mein choodkar aa gayi, isliye puch raha hu.

GG: Nth, yeh Ankit in dono ko kaha leke gaya hai?

Anu: woh, uske dost ki yaha leke gaya hai, aaj subah sab kids’ ka koi farm ride hai waha isliye. Just for fun and enjoyment.

GG: Okay, ek baat puchu? Anu nods and GG says: Aaj aapke BP ki sanskaari Bahu ke darshan nahi hue.

Anu: Hum saath mein nahi rehte, jis din tum yaha se gayi usi din mein use chod diya tha, after whatever happened, getting Annulment was easy so we annulled the marriage,  usne phone karne ki kohish ki thi, har din mujhe institute mein bhi milne ki koshish karti, par kuch din pehle par pata nahi kya hua, uske papa ka phone bhi aaya tha, to say sorry, it was shocking becasue his father an dher would always taunts whenever they called. she use to come sometimes here to meet us but suddenly she stopped before you arrived to lucknow. 

He pauses and think something and then looks at GG and she has the devlish smile on her face, Anubhav maybe not be able to catch her all the expression but this one he caught it instantly, she smirks looking other side and he understood

Anu: you knew about the divorce, and you also has something to do with her not calling us anymore  and herself not showing up here,and not irritating me in institute anymore dnt you. Please tell me you didn’t kill her?

GG: you think that low of me? cmon yaar itni bhi giri hui nahi hu main.

Anu: tum itni unpredictable ho isliye pucha?

GG: dnt worry mara nahi hai, but kiya toh hai kuch, bahut jald tumhe pata chalega. Final nail is remaining in her coffin, give it few days you will understand everything.

Anu looks at her, and GG is on her phone, “Itna change, itna badalav, kuch toh aisa hua hai, joh mujhe nahi pata aur mein pata karke rahuga, kyunki tum strict hosakti ho, par heartless that too towards your

family, something is definitely up”

 Anu: waise ek baat mujhe bhi kehna hai.

GG: Kaho

Anu: Mere aur Akriti ke beech us raat kuch nahi hua tha jis raat usne tumhe phone kiya tha, mein tumhe dhokha nahi de sakta tha, nahi hi khud ko kisi aur ko siwai tumhe.

GG: Janti hu, itna bharosa tha.

Anu; toh tumne Bua ko kyun bataya.

GG: Coz, she was worried that if you saw me with RV how broken you will be and how will take care of you and when Akriti called, I told her so she can relax a bit.

Anu: Thank you mere pe bharosa karne ke liye.

GG was about to answer something when Ankit knocks on the window and they get out of the car, GG

goes towards Champ and Ridz and starts to talk to them, meanwhile Ankit asks Anu what happened

Ankit: kya hua?

Anu: Baad mein batata hu, pehle andar chal.

They all go inside except GG who stands by the door and ask Ridz to get her bag. She runs up and gets

her bags

GG: Ridz please say bye and thank you for hosting you.

Ridz goes and says Bye to everyone and thank you to everyone and Champ and Ridz have their magical handshake and they say bye and leave from there.

At Bhatnagar Mansion during dinner time Ridz talks about her time at the Kulshreshth house, and here Anubhav is with GC gang in his room.

Ankit: toh kya hua aaj.

Yug: aaj papa ne Gungun ko sunya par gungun all of a sudden gave a stare at Anubhav and let from there without listening to papa’s talk.

GC: Anu, aisa kya hua tha?

Anu: Pata nahi, jab maine knock kiya uske car ki window pe toh she got a bit startled, Ek aur baat, use phele se Akriti aur mere Annulled marriage ki baat pata thi,aur kuch toh karne wali hai, mujhe dar lagraha hai

GC: Matlab?

 Anu: Akriti ka hamare ghar na aana, ya phone na karna, in sab mein Gungun ka haath, she had this look,which, I fear. Ek aur baat us raat jab mein Gungun ke gharse aaya tha, aur aap logo ne mujhe samjaya tha, uske algi wali raat, jab Akriti ne room decorate kiya tha Suhaagraat ke liye, aur maine bahana banake so gaya tha, us raat Akriti ne Gungun ko phone kiya tha aur kaha tha ki, Who aur Mein humhare Rishte ko ek Mauka dena chahte hai, aur uski shuruwat Aaj hamari khaas raat se hui hai.

