The Chavan brothers happily married their sister off to Pulkit. Samrat and Virat behaved cordially for her happiness. The cold war was visible but at least they didn’t have any argument. Harini was the happiest of them all. Finally she could show off to her friends that she too has a family. She too was loved and pampered by her uncles, aunts and grandparents.

The wedding bothered Bhavani and for the first time in thirty five years in the Chavan Niwas she felt powerless. The new generation was gradually taking over the authority she had established almost three decades ago. She gave blessings to her daughter but not to Pulkit. She was convinced that Devyani will be forced to come back home soon as Pulkit won’t be able to handle her mentally ill daughter. Virat handed over his duty to Pulkit and requested him to follow the treatment and the medication given by the doctor. He wanted the old Devi Tai back.

Devyani who always dreamed to get married in the presence of the family was finally happy even though her mother, uncles and one of the aunts skipped it. At least the people who genuinely wanted her happiness were present. She was also happy that Sai was back and could attend her big day. She prayed for her daughter to accept her as a mother, her brothers to patch up and Virat and Sai finally understand each other’s feelings.

Virat went to his room filled with emptiness. He was already missing his sister. He was also worried about her relationship with her daughter and if Pulkit will be able to handle her. Lost in his thoughts he went to sleep.

« May I know the reason why you are ignoring me since I am back in the house ? Why are you making me feel like I don’t exist. Aren’t you happy to see me back ? », Sai had enough of his indifference.
« My happiness or unhappiness does it even count Sai ? You decided to leave the house on your own and then decided to come back because of Samrat. Where am I in all of this ? No where. So I am happy or not doesn’t actually matter. », Virat replied frankly and coldly.
« I didn’t come back for Samrat dada. I came back for you. », she said.
« That’s why Samrat could effortlessly convince you to come back but I couldn’t. », he remarked.
« I didn’t come back with you because I didn’t know the truth. I came back with Samrat dada because he told me everything about you. », she informed him.

Virat listened to her without saying anything. She rounded the bed and held his hands.

« Virat Sir, I was angry with you for your behavior towards me but when I got to know that you just wanted to protect me my anger immediately disappeared. I left because of you and I also came back for you not anyone else. », she explained.

Virat wanted to go away and think about it but Sai stopped him by holding his hand. She seeked refuge in his arms.

« I know you don’t want my presence in your life because I am like a nightmare for you but I don’t know why I still came back to make your life miserable. », she said keeping him tight against her.
« You are not a nightmare Sai and you don’t make my life miserable. On the contrary, you make my life great because you are a beautiful person. It’s just that sometimes you are too stubborn. It gets hard to make you understand what’s bad for you and stop you from doing something stupid. », he explained.
« But you said that I was a nightmare. », she reminded him.
« No, what I meant was that you are a nightmare when you act stubborn but I am sorry if I made you feel bad. », he apologized.
« Are you going to stay mad at me ? », she asked innocently.
« No Sai. », he laughed.

She broke the hug and laughed along with him. Their misunderstanding sorted out, they went to bed. He helped her in making the pillow wall before falling into a deep peaceful sleep.

The next day, Sai ready to go downstairs was waiting for Virat. He came out from the washroom in his uniform. He walked towards the dressing table and fixed his hair. Sai standing on his right side, couldn’t take her eyes off him. He was an extremely handsome man but this was one of the rare times that she was admiring his good looks as her husband. When their eyes met he couldn’t understand why she was staring at him like this.

« Kya hua ? », he broke her out of reverie.
« Kuch nahin. », she replied blushingly.
« Ok! », he replied confused. « Listen, let’s have dinner outside. », he walked close to her.
« Not really a good idea. Your family won’t like it that too now when they are quite disturbed with all the things happening. », she replied.
« They have to accept that people can’t stop living for one or two members of the family. We went through a lot lately and we deserve to give ourselves some time. », he said.
« Ok then. », she replied.

They joined the family for breakfast. Bhavani asked about when will Omkar and Pakhi get bailed out. Virat replied that if it depended on him, they wouldn’t come out before months. Unfortunately they were lucky to have people who value family. The couple quickly finished eating and left.

Sunny paid Virat a visit during his lunch break and both went to the nearest restaurant. Sunny was happy to hear that his friend and Sai were back to normal. He laughed when Virat told him that he asked Sai out for dinner.

« Bhai, are you aware that you are suffering from a dangerous illness ? », Sunny asked.
« Huh? », Virat asked confused.
« Loveria ho gaya hai tujhe. », Sunny burst out laughing.
« Ho gaya tera bakwaas ? », Virat threw the menu card at him.
« You get upset that she didn’t come back for you. Then as soon as things are sorted out between you two you take her out. Waaah waaah !!! », Sunny teased him.
« Tu mujhe yahan lunch karne le aaya hai. Mujhse pyaar vyaar toh nahin hogaya hai tujhe ? », Virat made fun of him.
« Haan ho gaya hai par dil par patthar rakh ke mein mera pyaar kurbaan kar raha hoon mere bhai. », he replied dramatically.
« Maar jaa saale. », Virat shook his head.

