Chapter 2

Though the night was loud, the silence in the old, shabby warehouse was deafening. A man stood in front of a hooded figure on the chair, his hands raised up in surrender, one empty while other held a pistol, as tens of guns were pointed at him. Arjun stepped forward from the crowd, anger melting into disbelief as the face of the man lightened up by the single bulb in the room.
Finally, he stood in front of the man he had been madly searching for. His fingers clutched the gun as it pointed in the direction of Sikander. But his hands were shaking, his index finger refusing to press the trigger it was resting on. The lifeless body of his wife flashed in front of his eyes and his heart pounded against his chest. However, one look at Sikander and his determination was swept away.
He wanted to shoot the man responsible for his misery, wanted to end this chapter of his life. But he couldn't. He just simply couldn't. And that was when Arjun realized that maybe he wasn't as cold-hearted as he thought he was.
His arm fell to his side, his grip on the gun loosening when he realized that Sikander won yet again. And this time it was he who was willingly accepting defeat. There really was nothing he could do about it. He lost!
Suddenly, a gunshot rung out shaking the entire place followed by Arjun's scream, "Riya!"
