Chapter 1 - The Triangular Infatuation

Kolkata

Soumya's house,

Manike Mage Hithe song plays in the radio. 

A girl is drying her wet hair along with synchronizing her lips to the song. Few dresses were scattered on her bed. She is confused on choosing the dress.

Janvi comes inside with a smile, "Good morning Soumya. Where are you lost?"

Soumya looks at her with a sheepish smile, "Mom, I am confused what to wear today. I have worn all the dresses."

Janvi asks, "Are you bothered about such a petty thing? Let me help you."

Soumya says, "Actually, I want to look beautiful today since it is our college farewell today. I want to be pretty in all the photos."

Janvi replies, "That's why, you should know what to wear, what type of dresses look beautiful for you, suits skin tone and all. Now, for the sake of photo, you're creating a drama."

Soumya says, "What is the use of having a fashion designer as a mother? She teach me nothing..."

Soumya teases Janvi. Janvi pulls her ears.

Janvi says, "You are not heeding to my words and now taunting me as well."

Soumya says, "Mummy, leave me..."

Janvi leaves her. Soumya sugarcoats Janvi to help her.

Janvi selects a suitable dress of Soumya's choice and gives it to her. Soumya hugs Janvi and wears the dress. Janvi does a makeover for Soumya as per her request.

Ashwin comes inside and cannot believe what is going on inside. Soumya and Janvi smiles. Ashwin enters inside and checks the window.

Soumya frowns, "baba (dad), you're too much. Rain won't come."

Ashwin giggles.

Ashwin - "Something is fishy in my daughter's mind."

"Looks like Didi (elder sister) has some boyfriend in the college," says Prem who is standing at the doorway. Soumya throws some pillows on him, but he catch it. Prem is Soumya's paternal cousin.

Soumya - Hey Chotu! Go and prepare for your NEET exam. A kiddo is talking to me like this!"

Prem - "Don't call me Chotu, buddhiya... I'm 19 already and going to complete my first year. Update yourself daily, Buddhiya."

Soumya - "Chotu Chotu Chotu...What will you do after all?"

Prem - "I'll pour grease on your face so that your boyfriend run away from you."

Janvi who is making adjusting Soumya's hair, also laughs.

Soumya - "Maa, where is Pishimaa (aunt)? Let Pishimaa come home from Hosiptal, I'll tackle you then. This kiddo is always pulling my legs."

Janvi - "Stop stop stop... Nothing is fishy. For the first time, I felt that my genes are there in my daughter. Let her be good-looking from now on. Self Love is important."

Soumya - "Maa, I am always your daughter only. You carried me in your womb for 9 months."

Janvi - "Your icing won't work with me. Keep that to your Architect Baba. Ask sorry to Prem for calling him, kiddo."

Soumya - "Sorry Chotu..."

Soumya, Janvi, Prem and Ashwin laugh.

Soumya - "Okay bye, baba and maa. I'll be returning home by 6 PM."

Ashwin - "You're going earlier than time and returning later than scheduled. What is going on?"

Soumya - "I have to do some decorations and then, a small party after farewell. After all, we don't know where our friends settle."

Ashwin - "Hmm... Okay. Call me at 6. I'll pick you."

Soumya nods and looks at Prem, "Oye kiddo! Bye."

Prem frowns and Soumya goes laughing.

 After 10 minutes of walking, her friends Radha and Vashma joined with her.

Radha - "Baap re baap! I can't believe my eyes. You're looking like a diva."

Soumya smiled for her compliment.

Vashma - "You're looking beautiful."

Soumya - "I hope Rudra also tells the same when I propose him on knees."

Radha - "He'll definitely fall head over heels in love with you."

Vashma - "All the best. But, ready to take a no. Don't ruin your friendship due to your adamancy."

Soumya - "He won't say no, Vashma. I am confident."

Vashma - "But..."

Soumya - "By the way, Rudra called me to the nearby bakery. He need to meet me so. Maybe, he is also calling me for proposing."

Radha - "Don't go over-excited. He is your friend from your childhood. Does he need a reason to call you?"

Soumya - "Oh come on, girls. Instead of boosting my confidence, you're toning down. Rudra has come home after two weeks. It is too difficult to pass my time without seeing his face."

Vashma - "Okay, we have reached the place. We are going to the nearby mall. Go and talk to Rudra."

