Chapter 17

 

CHAPTER 16:

Ridhi's home:

"ye kya ho rahe hai mujhe? Why I am so disturbed?"  she couldn't concentrate. She was lost at times. She had a hard time to keep a normal face in front of Raj. He looked at her enquiringly. "kya hua? Ithna miss kar rahe ho sabko?" she smiled and went by.

Shree's home:

"should I call her? What should I say? Sorry kahthe hai.. nahi.. usse kuch aur hi lagega.. tho kya karu? Kal milthe ahi.. oh no.. kal se wo nahi ayegi' what should I do?"

"shayad wo Riya se kuch kaha hoga.. puuchthe hai'" he called Riya.

"hello Shree kya hua? Is waqt?"

"kuch nahi Ri.. I need to ask something.."

"ha puucho.." she knew his questions already.

"wo.. Ridhi ' kaafi upset the.. kuch kaha usne..?" Riya smiled. "ha.. kuch kuch kaha'"

"what?? Usne sab kuch kaha??" Riya was surprised.

"tum ithne tensed kyu ho? Kahi tum usse kiss tho nahi kiya na?" Shree gulped.. "maybe she didn't say anything'"

"kya kaha usne? Please tell me.."

"well.. she told me.. that you 'almost' told her 'I love you' " Shree was relieved.

"tell me Shree.. are you serious? Kahi majaak tho nahi hai? Hai tho chod de.. she is a good girl.. please don't hurt her.."

"nahi Ri.. I love her..  shayad mein kuch jald hi kehdiya.." he was thinking about the kiss. "ok bye.."

"hey.. wait.. life insurance hai tumhare pass..?" she was not ready to leave him.

"hey.. theen theen ETF officers ke behen hai wo.. sochle.."

"hm.. waise agar ek ETF wali bhabhi saath hai tho problem kya hai'?"  he cut the call immedietly.

"Riya.. jaldi aao.." Arjun screamed in his full voice.. she ran from kitchen to the room.. he was not there and she was worried.. someone grabbed her by the waist.. "Arjun kya kar rahi ho?? Chodo.. ye kya mazaak hai.."

"acha tho tumhe ye mazaak lag rahi hai.. mein yaha akele.. tumhe mere koi parwah hi nahi hai biwi.." she could feel his breath on her cheeks.. she blushed and closed her eyes.. phone rang in a loud voice.. "Arjun.. phone baj rahe hai.." she said. Still the phone kept on ringing.. she opened her eyes..

"paagal. Ye kya soch raha tha mein'" she hit herown head.. "oh no.. mummy ka call.." she took the phone.. "hai.. mom'" she was still not of that dream..

Next morning:

Shree came to Raj's home to pick him up. He rang the doorbell. Ridhi opened the door. both felt awkward. "hai'" he said. "hai.." she said back. She let him come in and took him to Raj. He wanted to speak and she went to kitchen. Raj was there so they started speaking. She brought tea for them and before he could say something she went again. He was a bit annoyed. But all these were noticed by Raj. He didn't ask anything.

 2 days later:

 Shree was really annoyed. She was not talking to him. Never took his call. If  by any chance they met, she would vanish. Shree was not concentrating on his work which annoyed Arjun and Rathod. They fired him at times. Still Raj was silent.

One evening, Raj and Shree were returning from work place. Shree was unusually silent. Raj thought that it was time. "kya hua Shree..? whats your problem? Agar mein kuch kar sakthe ho tho bolo, I will defenitly do it for you." Shree was feeling relieved by his tone. "no sir.. nothing.. but thanks.."

"thanks.. kis liye? Ab jo bola ya kuch aur reason keliye?" Shree was confused. "sorry sir I didn't get you."

"bas Shree.. thu gadgets mein maaahir hogi.. par lagtha hai ki dil ke mamle mein thode weak hai.." Shree was shocked.

"ok.. let me get it straight .. do you like my sister?" Shree had his wind out of his body. "sir.. wo'" Raj was in no mood of fun.

Shree was not used to this face of Raj. He didn't want to hurt his feelings or create confusion among brother and sister. Still he wanted to be honest.

"yes'sir.. I love her.." Raj was happy and a bit shocked at his honesty. But he kept his big brother face on.

"aur Ridhi? What about her?"

"patha nahi sir' I never asked her.. infact I never got a chance to ask her."

"kyu?? tum usse dara diya tha kya?"

"almost.. one day I lost control.." he stopped when Raj suddenly braked the car.

"what do you mean?" 

"no.. sir.. I didn't mean any thing.. just when I told.. she was so frightened.. nothing much.."

Raj let out a gasp.. he started the car again. He was silent. They reached Shree's home. He was about to get down when Raj stopped him. "Shree I like your honesty. But I am not ready to accept it soon. You know she is my sister. More than that she is my baby. So I'll not allow anything bad to happen to her. So don't take my silence as acceptance. But I'll still think about it."

"thanks sir.. but please aap Ridzi se naaraz math hona.."

"RIDZI?"

"no I mean.. Ridhi.. please don't be angry with her.. she didn't know anything about it before.."

"k.. I'll be talking to her.. but no.. I wont be angry.. infact I cant be.. bas ek advice hai.. don't open your mouth infront of Arjun or Sam.. you know what will happen right? And do concentrate on your work.. your personal life should never effect your professional life.." he said calmly.

"k'sir.. thanks again.. ya I'll concentrate on my work. Good night sir."

"good night Shree.." he went back.

"its time to talk Ridzi.. I mean Ridhi.." he drove home.
