My Jeeva is here?

Virat slowly dragged his feet inside.

He saw a few patients playing together and moved ahead. He went to the receptionist:

"Hello. I'm ACP Virat Chahvan. I'm looking for somebody. His name is..." Virat found it difficult to say his name now, "His name is...Samrat Salunkhe"

"I'll check and tell you. Please wait." The receptionist looked into the list patiently while Virat was growing restless. But before he could lose his cool..

"I'm sorry Sir. There's no patient with this name in our asylum."

"A... Are you sure?"

"Yes"

"May I have a look?" But before she could reply, Virat pulled the register from her and started searching his name frantically in the names starting from the letter 's'. He searched for the name again and again but didn't find Samrat's name in the register. He felt relieved but at the same time, a tear dropped down from his eyes. And he knew this tear was of pain. He didn't know whether to be happy or cry. The thought that Samrat is not here makes him happy but at the same time, it means he was still missing. A part of him wants to cry. He gave the register back and turned but suddenly he heard:

"Did you give Jeeva his medicine?"

"How many times do I need to tell you his name is Shiva, not Jeeva. He keeps saying this name."

"But he also says Jeeva. Jeeva Shiva Jeeva Shiva, bus yahi Karta rehta hai."

His eyes followed the voices and saw two men speaking. He almost ran up to them.

"Mujhe leke chalo"

They looked at him confused.

"I SAID TAKE ME TO MY JEEVA. NOW." Virat shouted

"Who are you?" one of them said irritated.

"I am... Shiva."

"You know him?"they looked surprised.

"Mera bhai hai. Please mujhe leke chalo" Virat said almost pleading.

He was taken to a room.

His back was towards them. And he was scribbling something on a wall.

Virat's feet froze.

His life with Samrat right from childhood till his marriage when he last saw him swam in front of his eyes.

"Jee...va" Virat said but it sounded more like a sob.

Samrat turned and looked at them. For a few seconds his face showed no emotions. He didn't seem to recognise Virat. But then he smiled and gestured Virat to come close.

Virat smiled through his tears and started walking towards him with tears in his eyes.

"Jee...va"

As he came close and tried to hug him, Samrat grabbed his neck.