Radha and Vashma gets into the mall while Soumya moves forward and wait at the bakery. After 5 minutes, Rudra comes in his bullet bike. Though the bike created noise, she is lost in his incredible looks. He parked his bike and adjusted his wavy hair and comes towards Soumya.At the entrance of bakery, there is a rose plant. Rudra picked a rose from there and kneels down at her.

Rudra - "Hey, my princess! You're my sweetheart. I'm in love, with your heart. I love you, dear. Will you be mine?"

Soumya gets the rose from him and nodded to his proposal. She gets emotional ad hugged Rudra and says 'I love you' repeatedly. Rudra kissed her forehead.

Soumya comes out of her trance state as horn honks into her ears. She looks at Rudra standing in front of him who looked nervously at her turned back to see the Patrol Police.

The Patrol Police is shouting who has parked the bike at no-parking area. Rudra and Soumya run to the bike. Rudra claimed the bike to be his. The Patrol Police didn't allow him to take the bike but asked to pay him the penalty. Rudra argued that it'd be taken within 10 minutes, but the Patrol Police didn't heed.

Soumya - "Sorry sir. It is because of me. I was coming with him. On the way, I felt dizzy. That's why, out of nervousness he parked his bike and gone for buying mineral water."

The Patrol Police was convinced by her reply and asked her to take care and asked Rudra to move the bike soon. He leaves.

Rudra thanked Soumya, "Thank you so much, Soumya. I don't even have money to pay the penalty. You're a blessing to me."

Soumya blushed hearing his reply while got embarrassed for dreaming her favorite K-Drama proposal in her life.

Soumya punched his shoulder lightly, "Why didn't you inform me that you returned home yesterday morning?"

Rudra replies her, "I am sorry, buddy. I am meeting you only after my return from Manali. I am yet to meet others. My phone has no charge and also..."

Soumya - "How much do you need?"

Rudra replies 10K.

Soumya takes power bank from her bag and gives it to him. She took him to the ATM and gave him Rs.12000/-

Rudra hugged Soumya.

Soumya - "Rudra, when will you complete all your arrears? Uncle has already been upset on your academic performance. If he comes to know you're practicing for bike-racing, he'll kill you."

Rudra - "Soumya, don't worry. I'll do something soon. Please don't let anyone know that I have gone Manali for bike-racing competition."

Soumya - "Is it needed to tell me? Chill, Rudy."

Rudra and Soumya shared a hi-fi.

Soumya - "Rudra, I've got a job opportunity as the Academic Researcher at Archeological Department."

Rudra - "Wow, Soumya... Its amazing yaar... Wait."

Saying this, he entered the bakery and bought a cup-cake and fed Soumya. Soumya got happy on his gesture.

Rudra - "Okay. Today, there is a race at the known place. You must come there and see my talent."

Soumya - "Sure, All the best."

Soumya leaves while Rudra kissed the money notes given by Soumya and goes enthusiastic in his bike at full speed.

Park,

Rohan is jogging in the park with earphones. He is thinking about today's race at the Ground which is important as the politicians of the city are also witnessing it. If he could win the race, the politicians could lend him some sponsorships and offers.

Occupied by the thoughts, Rohan hits a girl and comes to consciousness and apologized her. Then, he recognized who it is... The girl laughs at him while Rohan is embarrassed.

Rohan - "Romi..."

Romi smiles.

Romi - "Yes. But, are you in your senses? You don't even know me."

Rohan also smiles.

Romi - "What's up? I thought you must be training in the ground. But you're here."

Rohan - "Coach has asked us to come to the ground by 10pm. So I thought of doing some jogging here."

Romi - "That's good. Let us run.."

Romi and Rohan starts running. Romi overtakes Rohan fast but stops soon as she gets tired. 

Romi - "Let us stop here. I can't run anymore."

Rohan laughs. Romi asks, "Why are you laughing?"

Rohan - "Nothing... Why are you here?

Romi - "I came here to wish you luck for the competition. I came to know from the watchman that you are here. I know you're concerned about what. You'll be winning the race for sure."

Rohan - "Thankyou Romi. My well-wishers' prayers keeps me going."

Romi - "Be confident. I'll meet you at the race. I'm leaving."

Rohan - "Wait, Romi. Let me drop you at the college."

Romi - "I'll manage."

