Chapter-4

He stirred in his sleep as the sun rays fell on his face. Eventually a groan escaped his mouth before he finally woke up and the first thing he noticed was that his phone was on his side of the bed and the call was still on.

A boisterous grin spread across his face almost instantly at the fact that his wife cared for him so much to not end the call even when he had slept.

He put the phone near his ears and he could hear her faint snores indicating that she was still asleep.

"Kumbhkaran ka behen i hope you are having my dreams! " He whispered and unknown to him, a small smile made its way on her face as if she had heard his words.

He then ended the call and quickly got up to get ready before glancing at the wall clock to know the time. As it striked 7, he knew he had to get down the bed as he had a few important meetings today.

He was sitting on the dining area, dressed in his formal suit, waiting for his breakfast when his phone bozzed and one look at the caller ID, he smiled.

"Good morning biwi! " He said picking up the phone.

"Tum kab uthe? " She asked groggily not caring one bit about his good morning wish.

"Good morning biwi! " He said yet again in an attempt to wake ger still sleeping mind. It was almost half past eight.

"Haa haa good morning ab batao tum kab uthe? " She said rolling her eyes at her husband who couldn't even see her doing that at the moment.

"Woh actually mera ek important meeting hai aaj, so 7 baje uth gaya tha mai! " He genuinely told her sipping his coffee.

"Ohh! Accha Raghav wahaa sab theek hai, right? " She asked as since she woke up, she was feeling uneasy. It was like her sixth sense trying to tell her something.

"Hmm baaki sab toh theek hai par ek cheez hai woh theek nahi hai! " He said in a sad tone.

"Kya? " She asked getting worked up.

"Mera dil! Woh tumko bohot miss kar raha hai! " He piped in and she heaved a sigh of relief at his answer.

"Raghav ab sirf 4 din bache hai so thoda aur wait! Hmm? " She asked as if he was some kid.

"Hmm! " He though hummed in response but she knew he was still upset.

"Accha bina naashta kiye ghar se mat nikalna tum! " She warned him to which he knitted his eyebrows in confusion.

"Kyu? " He asked the obvious.

"Raghav har baat pe kyu puchna zaruri nahi hota! Jitna bola hai utna karo warna mai tumse call pe baat nahi karungi! " She threatened him with the first thing which came in her mind, not knowing that his mood had further dampened hearing that from her.

"Ek toh tumhara yaha nahi hona already ek punishment hai aur ab tum mujhse baat nahi karega toh mai kya karega Pallavi? " He asked her in helplessness. Amma and Keerti who had joined him on the table, looked a bit worried about his level of attachment to Pallavi. At first they they had ignored it, but in only a day he was behaving like some cranky kid, missing his mother.

Amma and Keerti shated a look before starting to have their food as Raghav continued to talk with his wife, not caring about his surroundings.

"Mai toh bas isliye keh rahi thi taaki tum naashta karke niklo! Tumhe hurt nahi karna chahti thi! I am sorry Raghav! " She apologized holding her one ear even when he couldn't see her.

He pressed his lips in a thin line as he knew how much he tried to stay mad at her, she had ways to pacify him easily.

"Hmm! But next time se mat karna! " He though gave in but he knew she would definitely try to do it again in the coming 3 days to be exact.

"Yes boss! Accha tum naashta karo! Mai phone rakhti hu! " She said as she saw nikhil waiting to talk with her.

"Uhh biwi? " He asked and to to his luck she had heard him just before ending the call.

"Haa Raghav! " She said.

"I love you and i miss you! " He confessed making Amma and Keerti smile at his innocence.

"Me too Raghav! Chalo bye! "

"Arey kya didi? Pura boliye na! I know i love you bola hoga jeeju ne tabhi aap blush kar rahe ho! " Raghav heard Nikhil from the other end making him laugh.

"Chup karo tum Nikhil! " She hushed Nikhil who was still laughing.

"Arey kyu? Woh bilkul sahi ke raha hai! Pura bolo biwi! " Raghav teased her.

