Ffinally I am here with an update
I really enjoyed writing it, hope you will enjoy it too...

Chapter 1

'Ha Rathore', Arjun answered the call entering the super market. He took a trolley and started to roam through the many rows of the market.

'Rawate, tumhari last case ki report ab tak mili nahi mujhe', Rathore roared at the other end. Arjun smirked.

'Sameer! Report hi hai na, kal submit kar dunga', Arjun replied calmly. 'And aaj Sunday hai, relax Rathore', he said smiling to himself and put the groceries in the trolley . Rathore smiled at the other end as well.

'Fine, but make sure the reports reach my table tomorrow', Rathore said faking attitude.

'Yes SIR', Arjun replied sarcastically.

'Okay okay, ab itna sarcastic hone ki koi jarurat nahi hai.', Rathore said chuckling. 'Lunch ke liye time pe aa jana, Naina and I will be waiting'.

Arjun smiled. Trust his friend and bhabhi to relieve him from the task of cooking at the right time.

'Yeah I will be there', Arjun said and cut the call.

He walked ahead and picked up a packet of Maggie from the shelf. He started to walk ahead when he saw a small girl standing on her toes, struggling to reach for a box of chocolates on the shelf above her. She was the same girl whose frock he had ruined that morning. He smiled automatically, he felt actually glad to see her again. He walked up to her and gave the chocolate box to her.

'Thanks', she said beaming at the box in her hands.

'You're welcome', Arjun replied sweetly. She looked up to see who helped her, and was surprised seeing Arjun there.

'Arre uncle aap! Aap mera picha kar rahe hain kya?', she asked smiling innocently. She looked so cute with that little pout and her dimpled smile. Arjun chuckled at her question and leaned down to her height.

'Umm... vaise to mera kam picha karna hi hai, Par don't worry main aapka picha nahi kar raha', he replied smiling.

'Accha! Aap police officer ho?', she asked surprising Arjun.

'Haan, par aapko kaise pata?', Arjun asked her.

'Picha to police officers hi karte hai na', she replied in her sweet voice. Arjun couldn't help but admire her smartness at this age.

'Hmm... Aapka naam kya hai?', Arjun asked her. She was about to answer when they heard someone call 'Aaliya...'.

She gasped at that.

'Oh mom mujhe dhoond rahi hogi, main chalti hu. Bye', she said and hurried down the row waving back at him.

Aaliya. Nice name. He thought as he looked at her disappearing into the next row.

He was about to walk ahead when he heard the call of 'Aaliya...' again and this time a little louder. It was a girl's voice that sounded familiar and he felt a certain pull towards the voice. He stood there trying to hear the voice again.

'Aaliya...', he heard the girl call out again, this time behind him. He was about to turn around when someone bumped into his back.

He turned around abruptly and was shocked to see the person in front of him.

Riya had been calling out to Aaliya as she was roaming in the market by herself. She was searching for her calling her name and entered the next row. She looked around stepping backwards when she bumped into someone. She turned and her heart skipped a beat watching the very person, to whom the heart belonged.

Arjun and Riya stood there for what felt like hours. They were frozen in the moment, watching each other after five long years both refusing to avert their gaze from the other's face. The moment seemed to be stopped for both of them as they tried to absorb the reality.

Arjun couldn't believe his eyes! The girl he had been waiting for since five years was standing in front of him. He looked at her carefully. She looked just the same as she was before, nothing seemed to have changed in her. She was wearing a white salwar suit with her silky hairs flowing down her shoulders and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Slowly a small smile crept up on his lips, a true smile. A smile that reached his eyes.

Riya was a bit shocked after watching Arjun smile genuinely. The Arjun she knew never smiled. He always remained constricted within himself because he had lost the love of his life. He really loved his wife and after her death he had locked himself behind a wall of harshness and indifference. But Riya after knowing him, after seeing the caring and soft person within him, had fallen unconditionally in love with him. But she knew that she couldn't get his love. Though he had started to open up , she noticed that her presence around him bothered him. She noticed that her company was somehow disturbing him. And she didn't want to be the reason for his pain. She knew if she remained in ETF, she wouldn't be able to be away from him, and her presence would disturb him. So she left the ETF. But today watching him after five years, she was surprised. She was happy because she had always wanted to see him like this, smiling.

'Riya', he whispered loud enough to be heard by her.

'A..Arjun sir', she responded back still looking at him.

'Mumma...', they heard a sweet voice which brought them back to earth. Riya looked ahead and saw Aaliya running towards her. 'Mumma', Aaliya said hugging Riya. Arjun was shocked.

'Aaliya, kaha chali gayi thi tum?', Riya asked picking her up in her arms.

'Chocolates lene mom', she said sweetly showing her the box of chocolates. Riya smiled lovingly at her. Arjun couldn't believe this. Riya has a daughter? Aaliya is Riya's daughter?? He felt as if his world of happiness collapsed in a fraction of second. Riya put Aaliya down and started to leave with her. She turned to look at Arjun once and left from there leaving a confused and shocked Arjun there.

Phew...
So... how was it? Good ? Bad? Pathetic?