She smiled.

Rohan - "Come on, you already exhausted some energy by running too fast. Have some juice and I'll drop you."

Romi nodded. 

Rohan buys a juice for Romi and she starts drinking.

Romi - "We have some great vibe, Rohan. That's why, we get along soon and easily. Remember the day when we met each other at Sports Meet and by one  and half month, we are friends."

Rohan - "But still you didn't learn the difference between jogging and running."

Romi - "Shut up... So you laughed due to that only."

Rohan nodded with a sheepish smile. Rohan and Romi burst into laughter. 

Rohan dropped Romi in her college.

Rohan - "Even my brother studies at the same college..."

Romi wonders, "Wow! Who is he?"

Before Rohan could answer, his phone beeps. Rohan attends the call, speaks to him and cuts the call.

Rohan - "I have to leave now, Romi. Have a nice day. Come to the Stadium by 5PM."

Romi and Rohan bade each other.

Rudra comes to the jewelry shop where his friends Angad and Pramod are waiting. Rudra shows a thumbs-up to them. Angad and Pramod get happy and entered the jewelry shop. 

Rudra selects a beautiful diamond ring. With the money he borrowed from his brother Rohan and his friend Soumya, he bought the ring.

Angad, Pramod and Rudra come to the college.

Rudra - "Today, I'll propose my sweetheart. 3 years of my one-side love gets double-sided in this ring."

Angad and Pramod - "All the best, bro."

They leave. Rudra moves towards the college cafeteria and finds Romi sitting there drinking coffee.

Upon seeing Rudra, Romi hugged him.

Romi - "I missed you, Rudy. Thank god, you're back."

Rudra - "Anything for you."

Romi - "How is your site trip?"

Rudra - "Yes, it was all good. I've met many rich businessmen at Rajasthan. Everyone is really good at their own job. Got many advices and tips how to be an entrepreneur in a smart way."

Romi - "I am happy for you, Rudra. Despite having a rich industrialist as your father, you are working on yourself to be independent. I am happy for you."

Rudra - "Even I happy to have you as my friend."

Romi smiled.

Rudra thinks, "Sorry Romi for lying that I'm a son of a rich industrialist. I am not as rich as you. I won't let class become a barrier for me to reach you. I am sure that you'll forgive for the fact that I could do anything for you."

Rudra - "I need to say something important."

Romi nods her head approvingly. Rudra took her to the library.

Rudra - "Do you remember this place?"

Romi - "Yes, this is the place where we met first, a year before."

Rudra thinks, "For you, it is the first time. But for me, it is the first millennium."

He remembered how he approached her for friendship after admiring her from a distance for 2 years.

Rudra smiled.

Rudra takes the ring box from his pocket, opened it and kneeled in front of her. Romi got surprised and opened her mouth in awe. 

Rudra - "Will you be my soulmate forever, sweetheart?"

Romi don't know what to say.

Romi - "Rudra, I know you are ideal man... good-looking, fit, rich and smart... But I have been seeing you only as a friend. I don't know if it works or not."

Rudra gets up and holds her hand.

Rudra says Romi, "All the beautiful relationships starts from friendship only, Romi. Friendship is the base of love. Friendship helps you identify yourself and shows your love."

Romi - "Yes, Rudra. That's true. But I am not sure about my feelings. Its true that I am attracted to you. But not sure if it was love..."

Rudra places Romi's hands in his heart and looks into her eyes for sometime. Romi couldn't remove her eye contact from Rudra.

Rudra - "My heart beats for you and your eyes longs for me."

Romi remains silent.

Rudra - "Take your own time and waiting for your response."

Romi - "Rudra, I feel that it is love... I love you for being yourself. I loved that aspect from you. So its a yes."

Rudra feels guilty... Romi kissed his hands.

Rudra gets happy and carries her twirls around. Romi also gets happy. Rudra give the ring to Romi.

Romi - "Keep it with you. You'll make me wear at your engagement. That makes the moment special." 

Romi's phone rings. She excuses herself.

Rudra feels disappointed on her reply as he is expecting to recreate some moments in his life. He is also guilty on lying to Rohan and Soumya.

Precap:
 Rudra comes in front of his house. Through the window of his house, he sees Romi talking to Rudra's father Tej. They are cracking jokes and laughing. Rudra gets shocked.
