Chapter 9
Firstly Congratulations all of you for the 50th episode of a great and our favourite show!!!
And what an episode it was!!
Gorky sir gave us the Sweetest surprise as promised by him. 
I was really ecstatic hearing 'SAM' from Arjun's mouth...
I literally shouted in happiness and my mom must have thought that I have gone completely crazy...
Okay... I am sorry for my bak bak, but I am feeling really happy!
So, here is the next and LAST chapter of this SS...ENJOY!
Chapter 8
It was Aaliya's Birthday, today 2nd February. She was turning 6. Riya had supervised every arrangement perfectly for her angel daughter's birthday. Shree and Chotu were there in the house for the whole day, to help in the preparations and left just a few hours before to get ready for the party. Riya made Aaliya ready for the party. She really looked like an angel in her white Princess frock. Riya also got ready in a simple blue anarkali suit and was ready to attend the guests.
It was time for the party now and guests started coming. Aaliya's classmates and friends from the neighborhood came to enjoy the party. Then entered Shree with his girlfriend Suhana and Chotu with his 11.30 baje wali Ridhi. Riya was shocked to know that both her best friends were committed now. Shree and Suhana (SuSh or whatever you guys would like to call them) were in a relationship for almost one and a half year now. And Chotu proposed Ridhi (RiTu or ChoRi, whatever you prefer) two months back, after slowly knowing her and gradually becoming her friend. Riya literally gave them a lecture for hiding such an important thing from her, but she was really happy for both her best friends. She gave the four of them a warm group hug and felt really happy.
After few minutes Rathore came with Naina and Samiya. Riya welcomed them and Aaliya ran to welcome her new best friend Samiya. Aaliya searched for someone near the door.
'Arjun uncle nahi aaye??' she asked Sameer. Riya was also waiting for Arjun, but didn't ask anyone. Sameer noticed Riya's eyes waiting for Arjun and chuckled to himself.
'Aate hi honge aapke Arjun uncle', Sameer replied to Aaliya smiling.
Just then there was a knock at the already opened door of the house. Everyone turned to look in that direction. There stood a big pink teddy bear about the height of a man. Aaliya and Samiya ran towards it.
'Happy Birthday Aaliya!', A voice wished her from behind the teddy.
'Arjun uncle', Aaliya shouted in excitement. Arjun came out smiling from behind the teddy. Aaliya ran into his arms and he picked her up.
'Happy Birthday Princess!!', he wished her and put her down kneeling in front of her and Samiya.
'Thank you', she answered smiling, but pouted and continued, 'Par aap late kyun aaye? Mujhe laga ki aap sabse pehle aaoge.'
'I am sorry', he said holding his ears. 'Woh kya hai na aapke liye gift dhundte dhundte late ho gaya', he replied.
'Its okay', She replied smiling at the teddy.
'Arjun chachu?', Samiya asked raising an eyebrow at him.
'Ha baba, main aapko kaise bhul sakta hu?', he said smiling to Samiya. He went behind the teddy bear and came back with a big box of chocolates. He handed it to Samiya and her eyes lit up. She hugged him and he hugged her back.
Aaliya and Samiya then pecked both his cheeks and ran to play with the other kids. Everyone looked at the cute scene with smiles on their faces.
'Arjun, fir se itne saare chocolates! Aap hi ke lad pyaar ne bigaad ke rakha hai usse', Naina said complaining.
'Bhabhi, bacchi hai. Yahi toh umar hai na bigadne ki!', Arjun said standing up. 'Uske baad toh ACP Sameer sudhaarte hi rahenge, kyun?', he said looking at Sameer who hit him on the arm and they all laughed.
Arjun then looked at Riya and was awestruck by her. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her blue and white anarkali suit. He just kept looking at her.

