Waiting for you
She reached there at correct 12 PM. Yes. She was on time. She was gonna get him back, forever. She was waiting. But it was what she hates. To wait! But, she needs to... she has learned to wait. She has waited for a whole year. She is the only one who knows how she has managed everything without him. In this year which she spent without him, she has realized that he is not her need, but her habit. She couldn't live without him. And today, she was going to tell him this.
She was now confused. She has waited very long. It was going to be night and he... he didn't come. Was this her fault? Has he moved on? Doesn't he need her anymore? But, how can it be possible? He had tried his best to be with her, then how can he forget her? The street was now clear. Everyone went to their respective places.
Sharon was left standing there, all alone, with a look of despair, with a feeling of frustration and with the will to make things alright. She had been under so many misconceptions; she had conveniently assumed so many things over the past. Today she has realized that all along she was living in a world she had made for herself, not in reality because today she realized reality was what she had always been running away from, what she had not cared to see.
She sat there, on the ground. She was now sure that this was the time to make the things alright, to make some amends, to get her love back into her life and to apologize, as profusely as she could for all that she had put him through.
It was raining, raining so heavily that it was hard to see anything clearly. She had been wrong, so wrong. Swayam had in fact never been the reason for the tragedies, at least not in the way she thought he had.
"Swayam!" she screamed in desolation and cried, cried in pain, cried in love, cried in hope, cried for Swayam, cried for her past and for her future. She cried so that God would hear her and make things alright.
She was walking like a zombie, like a human without life, like a man without a soul, like a lover without her love. Was she getting the punishment of insulting Swayam's love? Or of not accepting the truth which everyone knew. Or it was all because behaving so weird with him? Was it because he cried for her so much? He had always loved her. But she had always insulted his love. Break-up had been casual in their relationship and the reason was she herself always.
She sat on a bench. What does destiny exactly want from her? When he needed her, she denied. And today when she needs him, it's all over! Is it really over? Is it for memories only? Was she going to live her life all alone? Does she really deserve this?
There were many questions. And the answers were to be given by only one person-Swayam. But where was he? Swayam - the lover boy never breaks a promise, then why today? Or the lover boy himself was a dream? Dream, No! This can't be true! She can't live a dream for so long! She can't love a dream more than her life! But where have the lover boy lost?
"Enough! Sharon! You're thinking too much!" she said to herself. "He will come. He can't do this to me." She said in a dim voice.
"You can't do this to me!" screamed she. She cried loudly, Shouting, screaming as loud as she can. All of a sudden, she felt something on her shoulder. She looked up. He was none other than the love of her life, the truth of her life, the meaning of her life. Swayam.
She didn't waste a second to jump on his arms. It was the time she felt like she is back to life. She got her breath back. She wanted to stay like that only; she wanted to be like that forever!
He closed his eyes and held her tightly. He smiled trying to hide his tears between the raindrops. He only knows how has he lived without touching her for so long! He wished the time to stop there forever!
"Sharon I..."
"shhh..!" she tightened the hug. "Don't say anything. Let me live the moment fullest!"
He wanted to cry more. He tightened the hug.
"How could you stay without me, Swayam?"
"I have seen you from far always, Sharon. Each festival, every anniversary. Whether its holi or diwali, our first date anniversary or last breakup, I have always had a glimpse of you. Outside your house or, office."
She broke the hug.
"You broke your promise?"
" I never break my promise. We decided that we will not meet for a year. There was no deal of just seeing you."
Sharon smiled in happiness and hugged him.
"I don't know what would have I done if you had not come!"
Swayam hugged back.
"I would have not let you do anything, I was watching you."
"What do you mean?" She asked breaking the hug.
" Sharon, I was here before you and I.."
"And you were testing my patience and love!" She cut him in between.
"Sharon I..."
"You what? Its night now damn it! I was waiting for you for hours. Crying, screaming and don't know what more in the rain! And you.. you just don't care!"
"Of course I care, damn it! That's why I couldn't stop myself as much as I wanted to. I have also waited for a long year. I have also cried, I was also in pain. Just because I care! Can you hear that Sharon? I care because I love you!"
There was silence.
"Whatever!" She left.
"Oh! Not again!" Swayam followed in disgust.
Sharon entered her room and sat on the bed in anger. Swayam entered.
"How dare you follow me?"
"At least listen to me..."
"Just go swayam, just go away..."
She pushed him away but he held her arm.
Swayam pinned her against the wall. They kissed after a long time.. Their breaths fanned each other's faces. They forgot what had happened in the past. One kiss was enough to break the notes of misunderstanding.
"Swayam... I..."
Swayam shut her up by keeping his index finger on her lips.
"Don't say anything."
His voice was firm. His eyes deeply drowned in hers. Her heart pounding as fast as it could. He breathed into her.
Swayam tightens his grip. He pushed her hard against the wall. Moved so close that he could almost hear her heartbeat. It was like music to his ears. He took his lips near her ears. He nibbled the lobe of her right ear. He smelled her perfume. The fragrance was the same. Sharon tried really hard to free her hands, but couldn't do it. She felt a rush of feeling! It was hard for her to control her thirst! She swallowed a lump of emotions. Swayam moved his face across hers. Reaching her neck, which was bare, he starred at it as Sharon took over. She then moved her lips towards Swayam's. He forgot about the neck as he saw those same two lips & remembered their first kiss... He reached out for the kiss. His hands still pushing hers against the wall. Their heads tilted in the opposite direction, helped their lips to finally meet. Their lips moved in sync. Swayam's lips went up & Sharon's went down. Swayam broke the kiss to catch some air. They breathed heavily. Sharon pushed him & tried to run but Swayam held her across her waist & pushed her to the bed.
Swayam came upon her. He moved her head to the side with his so that he could reach her neck. He kissed the neck then the cheeks.
"Swayam, it's.. I don't think its.."
He stopped.
"You used to say, we should wait." She said.
"It's the high time waiting now, Sharon. For ourselves and for each other."
Sharon smiled and put her hand on his chest. With a smooth push, she made him lie on the bed. Kissing his forehead she kept her head on his chest when Swayam turned off the lamp.
It wasn't the end, It was a new beginning!
