Part 16 - ‘Ek din aap yun”

The family is still processing Virat’s action of name change. Everybody has a different take on it but mostly positive especially from the SaiRat team.

Sai, on the other hand, is highly emotional. She has finally realized that Virat has changed for good and now they also have the tacit approval of Bhavani Kaku and elders. It is time for a new beginning. She decides to enlist Mohit's help for her plan.

For the reception, Sai is wearing a yellow saree, similar to the one she was wearing for Basant Panchami. Virat who has reached the venue earlier for some arrangements is looking for her among all the guests. Sai sees him talking to Aai and goes and stands next to him.

“Haaye, kitni pyaari lag rahi ho tum Sai'' exclaims Aai making Virat turn and see. He is completely awestruck and remembers her in the same look from earlier. The way he is looking at her, makes her blush and she continues talking to Aai while side eyeing Virat.

“Virat Sir…” calls Sai

“....”

“Virat Sirrrr”

“Hmm… haan haan.. Kya hua?”

“Use kuch nahi hua.. Tumhe kuch hua hai” smiles Ashwini and says “Tum dono baatein karo main aati hun” and knowingly leaves them alone.

Virat, still looking at Sai, almost has his heart in his eyes. Sai, enjoying the effect she is having on him, holds his arms and asks him to accompany her.

Sai takes him to the other part of the venue, on the terrace, and Virat, eager and excited enters after her. The terrace is decorated with balloons and flowers. In the centre, there is a small cake. Behind it are a few curtains adorned with photos of Sai and Virat. ‘Ek din aap’ is playing in the background.

Virat, noticing everything and suddenly remembering the Anniversary fiasco looks at Sai, shocked.

Sai, understanding his thought process, lets him compose himself.

“I am sorry Modak, us din maine aapke saath bahot bura behave kiya tha, I want to turn that into a good memory. This is my attempt at making up to you. Please come”

Virat, still recovering from the memories of that day is just looking at Sai and absorbing everything. There are few recent pictures in the lot and many old ones. He moves to the table to see the cake. It is a small cake with nothing except “YES” written on it.

Unable to understand, he turns around to see Sai sitting on one knee with a red rose in her hand, very similar to another Mahabaleshwar memory.

Sai, noting his discomfort, gets up and holds his hands in hers looking down at how beautiful they looked joined together.

“Aap Mahabaleshwar ko ek bure sapne ki tarah dekhte hai, lekin aapne jo bhi kiya tha, vo us samay main samajh nahi paayi, na hi aapne mujhe thik se explain kiya. But your efforts were praiseworthy and even though we fought about it, I want to recreate it for you.”

Virat is still looking at her stunned.

“Virat….”

Suddenly hearing Virat instead of Virat Sir or Modak from her mouth, Virat stops her… “Kya kaha tumne?”

Sai blushes and says again “Virat”

Virat has an expression that makes Sai turn a deep shade of red. He says, “Ek baar aur bolo”

Sai, now in mock anger, “Are aap uske aage kuch bolne denge?”

Virat wholeheartedly laughs at his junglee mulgi… “Acchha accha bolo”

Sai, blushing again but looking deep into his eyes says,

“Virat… I… love you"  

"Aani me punha lagna karayala tayar aahe”

Virat takes a step backward almost stumbling in amazement and shock. He has happy tears in his eyes but quickly goes and picks up Sai and turns her around, earning squeals from her. He puts her down and holds her close.

He first gently kisses her forehead and asks "Pakka?". Sai mumbles hmmm. Next he kisses her cheeks, "Soch lo". Sai, enjoying the feeling, says "Soch liya". Virat now boldened, holds her face in his hands and asks again "Deal?". Sai is looking at him with so much passion that he doesn't wait for her answer. Her "Yes" dissolves in his lips. They kiss passionately, relishing the moment and all the love they have for each other.

Later, Sai cuts the cake with him and feeds him. He does the same but instead of going for another one, leans towards her and says, "Mujhe aur cake chahiye.. lekin tumhara wala" and kisses her once again. They start dancing but are disturbed by Mohit calling Sai; she puts it on speaker.

"Haan bolo, Mohit bhaiya"

"Vahini, kya hua, Dada ko mana liya?"

Virat interjects, "Haan gadhe, mana liya.. ab disturb karna band kar"

Mohit - "Sorry Dada, par kuch relatives aapko pooch rahe hai isliye call karna pada"

Virat and Sai look at each other and reluctantly move downstairs. On the way down, Virat tickles Sai on her back, shocking her.. "Kya kar rahe hai?"

"Kabse karne ka man tha, aaj mauka mila hai' and winks at her. Sai can only blush and quickly moves towards Gauri and Karishma who knowing where they were start teasing her. 

“Sai Bhabhi, jara touchup karke aao to… aisa lagta hai koi aapki lipstick kha gaya hai” shocking Sai and Virat quickly puts his hand on his mouth, leading to a guffaw among the group.

Virat later sends her message.. "The first time I really looked at you was when you wore yellow. Today it signifies the light you have brought back into my life. Thank you for being my sun. I love you. 😘"

I am in two minds about Sai calling him as Virat... personally I feel 'Virat Sir' is more endearing and is very unique to SaiRat. However, wanted to give a shock to Virat and myself , hence Virat.
