So Fanfiction writers can be referred to as 

Dream-makers or Wish-fulfillers or even Superfans of the media they consume.  

Or perhaps they are just novices looking to flex their writing muscles in a fandom that has eager and willing readers that are already invested. 

But isn’t it wonderful that all their work, born out of love for the characters and the universe they belong to, is available to us for free?

Isn’t it a travesty then, that they have little recognition outside of the fandom they write for?
