At night in the chawl

 

Madhu was remembering whatever Trishna told hertoday: She said to herself, "Didu ne aisa kyon kaha? Main kyon karungi aisa kuch?" She started to cry.

Padmini saw Madhu crying and came to console her.

P – Mat ro beta. Tujhe to pata hai na ki Trishna hai hi itni badtameez. Pata nahi kyon wo hamesha tere sath itni buri tarah pesh aati hai.

M – koi baat nahi maa, main samajh sak….

 

Suddenly a person of the chawl came running and shouting: "Are Madhu, bhabhiji, jaldi aao Malik ka accident ho gaya hai!!!!!!!"

 

Madu and Padmini stood up in shock. Both came running down and asked: "Malik kaha hai?? Aur accident kaise hua?????"

Man: Pata nahi bhabhiji kaise hua par aap log jaldi chalo Malik city hospital mein hai.

M - aapko kaise pata chala Kaka?

K – Madhu beta jisne Malik ko hospital mein admit kiya hai usne abhi phn kiya tha. Mujhe ussi se pata chala.

P – Hey bhagwan , yeh kya ho gaya….

Madhu interrupts – Ma yeh waqt in sab chizo ka nahi ha, jaldi chalo Malik k paas.

The three went to the hospital.

 

In the Hospital

 

Madhu, Kaka and Padmini came running inside and asked the receptionist about Malik. After that they reached ICU and saw a man sitting nearby.

Madhu rushed to the man and asked, " Kya aapne hi Malik ko admit karwaya hai?"

Man, " Ha aap unke gharwale hai?"

M – Ji, Yeh sab kaise hua??

Man – Pata nahi beta, yeh raste se ja rahe the aur ek truck ne aakar achanak dhakka mar diya. Wo kuch pareshani mein the shayad isiliye truck ko nahi dekha. Yeh lo unka saman. Aur ab jab aap log aa hi gaye to main chalta hun.

He gave Madhu Malik's phn, wallet.

M – Thank you very much.

 

After 15 mins, the doctor came out and said, "Shamsher Malik ke ghar se koun aaya hai?"

P – Hum doctor saab, Kya baat hai?? Sab thik to hai na? Malik…Malik thik to hai na?

Doc – Dkhiye main aap logo ke jasbad samajh sakta hun. Humne bohot koshish ki par hum…hum unhe bacha nahi paaaye. I am sorry.

M – Kya???? Yeh aap kya keh rahe hai? Aisa kaise ho sakta hai???

Doc – Dekhiye, unko bohto gehri chot aayi thi. Pura sharir  jakhmi tha. Unko jab yaha laya gaya tha tab hi unke bachne ke chances 1% the. I am sorry. Excuse me.

The doctor left.

 

Padmini fainted after hearing the news. Madhu and Kaka were shocked. They took Padmini back home. The hospital authorities told Madhu to take the dead body next day. Madhu was completely devastated. She went back home.

At home Trishna was waiting for them. When they arrived Trishna asked Madhu, "Kaha the tum log? Tumhe pata hai main kab se intejaar kar rahi hun tum logo ka? Aur ma ko…ma ko kya hua? Madhu tu chup kyun hai? Baata na, Kya hua?? Aree koi mujhe baatayega ki kya hua??"

K – Trishna beta, tumhare Malik…tumhar malik…

T – Malik?? Kya hua Malik ko?? Batao kaka??

Then Madhu spoke in a heavy cold voice, "Didu, Malik ab iss duniya mein nahi rahe.

T – Kya????? Yeh tu kya keh rahi hai? Pagal ho gayi hai kya?

M – Main sahi keh rahi hun didu. Yehi sach hai aur issko tu maan le.

 

The whole night both the sisters comforted each other and their mother. The next day the hospital authorities sent the body of Malik. PAdmini and Trishna cried a lot but Madhu, she was as still and hard as a stone statue.