Sai came back from college and let herself fall on the bed. She stared at the ceiling and remembered that Virat had asked her out for dinner. A smile appeared on her face. She got up and went to sleep on his side of the bed. She hugged one of his pillow that still had his scent and fell asleep. Virat came back from his duty and found a sleeping Sai. He wondered why she was sleeping on his side of the bed but he found it quite amusing and cute. Her innocence and quietness while asleep always made his heart beat fast. He gently touched her shoulder to wake her up. She jerked awake and was embarrassed that he found her sleeping on his side. He requested her to get ready quickly because he was starving.

She came back from the washroom within a few minutes. She wanted to make him happy and opted for a white saree. For once she thought about his liking instead of hers. Virat’s jaw dropped seeing her in that white saree. This wasn’t the first time he was seeing her in white but it was definitely the first time that he was feeling something strangely different which he had never felt before.

« Virat Sir, come out of your lala land and get ready please. », she snapped him out of his thoughts.

He ran to the washroom and smiled at himself in the mirror. He was conscious that for the first time he got turned on by his wife. What he didn’t know was that he was unconsciously turned on by her from day one.

Virat parked his car and asked her to stay inside. He put a few bags in the car trunk and came back inside. Sai bombarded him with questions but he told her to have patience. A few minutes later he parked his car in front of a giant house and this time he let her out. He held her hand and dragged her to the entrance of the house. He pressed the doorbell and waited for someone to open while her eyes were filled with questions. A teenage girl opened the door with a joyful « Virat Dada ». A dozen of children welcomed them happily. He asked them to help him get the bags out of the car trunk while two elderly women dragged Sai inside the house.

« You must be Mrs. Sai Chavan. », one of them asked.

Sai nodded and looked around. The place was decorated with balloons. Virat joined them and started the introductions. They were standing inside an orphanage. Five years ago when he got his first paycheck, his hard earned money, he wanted to do some charity to start his career with blessings. He came in contact with this orphanage and paid a visit. He met one of the children and was deeply affected that the six years old child was upset about his birthday not being celebrated. Virat left the place with a heavy heart and then returned a few hours later with a huge cake and chocolates for all the kids. Their smiles, specially the birthday boy’s, made him take the decision that he will make sure all the kids from the orphanage get a chance to celebrate their birthdays every year. Since then on every child’s birthday either he sends the money or he himself organizes the party like today. The kids have met him only five times but they idolize him for bringing joy in their lives. He then presented Sai to everyone who accepted her whole heartedly.

Sai gazed at him lovingly while he was playing with the children. When he asked her out for dinner she expected something more intimate where only the two of them would spend some time together like they did previously on their birthdays but this surprise wasn’t a bad one. She was very happy to see this side of him and the respect she had for him instantly increased. She was so proud to be married to a generous man like him. « Oh stupid Sai this is the man you always misunderstand. », she talked to herself inwardly.

The table was set in the garden with the food brought by Virat. They shared the meal all together and then the birthday girl cut the cake. Like well-behaved kids, they didn’t expect any gift but Virat surprised them with movie tickets. They were all so happy and requested him and Sai to accompany them but they couldn’t accept it because of their respective duties and college.

« I had a great night, Virat Sir. », Sai said on their way back home. « My respect for you has escalated. You are a good person, Virat Sir. Thank you for making me a part of your secret life. », she added.
« I have seen your goodness Sai the day you offered food to kids on my birthday. I wanted you to be a part of the same cause. », he replied.
« Where is my gift ? », she asked.
« Your gift ? », he asked confused.
« Never mind you can still buy me an ice cream. », she suggested.

He laughed. All this drama for an ice cream. They stopped by an ice cream vendor and bought two. They walked on the streets for some time to enjoy the fresh air with the ice cream. Soon the weather changed and they were showered with the rain. He ran towards the car while she refused to go. He leaned against the car and watched her enjoy the rain. Her white saree stuck to the skin raised the temperature in him. Sai sensually walked towards him and pressed herself against him. Her face was just an inch away from him. He almost felt her lips against his. She hesitated for a couple of seconds before kissing him passionately. The sound of a horn took him out of his reverie. Sai was nowhere close to him. She was still enjoying the rain, far away from him. He shook his head and slapped his own self.

« What happened Virat Sir ? », Sai asked amused.
« Please, ghar chaale ? », he requested her.

Sai agreed and came running to him. He opened the door for her and then rounded the car to get inside. He drove in silence, thinking again and again about the day dream he just had.

Virat devoured Sai while she took her nightwear out from the wardrobe. Her wait hair and that wet white saree was driving him crazy. When she turned around, she felt his piercing gaze on her. For the first time she felt quite uneasy but in a good way. She felt her cheeks heating up and ignoring him she went to the washroom.

Sai was already asleep after Virat came out of the washroom. Even after the hot shower, he was still feeling so cold. He went to the kitchen to make a cup of tea for himself. He then went to the balcony to enjoy the warmness of the drink. Alone, he was haunted by a bunch of questions. Why was she affecting him so much lately ? Why couldn’t he take his eyes off her ? Why was he unable to control his heart ? Why did he imagine her kissing him ? He put his hands on the balustrade for support and tried to delete the image of Sai giving him a kiss.

« Yeh kya ho raha hai mere saath ? », he asked to himself. « Was Sunny right when he said that I was in love with Sai ? Am I actually falling in love with Sai ? », he continued to question himself.

He closed his eyes and all their beautiful moments flashed before his eyes. « I love you Sai. », came out of his mouth. He reopened his eyes in shock.