Riya noticed his gaze on her and looked at him.
'Thanks for coming Sir', She said and he just gave a single nod. 'Aaiye cake kat lete hai', she said to all of them and started to walk in the kitchen to get the cake.
'Riya', Arjun called her and she stopped in her tracks.
'Yes sir?', she asked turning around.
Arjun walked upto her and stood in front of her with a stern expression. She was confused as he looked into her with the attitude of her boss. Arjun took out a white envelope from his coat pocket and handed it to her.
'Yeh kya hai sir?', she asked looking at it enquiringly.
'Tum khud hi khol kar dekh lo', Arjun said.
She opened the envelope and read the letter inside. Her eyes got wide in shock. It was her permanent appointment letter in the ETF. She looked at Arjun, but his face was stern, devoid of any expression.
'Sir main ye accept nahi kar sakti', Riya said looking at Arjun.
'Yeh koi gift nahi hai Riya. Its an order from your senior officers', Arjun replied with a smirk indicating towards Rathore. She looked at Rathore.
'Yes Riya, we want our Research Specialist back', Rathore said with a smile.
'Par sir...', Riya tried to object but Arjun cut her off.
'Koi par nahi Riya, you're joining the office tomorrow', he said with a slight smile. She couldn't believe her eyes seeing that smile on her Arjun sir's face. She felt really happy that Arjun was asking correction ordering her to join ETF back.
'Yes Sir', she replied smiling lightly.
'Fir toh double celebration banta hai, right Sir?', Shree asked.
'Right Shree', Rathore said. Riya just smiled her dimpled smile and went to get the cake.
Making a wish Aaliya blew up the candles on the cake and everybody clapped wishing her happy birthday! She then cut the cake and there was a shower of flower petals on her. Planned by Shree and Chotu.
All the kids then started to play the games and enjoy dinner in the house, while all the elders moved out in the lawn. The lawn was also decorated beautifully with lights and balloons. The music played and Riya asked the guests to hit the dance floor. The couples started to dance on the music. Sameer asked Naina for a dance and she obliged happily. They started to sway in each other's arms. Shree-Suhana and Chotu-Ridhi also joined them.
Riya stood there smiling, watching all the happy faces and her friends and colleagues dancing merrily on the floor. She stole a glance at Arjun who stood across the floor, but looked away immediately as his eyes caught hers. She blushed at being caught and thanked god silently for Arjun not being able to see her blush from the distance.
Arjun smirked as he caught her stealing glance at him. He was looking at her for quite a while now, since everybody joined the dance floor.
Riya felt Arjun's gaze on her and lifted her head up slowly to look at him. Arjun started to walk towards her with a smirk on his lips. Riya was confused. There was something in his eyes that made her a little nervous. As he came closer her heart started to race.
Arjun came and stood in front of her. Her heart was already beating overtime and she was stunned when he forwarded his hand, asking her for a dance. Her head snapped up to meet his eyes. There was a glint in his eyes and a small smile graced his lips. She was too stunned to respond. Was this really happening!? Arjun sir asked her for a dance!! Her thought process was broken by his voice.
'May I get the pleasure to dance with you?', Arjun asked raising an eyebrow and she snapped back to reality. She felt so elated that he was actually in front of her, asking her for a dance.
Her hand mechanically moved towards his, while he still held her gaze. Riya placed her palm in his and Arjun led her to the dance floor. He placed her hand on his shoulder and held her waist lightly. She shivered at his touch and he grinned inwardly. He pulled her closer and she gasped inaudibly at the closeness. He led the dance and she followed his lead as the beautiful song played in the background.

He smiled at her as the lyrics conveyed his feelings. Riya blushed and lowered her eyes.

He twirled her and pulled her close. She landed in his arms hitting his chest as he steadied her.

He just kept looking at her innocent blushing face. He felt so happy to hold her in his arms. He moved the strand of hairs behind her ears. She again shivered blushing even more. She felt safe and protected in his mere presence and now she was in his arms! She was not in her senses at all. She was in a trance, a beautiful dream which she never wished to break. She wasn't aware that she was dancing. She was just a puppet in his arms as he swayed her along.

All the last five years flashed in their memories again. They were away from each other, but never separate. He was always on her mind, and she was in his. She was in his every moment and he was in her. He was always in her heart and she was in his. They were away from each other but never complete. And now they were so close, but still there was a distance, which Arjun had promised himself to bridge today.

'Riya', Arjun whispered huskily, but she didn't look up. 'Riya meri taraf dekho.', he said still she didn't look up.
'Main tumse kuch puchna chahta hu', Arjun whispered and she lifted her head slowly.
'Kya?', she asked, her voice barely audible.
'I know ki main thoda late ho gaya hu. Shayad ye bohot pehle puch lena chahiye tha', he said. She looked at him enquiringly.
'Sir aap..'
'Miss. Riya Mukherjee urf Miss. Statistics, agar aapki marzi ho...toh..., kya main itna khushnaseeb ho sakta hu, ki Aaliya mujhe dad bulaye?', Arjun asked with a bright smile. She looked at him confused for a moment. Her eyes widened in surprise as his words sank in. She looked into his eyes. They were intense with love and passion. Her eyes welled up.

'Aap?', she asked looking into his eyes, still unable to believe her ears. Did she really hear what he said?
'I Love You Riya', Arjun said. She closed her eyes and a lone tear escaped her eye.

Arjun wiped the tear and she opened her eyes to look into his. They were standing still on a place now, just looking into each other's eyes.
'Riya, mujhse shaadi karogi?', he asked. She felt ecstatic hearing those words from him. She grinned with her dimples and nodded her head vigorously.
Dil yeh mera tumse kuch keh raha hai, suno na
'Riya', Arjun whispered in her ears.
'Hmm?', Riya asked.
'Ab toh Arjun bolo na!', Arjun said.

'Tumhara Arjun', Arjun asked. She smiled.
'I Love You.. Arjun', she said blushing.
Arjun just pulled her into a tight hug holding her close. He felt complete with her. He was at peace as finally he got his life. And he promised to cherish her throughout their life.
They broke away with a loud applause. They didn't realize that the music was stopped and everybody witnessed their sweet union. Both of them were in their own world and were snapped back with the loud sound of claps. The whole ETF team was beaming at them proudly. They congratulated them. Sameer was the first one to come and hug the couple. He was so happy for his best friend and his sister.
Aaliya
came out running and hugged Arjun. Arjun pulled her up in his arms
and kissed her cheeks. He held her in one arm and pulled Riya closer
with the other. Now their family was complete. And the celebration
gave rise another celebration...!!
