Devakshi FF: Reaching Out

Epilogue

"Dev, Suhana ko khana khila diya na apney?" Sonakshi yelled into the phone.

She had left baby Suhana under Dev's care for the first time today. She had neglected her sessions with her patients for long enough. She was worried about all of them. Also, she had a meeting with some other doctors today.

But now she was panicking about leaving Suhana with her father. Dev had a habit of forgetting things. She just hoped he wouldn't forget to feed Suhana.

She heard Dev sigh, "Haan Sonakshi. Khila diya maine Suhana ko. Main baad me baat karta hoon, tumhari pyaari beti ne potty kar di hai."

Sonakshi giggled when she heard Dev hang up with a groan.

She imagined the scene in her head and giggled some more. Dev was definitely having the time of his life.

But then she heard someone call out to her. She quickly turned around to find Dr. Sinha beckoning her. It was time for her meeting then. She would have to concentrate on that for now.

It was six in the evening when Sonakshi finally returned to her cabin. She plopped down on the chair and sighed. The day had been pretty exhausting for her. She put her hand on her forehead and massaged her temples.

Her eyes landed on the clock. It was six thirty. She snapped to attention. Had Suhana been fed? She fished out her phone. There no calls from Dev. She panicked.

"Dev tired hoke so toh nahin gaye?"

She called him. But no one picked it up. She grew frantic, calling again and again.

She was going to lose all sanity if Dev didn't pick up soon. Then she heard his voice.

"Itna miss kar rahi ho mujhey?"

Sonakshi whirled around to find Dev leaning against her cabin door, with Suhana strapped to him. Sonakshi sighed in relief. Then she smiled.

"Main toh apni beti ko miss kar rahi thi."

She pulled Suhana's cheeks.

Suhana poked her tongue out, making her parents laugh.

"Dekho, papa ne kitna achha khayal rakha Suhana ka" Dev said proudly to his wife.

Sonakshi threw her arms around Dev and hugged him from the side, so as to not disturb Suhana, who was busy blowing bubbles.

"Haan. 100/100 milta hai aapko, Suhana ke papa."

Dev kissed his wife on the lips.

"All thanks to Suhana ki mumma!"

Their life together was turning out to be nothing short of a dream. 

They were glad that they had been able to Reach Out to each other.