"ILoveYouAndIMissYou! " She said it too fast that it took him a minute to process her words and while he was busy processing her words, she ended the call.

He smiled at her antic and looked up to find amma and Keerti there too.

"Good morning Amma! Good morning Keerti! " He greeted them and they too greeted him as well.

He ate his breakfast quickly as he was running behind his schedule because of a certain call from his wife.

He then walked out the mansion, where Farhaad was waiting for him near his car.

Farhaad nodded his head and Raghav motioned him to get going. They then left for his office.

"Kya hua Farhaad achaanak se speed kyu badaaya? " He asked looking side ways at him.

"Anna kucch black cars bohot der se hamare peeche hai! " Farhaad told him in a worried tone as his gaze was shifting simultaneously from rear view mirror to front mirror of the car.

"What? " He looked at the rear view mirror and saw the P tag in bold in the bonet of the car which made him sure about who the people were.

"Yeh toh woh Sameer Pillai ka cars hai! Isko bhi aaj ka hi din mila tha marne ke liye! " He grunted angrily while looking forward.

"Anna situation bohot critical hai, hame jald se jald nikalna hoga! " Farhaad said trying to increase the pace of the car.

"Gaadi rok Farhaad! " Raghav ordered after a moment as he knew he couldn't run from it, he had to deal with the situation.

"What? Lekin Anna.. " Farhaad tried to reason his boss to which Raghav gritted his teeth in anger.

"Maine kaha gaadi rok! Aaj is Pillai ko sabak sikha ke rahega mai! Samajhta kya hai yeh apne aapko! " He ordered again.

Helplessly, Farhaad stopped the car on the side of the road and immediately Raghav got down.

Farhaad too got down and was immediately by Raghav's side.

"Anna ismei bohot khatra hai! "  Farhaad told as the cars who were following behind also stopped and a bunch of men got out lead by Sameer Pillai. Raghav's namesis enemy.

"Don't worry! It will be fine bas aaj ke liye apna woh naukri chod de! " Raghav replied in a hushed tone.

"Konsi naukri anna mai toh bas aap.. " Farhaad said in confused tone not knowing what was his boss implying to.

"Tumhara accha devar wala naukri. Yahaa aaj jo bhi hoga woh Pallavi ko pata nahi hona, Ardhamainda? " Raghav told him and Farhaad's face turned pale at Raghav's words.

"Nahi anna! Yeh galat hai, woh aapki wife hai! Unka haq hai aapke baare mei sab jaanna! " Farhaad reasoned as he sensed something wrong would happen.

"Mujhe lecture nahe hona Farhaad! Jaisa bola hai waisa kar!" He warned him.

Before Farhaad could debate with Raghav, they heard Sameer's voice "Arey mere pyaare dushman, kya khusur- fusur kar rahe ho apne secretary se? Mujhe bhi toh batao! "

"Tu toh bas apna ulta ginti chalu kar Pillai! Aaj Raghav Rao tujhe zinda nahi chodega! " Raghav shouted angrily.

"Accha? Oh mai toh darr gaya!" He mimicked before showing attitude to RaghavRaghav which got royally ignored.

"Oh cmon Raghav! Tumse bas woh Russian rare diamonds hi toh maange the! Agar de dete toh aaj tumhare marne ki nobat nahi aati! " Sameer told him and Raghav looked at the guy as if he was ready to kill him. He had a nerve to ask Raghav for rare diamonds that too on such a low price as if they were toffees.

"Yaha koi Bollywood movie nahi chal raha hai jo tum dialogue maare ja raha hai! Aur waise bhi dialogue maarna sirf Raghav Rao ka right hai kyuki yaha hero sirf mai hai! " Raghav said in his high pitched tone to which Sameer flinched a bit but covered it immediately.

"Accha jab yeh goli tumhare dil se hoke niklegi tab kya hoga is hero ka? Hmm? " Sameer replied walking closer to Raghav with a gun in his hand.

Raghav laughed at that making everyone else confused.

