Chapter 5
Chapter Two:
A week had passed since the last time she had seen Shiva. He had been pulled into some work once again and was forced to leave for Mumbai just a day after he had come back. She was quite relieved that he had once again left as she had spent the entire week rethinking about what had happened in the tool shed. She could still feel his tongue gliding up and down her back, his large hands wrapped around her waist and his fingers running from the corner of his waist to her navel. She closed her eyes and relived the moment in her head, running through each scene one by one.
She quickly snapped out of her daze and focused on the sight in front of her. Staring back at her was a girl dressed in bridal attire, truly looking like the most beautiful girl of Somnath. Raavi was content with the way she looked and pleased that all the festivities had been completed without any complications. She knew that it was due to a certain individual’s absence but quickly resolved to not think about him today. It was after all her wedding day and the only man that deserved to occupy her thoughts was her future husband, Dev.
Shiva had not yet come back from Mumbai, but the rituals had carried on due to her MaasaPa’s poor health. Though everyone would have loved to have him in all the events, for MaasaPa’s happiness they completed all the rituals. Shiva was aware that Dev was getting married but due to some confusion he believed Rishita to be his bride and was therefore, elated with the alliance.
Raavi, meanwhile, couldn’t wait for Dev to see her in her bridal attire, as she was completely aware that he would be smitten by her beauty. She wasn’t normally this confident in her appearance but even she had to admit that she was looking like a princess in this dress. “Raavi beta bharat agayi hai,” her MaasiMa called, and she quickly ran to the balcony to see her prince charming.
There he was dancing on the horse with sheer happiness and excitement. She smiled at his antics and danced on the balcony as well in joy. She couldn’t wait to be his wife and Pandya Parivar’s brand new daughter-in-law.
Once Dev had entered into the hall, her MaasiMa and MaasaPa had brought her down to complete the wedding rituals. Everything felt so surreal, and she couldn’t believe that she was actually getting married. It all seemed like a daze until Dev pushed the dupatta off her head and filled the middle part of her hair with sindoor.
Raavi touched the sindoor and a tear of happiness rolled down her cheeks. Her joy was further increased when he tied the mangalsutra on her neck. Two of the most important markings of a married woman had adorned her and she was at peace with her new status. She was finally Dev’s, and he was hers.
They were about to take the blessings of their elders when they heard a thundering voice. “Ye sab kya ho raha hai yaha.” Raavi looked up and was faced with Shiva’s raging eyes, anger radiating off of his body. She huddled closer to Dev, her husband, in fear of what was about to happen.