Ankit: Kya???? Aur Gungun ne maan liya

Anu: Nahi, usne nahi mana, itna bharosa tha use, aur mujhe abhi ek aur guilt mein jeena padeja ki usne bharosa kiya mujh pe aur maine nahi.

Next mrng GG gets a early call from Raashi. She leaves for meeting without any breakfast or anything, she reaches the office and looks at everyone who is presentthere and she is extremely angry.

GG: who approved this tender????

Mr Verma : Mam ,woh Dr Maya ne approve kiya hai, usne kaha ki yeh sahi hai aur isse Doctors ki expertise maan kar approve kiya tha.

GG: Everyone else Get out, Raashi type this person resignation letter.

Mr Verma: but mam, please aisa mat kijiye.

GG: Firstly Did you read the tender?

Second- did you study the various studies?

If you did, how many people did you consult about it? How many recommendation did you take, Seedhe jaake Dr Maya ko de diya, agar yeh medicine is notr approvedby FDA aur agar yeh market mein aati, aur

use hum treatment dete aur log ki jaan jaati kya tum uske zimmedari lete? WILL YOU TAKE THE BLAME OF THE POOR PEOPLES DEATH? OR WILL DR MAYA TAKE THE BLAME?ANSWER ME

We are expanding into treating people who is in needs medical attention and you are standing here and giving me nonsense talks.

Gungun is very angry and calls Dr Maya.

GG: how dare you interfere in my business? Mana kiya tha ki dur rehna phir bhi har cheez mein aap bolti hai.

Dr Maya: yeh meri bhi company hai

GG: Wrong answer Dr Maya, yeh papa ki company thi jiski sole owner mein hu, aap nahi, aur joh abhi aap ghar mein reh rahi hai na who bhi mera hi hai, agar doobara mere kaam mein koi interefence kiya toh ghar se nikal dugi kahi aisa na ho ki aap kahi ki bhi na rahe.

 GG was so angry that she starts punching and breaking everything in her office, to remove her frustration, seeing her this stage Raashi gets so frightenedthat she calls Anubhav

Anu: Hello, ha Raashi bolo, and he hears the sounds of things breakings in the background and before Raashi can say anything, he understands what it is and he gets up from the dining table and says I will be there in 15 minutes and he leaves from there without answering anyone.

He reaches the office and sees Raashi scared outside and Raashi just says Dr Maya and Anubhav understand it, he goes inside and taps on GG shoulders and GG turns and is few inches away from punching Anubhav, Her right hand still stances in a clenching position few inches away from his face and left hand in defensive mode,

Flash back in same pose: After Dr Maya had insulted the Kulshreshth and when her father tells her all

what Dr Maya did and after GG giving the answer to Dr Maya, she goes down to the basement of her

house, her comfort space and start punching the punching bag to remove her anger without gloves,

Akriti hitting her, Dr Maya insults and all that anger she channels into her and start removing her

anger, when Bua sees her, she calls Anubhav and he comes and they are in the same pose as now and

she wants to throw that punch and she punches the wall next to him, he sees her nger nd her hand all

bruised up and make her sit down and apply ice on her hand, and he ask

Anu: Ek baat kaho, jab tumhe gussa aata hai toh tum kya karti ho.

GG: Woh toh Gusse ki category pe depend on karta hai.

Anu: Matlab?

GG: agar gussa zyada na ho, small anger I bake, medium anger I dance and play drums and if zyada gussa I run or box.

Anu: Toh aaj itnaa zyada gussa kis baat hai , Dr Maya ne joh bhi kaha humse kaha na

GG: Yeah, par uska haq nahi banta kisi ka bhi insult karneka, aur phir kal raat joh Akriti ne kiya, uska

bhi gussa tha.

Anu: tum bilkul pagal ho.

Flash back ends

Anu: Maaro, ruk kyun gayi, the anger and redness in your eyes, the strong hold of your punch all suggest that you want to hit hard so hit me, i am standing right here, she punches the mirror behind him, breaking it and still Anubhav still stand still, GG is not even half an inch away from herface and she looks up and sees in his eyes.

They are so close too each other that there is no place for a thin air to pass through. He can hear her heartbeat beating as fast, the moment of stealing glances oh her yes, and her lips, the anticipation, the closeness was creating a turmoil in his head. He cups her face and looks into those eyes, the redness, the gritting of teeth in anger and the closeness. He wanted to take away all the pain, but he keeps his eyes on her.