"Really ? I thought ham man to man fight karenge but i guess you are too weak for that! Iskeliye hi toh gun ke peeche chhup raha hai tum! " Raghav provoked him and Sameer instantly threw the gun away and ordered his men to not come in betweeen his fight.

"You are finished today! " He said before pouncing on Raghav.

They had a tough fight until Raghav was this near to beat Sameer to dead when they heard a gun shot.

"AHHHH! " Raghav shouted in pain as one of Sameer's men had shot him on the shoulder.

"ANNAAA" Farhaad shouted before running to him.

Sameer went towards his men and took the gun from his hand.

"Tujhe kisne kaha tha use maarne ko? I was handling it! " He furiously yelled before dagging bullets inside that guy.

"Tere aadmi ko laga kahi tu pit na jaye iskeliye usne maara! You lost, looser Sameer Pillai! " Raghav provoked Sameer, yet again.

"Akad chodo aur apni bach kuchi saasein gino! " Sameer said before storming off with his men.

"Anna hame aapko jaldi se hospital lejana hoga! " Farhaad said helping Raghav to walk towards his car while he winced in pain.

"Yaha aaj jo hua Pallav ko kucch pata nahi chalna chahiye, Farhaad! Infact Amma aur keerti ko bhi nahi! " Raghav chanted sitting inside the car.

Farhaad quickly walked to the other side of the car and fired up the engine.

"Lekin Anna.. "

"Hush argue mat kar! Mere paas waqt kam hai! " Raghav said in a bit dramatic tone

"Nahi Anna! Aapko kucch nahi hoga... " Farhaad replied in worry.

"Woh toh mai bhi jaanta hai idiot but pain thoda sa zada lag raha hai iskeliye apna muh ka loudspeaker band kar aur gaadi tez chala! " He told him as he knew he won't be dead as the bullet pierced his shoulder, not his heart.

"Ji Anna! " Farhaad increased the pace of the car and in no time they reached the hospital.

After a successful surgery, the doctors told both Farhaad and Raghav about the preventions they had to take along with the medicines as he was shot and it would affect his body before coming back to normal.

"Ab aap kaisa feel kar rahe hai, Anna! " Farhaad asked once the doctors left the room.

"It's better now! Accha ab doctor se discharge le le! Hame jaldi ghar jana hoga! " Raghav assigned him the task without looking at him.

"Lekin Anna aapko goli lagi hai! Doctor itni jaldi nahi discharge denge! " Farhaad said as minutes ago they wete lectured about the preventions.

"Mai nahi chahta ki Pallavi ya amma ko kucch bhi idea lage iskeliye mera raat hone se pehle ghar pohochna zaruri hai Farhaad! " He said as it was almost evening now! He couldn't stay in the hospital.

"Ji Anna! Mai doctor se baat karta hu! " Farhaad said in surrender.

"Hmm aur jaate jaate mera phone deke ja! " He said.

"Yeh lijiye Anna! " Farhaad took out his phone.

And as soon as he handed it started ringing, with a picture of Pallavi on the screen and name 'biwi'  flashing on it.

Giving one last nod to his boss Farhaad exited the room to give Raghav his privacy.

"Yes biwi! Are you missing your husband way too much as we had a conversation in the morning and it's not even evening yet! " He teased while trying his level best to not wince due to pain.

"Mazaak nahi Raghav! Mujhe bohot ghabraahat ho rahi thi isilye call kiya! Tum theek ho na? " He heard her worried tone from the other end.

'Yeh sach much Sherlock Holmes ka naani hai! How precisely she guessed!'He thought.

"Hello Raghav, Kaha kho gaye? Kucch bolo bhi! " Her words broke his trance of thoughts.

"Uhh Pallavi I am fine and i am in the office of course! " He white lied to her without stuttering or anything because he wasn't some kid to do that.

"Hmm" She said not knowing what else to say or ask to him.

"Sir you... " The nurse said coming inside the room.

He immediately signalled her to keep quite as he didn't want his wife to get an iota of idea of him being in the hospital bed or else she would create a havoc.

