"It's 7 already?"

Anu sprang up from the bed and tied her hair. Today was her first morning at Anuj's and she was late. Her mind took her back to the first morning at the Shah's. She had got up at 4.30 and had run into the kitchen. Being new she had failed to complete cooking by 7 and Baa had punished her for not giving her tea on time. The punishment was so bitter that even without an alarm she woke up at 4 everyday from then. Somehow she had been very tired yesterday and had overslept. She looked around for Anuj and he was nowhere to be found. He might have gone for a jog she thought. She got down from the bed and rushed to the washroom to freshen up. As she came out from the bathroom, she saw him entering the room with two cups in his hand. He looked at her and smiled.

"Hey baby... good morning... I made your favorite tea today"

Anu looked at him shocked as he handed her her cup.

"You made tea? I thought you were off for a jog... sorry I overslept... I didn't hear the alarm today..."

"I switched it off..."

"Anuj... but why...."

"Well you were sleeping like a baby and looking absolutely beautiful. I couldn't disturb you and lose feasting my eyes on such a lovely sight."

She chuckled at his antics and proceeded to sip the cup of tea he had lovingly made for her.

"How is it?"

"Lovely... just like the person who made it"

"Good... by the way Anu have you forgotten your duty to your husband?"

Bitter memories of Baa and Mr. Shah shouting at her for every little thing and blaming her forgetting her duties flashed before her eyes. Taking a deep breath she mustered courage to look at him.

"I am sorry I guess I was too tired. I won't oversleep again."

He looked confused.

"Okay... but... what does that have to do with my question?"

"Anuj... I know it's my duty as a wife to get up early and..."

"Huh?"

He gently took her tea cup and placed it along with his on the dressing table. He pulled her towards him. 

"Anuj... what?"

He tipped up her face and placed his lips on her chin making her gasp at the contact. Slowly he made his way to her ear trailing her face with soft kisses. Gently he bit her earlobe and whispered

"My dearest Darling Anu... this was the duty I was talking about... I was asking for my morning kiss."

Her heart raced at his words. Oh how she had misjudged him. He pulled back to see her eyes dazed and pupils dilated with desire. His heart leapt seeing the effect he had on her.

"I don't have to remind you again... Do I?"

"Never... I promise I will never forget... My duty... To my husband."

And she never did.
