The sound of the irritating alarm disturbed her sleep. She switched it off and pulled the blanket on again. She could hear her sister chuckle and it hit her when she said in a sweet tone.

"Wake up, Sleepy head! Are you going to be late on the first day of your college?"

Sarah opened her eyes in a jerk.

She rolled out of the bed and stretched in the direction of the sun just shining its warm golden light over the mountain. The entire meadow was glowing under its morning warmth and the dew was still plainly visible on all the blades of grass nearby.

Admiring the nature was one of her favourite thing to do. But she didn't want to get late at the first day of the college, so she rushed to get ready.

She brushed her teeth, had a quick bath and got ready for college. She wore a coffee coloured Kurta with black leggings, combed her hair in a pony tail and had a minimum makeup with face cream and lip gloss, finishing it with an eyeliner. She ate something in a hurry, hung her bag on the shoulder, she ran to her mother and kissed her on cheek. Her dad was going to drop her at college which was nearly 4 kilometres away from her house.

Sarah was always a bright student but her heart beat was fast as she entered a noisy classroom. But the moment she steeped inside, she felt like every thing froze. The students looked at her as if she was an alien. But she kept walking. She reached the last bench and sat at the only seat left there. She sighed a relief when everyone got busy in their stuffs just like before.

Sarah gazed around. Everyone talked to each other but her. Why? Was she not visible to anyone? Wait! If it was it, then why did they all became silent when she came in? She was irked inside because it was next to impossible for me to sit silently for such a long time. It was just not she. She looked at the girl siting beside her. She looked back at her feeling the gaze on her. Sarah smiled. She smiled back and git back to what she was doing, writing something on the notebook. She found it a little.. ah.. weird?

She took a sigh of relief when it was announced lunch after 4 consecutive tiring classes. Sarah followed the girl next to her and was guided towards the canteen. She silently ate her food without caring for anyone because frankly, she was more than hungry! She rinsed her hand and came out of the canteen. She walked towards the gate and their Mathematics teacher asked her to sit inside a winger which was going to drop us home. They were in a day boarding college but as it's the first day, they were getting a half day. She climbed the vehicle and found a girl in sandal colour dress already sited there. With her soft curls falling on her shoulder, she looked simple yet beautiful in her knee length dress. Sarah sat beside her.

"Hello. I am Sarah!" she said in the most sweetest way possible.

"Call me, Leher!" she smiled back at her.

Her smile had a spark. Her eyes devoted passion, dedication and commitment towards life. Anyways, finally Sarah made a friend!

Leher appreciated the new girl's effort to be friends. She found her smile adorable and decided to smile back. Leher was someone who always had chosen friends and never talks to anyone on first hand. But she was happy to talk to Sarah. She found her beautiful.

The next day at college started with a physics class. The lecture was on but Leher was waiting for her best friend. They have been friends from kinder garden days. They knew each other's every secret as they share everything with each other. She has straight hair and deep chestnut brown eyes. Like most teenagers she pays a lot of attention to her appearance. She is also too emotional because she doesn't forget those who have caused her harm. But why was she so late today? Leher would never forgive her for leaving her alone today! Not literally alone, but she really felt alone without her.

Best friend vibes, you know!

The next moment, she saw her enter wearing her favourite peach full hand dress. Her diamond earrings were just like cherry on the cake. That's her best friend who manages to look mesmerizing every other day. She was the best example of Simplicity is the best beauty!

Leher put my bag on her lap and moved a little to give her space to sit. But to her surprise, she walked past.

"Hey! Come here!" Leher called her.

"Will she sit alone?" she asked her brows up.

Leher looked back and found Sarah looking at them blinking her eyes. She smiled at her and she smiled back. This is the first time her best friend hasn't sat with her since childhood. She remember once in school when Leher had her tiffin with some other girl, she had cried so much that she fell ill the next day. And she herself went away, today?

Was this Sarah girl stealing her best friend from Leher?

Leher! Stop being insecure! No one can take her away from you!
And, Sarah seems to be a nice girl. May be she can make friends easily?

"Hey, I am Hayat." Leher heard Hayat introducing herself to Sarah.

She tried to concentrate on lectures but could constantly hear Hayat and Sarah giggling. Some chuckles were also heard in the middle.

"Hey! Your pen works nice." Hayat exclaimed. "How much?"

"I will get you one." Sarah said.

Now, why will she get a new pen for her best friend?

For god sake, damn Leher! Stop thinking rubbish. A pen isn't going to create a distance between you two.

The bell rang for lunch hour. Leher still couldn't believe that she and Hayat spent half of the day without talking to each other.

Hayat along with Leher and Sarah marched towards the canteen as soon as the bell rang. They stood in a queue to get food and sat in a corner. She knew that Leher was a little disappointed that she didn't sat with her in the class, but she am sure she would love Sarah more and more as much as she will get to know her.

Hayat found Sarah really sweet. Her smile was what had caught her attention. She had smiled at her when their eyes met and she was sitting alone at the last bench. Even when she wore simple jeans and top, she looked breathtakingly beautiful. Hayat instantly had a gut feeling that she is beauty with a beautiful heart. Till the time she had known her, she could say that Sarah was really punctual and never takes things too seriously. Sarah and Leher got engaged in normal talks just like she and Sarah were doing in the class, meanwhile Hayat felt a gaze on her.

She raised her eyes up and found someone looking at her intensely. She looked back down to her plate. She felt uncomfortable.

"I am done." she heard Leher and saw her getting up. "Excuse me."

Leher left back to the class. She and Sarah came out after 5 minutes or so, when Hayat heard it again.

"It's been a month, now. At least tell your name!"

She turned her head and saw the same guy, Shaurya.

The one who keeps looking at her during the lectures, inside the canteen, everywhere, every time. Since the day when they started the demo classes in this college, a month now. She ignored him and kept walking.

"How long?" Sarah asked and Hayat frowned.

"Since when is he asking?" she finally said.

Damn! We became friends the last day and this guy is not making really a good impression of me in her!

"Ah.." she stammered. "Many... Many days. I don't remember, actually."

She just nodded. They didn't have a conversation after that. They were back home at 5 in the evening. But all Hayat could think all night was only, Shaurya.

Why isn't he going out of my mind? Why am I thinking about him? No one has given me so much importance before.

Actually, she was liking it. Oh wait! Was she liking Shaurya? Was she falling in love?

Oh yes! Hayat, it's your first love!

Who should she tell about it? Leher? No. She has always been possessive for her and when she will come to know this, she didn't know how would she react. But she badly needed to tell someone this. Sarah? Right. She will understand. The first thing that she would do when she reach college tomorrow was to tell Sarah about her feelings.

So, Miss Hayat Mathur; was going to get a new experience and also a new best friend!