"Raghav yeh awaaz... " She asked in confusion

"Staff, biwi! Staff! " He told her while wiping the sweat beads from his face.

"Accha.. I guess i am dusturbing you! Mai baad mei call karti hu! " She said with an upset voice.

"Tum mujhe kabhi disturb nahi karta biwi! So tell me what else you wanna talk about? " He asked not wanting to make her sad specially when she was away from him.

"Uhh zada kucch nahi bas aise hi tumse baat karne ka man ho raha tha! Tumhe pata hai, mujhe subah se ajeeb lag raha tha but ab tumse baat hogayi toh sahi lag raha hai! Pata nahi kyu aisa ho raha tha! " She told him finally what she was going through since morning.

'Because you care too much for me biwi!' He thought and wanted to say the same but controlled himself.

"Kucch bhi biwi! Tum zada fikr mat karo! And agar karna hi hai toh wapas aajao waise bhi 1 day is enough i guess! " He told her cheekily.

"Raghav! " She said his name in a warning tone.

"Accha accha theek hai gussa mat karna! Tum batao tum kya kar raha hai?" He asked.

"Abhi toh filhaal sabko lunch karvaake.. " She was about thmo tell him the routine thing when he interrupted her.

"Aur tum? " He asked

"Huh? " She asked back in confusion.

"Tumne lunch kiya Saree ka dukaan?" He asked.

"Nahi abhi nahi kiya par...Raghav tum mujhse kucch chhupa rahe ho? "She asked and now was his turn to get confused as to how she was getting vague ideas.

"Kyuki saree ka dukaan kehke tum tab bulaate ho jab tumhara plan mujhe distract karne ka ho. " She told him truthfully and he mentally noted the fact to not mess it up next time.

"What? No... Accha i will call you biwi only! I don't want you to get any wrong ideas! " He said on surrender.

"Sab samajh rahi hu mai! Farhaad hoga na waha! Usse baat karao meri! " She said as getting information out of her husband was too difficult.

'Agar Farhaad se baat karaya then he will tell everything to her! Yeh Sherlock Holmes ka naani mujhe nahi chodega fir!' He gulped thinking about the consequences of letting her know about his health at the moment.

"Hello Raghav! Phone do bhi Farhaad ko! " She asked yet again.

"Woh abhi hai nahi yaha biwi! Tum use khud call karlo if you want that! Waise bhi you don't trust your husband anyway! " He though didn't like blackmailing her emotionally like her crazy family but at times like this, he gets helpless. She worry too much about him, gence he had to hide a few things from her.

"Nahi Raghav aisa nahi hai bas... Accha theek hai, nahi karungi call Farhaad ko! I am trusting your words Raghav! " She said before giving it a thought.

"Hmm thank you biwi! Bye! And i miss you! " He happily told her.

"I miss you too Mr. Rao! " She said before ending the call.

Later Raghav got discharged and went home. He sighed knowing the fact that Amma and Keerti weren't home.

"Make sure no one gets to know about it!" Raghav said yo Farhaad as he comfortably laid on the bed.

"Abhi toh sambhal jayegi situation lekin Anna jab bhabhi wapas aayengi tab kya karenge aap? " Farhaad asked tensed.

"I will handle her then but right now jaisa bola hai waisa kar! " He replied back.

"Ji Anna! " Farjaad said and after giving him the medicines he left.

Due to the effect of medicines, he dozed off and when he woke up, it was already 7 at night.

He was about to call for Farhaad when he got shocked seeing his wife standing near the edge of the bed.

"Pallavi tum yaha? " He asked

"Haa! Tumhe kya lagta hai ki tum mujhe nahi bataoge toh mujhe kucch nahi pata chalega? " She angrily asked him inficating how big of a trouble he was in.

"I knew it! Yeh Farhaad ko nahi chodega mai! " He said knowing the fact that Farhaad must had told her.

"Pehle tum mujhse toh bacho! " Her voice broke his trance.

"I am sorry biwi! I didn't want to worry you! " He said holding his ears cutely, knowing the fact that it work greatly on her.

"Toh tum mujhse itni badi baat chupaoge? Agar maine aisa kiya hota toh? " She retorted back and it gave him an idea that he had to do other things to simmer her anger down.

"I love you so much biwi and i missed you too aur ab tum waha khada hoke lecture de ra hai! Come to me please! " He asked innocently.

"Tumne miss kiya toh mai kya karu Raghav? I don't even want to talk to you right now! " She said looking away but he craved to hold her in his arms so threw the duvet away but in the process, his shoulder got hurt.

"Ahh! " He winced in pain as he tried to move his arm actively but since he had a bullet in his system a while back, he felt the pain get back at him.

"Biwi i am in pain please come here! " He said and looked up to find that no one was there.

"Pallavi! Pallavi! " He called out for her when Farhaad came.

"Anna aap bhul gaye bhabhi Deshmukh house gayi hai! " Farhaad told him the obvious making Raghav confused.

"Lekin woh abhi yaha... " He mumbled before realizing the fact that it was some sort of hallucination.

"Kya hua Anna? " Farhaad asked in a tensed tone.

"Nothing! Tum jao apna kaam karo! " Raghav immediately dismisses him.

"Ji Anna! " He then went away before closing the door.

"Idiot hogaya hai mai! Itna miss kar raha hai mai biwi ko ki imagine bhi kar raha hai! Waise yeh naya nahi hai, pehle bhi ho chuka hai! " He smiled thinking of the memories where he had imagined her when in real, she wasn't there. She had successfully occupied his brain even without him knowing.

"Kya hua patidev itni hasi kyu aa rahi hai? " She asked and he looked up as she sat beside him on the bed.

"Hai kucch baat biwi! Tum kab aayega? I am missing you! " He told her.

"Missing me? Lekin mai toh tumhare saamne hi hu! " She told him as he shook his head slightly.

"Accha ab dawai lelo apni! Dawaaiya apne aap toh tumhare pet mei jayengi nahi! You have to take them! " She taunted making him grimace at the name of those pills, but he anyhow took them before taling the glass of juice which was kept on the table as well as she stared at him.

He fondly raised his right hand in order to touch her face and in that exact moment, she vanished in thin air. One more hallucination, it was.

"Once you will be back, i am not letting you out of our room, biwi! " He said to the empty walls of his room.

After having his dinner, which was brought by Reddy, he was laying on his bed with eyes open as he was feeling bored and uneasy at the same time. Suddenly the door of his room flung open and Pallavi with a suitcase walked in.

"Ek aur imagination! I am getting insane i guess! " He muttered making her confused at his tone.

"Imagination? Yeh kya keh rahe ho tum?" She asked while putting the bag in the corner of the room so that no one gets hurt because of it.

"I know tum mera imagination hai! Evening se imagine kar raha hai mera mind tumhe! " He told her truthfully.

"Tumhe kaise batau ki mai koi imagination nahi hu? " She asked him to help her.

"Let me touch you! Touch karne se pehle tum gayab hojayega, i know! " He told her as it had happened earlier too.

"Accha? Chalo yeh bhi try kar lete hai! " She then walked towards him and like a kid he poked her cheeks.

His eyes widened on realizing the fact that she was here in real.

"Tum sach mei yaha hai? " He shrieked eith happiness.

"Hmm! Aur kya proof chahiye tumko?" She teased and was suddenly engulfed in a warm hug as he embraced her in his arms as if keeping her safe and protected in his arms.

Though she was happy to be back in his arms but his hug felt extra warm than usual. So to confirm her doubt she broke the hug and touched his forehead which was feverishly hot.

"Kya hua biwi? " He asked as she looked tensed to him.

"Raghav tumhe toh bohot tez bukhar hai! " She said getting tensed as to how he was even keeping up with such a high temperature.

"Ab tum aagaya hai toh it will be fine! " He whispered before feeling dizzy, all of a sudden.

He heard Pallavi shouting his name before his vision completely blacked out due to high fever.
