Shiva Pandya packed his bag and departed his room after locking it properly. He entered and lift and pressed the button to reach the ground floor. Returning the keys to the reception , he went out to find a cab.

"When is your flight?" Beeped Krish's message on his phone.

"In an hour." He replied to his brother and put his phone on silent.

He had not visited his home for almost 6 months now, actually since Dev and Raavi's marriage. He always pretended he was busy but it was evident to Krish that he was avoiding home. After all, he wasthe only one who was the witness of the golden days he spent with Raavi. He had tried to protest Dev and Raavi's alliance but Shiva convinced him not to.

Shiva had not even waited for Dev and Raavi to get married. He left to Mumbai with an excuse of a business meeting out of the town one day before their engagement. Till then, he has not turned towards his home, not even once. The fact that Raavi was now his brother's wife, was killing him from inside.

He thought he was strong but as Dev and Raavi's marriage date neared, he realised that he was not. He was not strong enough to see his love becoming someone else's, and moreover, of his own elder brother. The only way he could find to fight his feelings was to stay away from them as much as possible. So he left Somnath and would somehow arrange business trips every month to different places and if there was no work, he would lie to his bhabhi of sudden event and stay in another city.

In this time period of six months, he had never spoken to Raavi or hear about her whereabouts. He didn't want his feelings to take over, neither he wanted to make it awkward for her.He also didn't congratulate Dev for his marriage and was quite surprised why he didn't he asked about it. Soon, Shiva decided to ignore it.

But he had realized in this time span that Krish was the only one who asked Shiva to come back as soon as possible. No one else did, not Gaumbi, neither Dhara Bhabhi. Not even Dev. His mother and Dhara would call him every day and ask, but would not argue even a bit if he says he can't come. He was somehow glad because he would never want to hurt them.

But in the coming week, he didn't had a choice. He would have to go home because he has an important meeting in Somnath itself. He knew he had to face it someday but he wasn't sure that he was ready yet - ready to face her, ready to face Raavi. He boarded the flight and waited to land in his hometown.

Shiva entered his house and his heart started beating faster. He realized that the fact that she was near him, affected him. It was difficult for him to not think about her when they were far but it would be next to impossible for him to control his feelings when they will be living under the same roof.

"Shiva!" His mother hugged him as soon as she saw him.

He was greeted by everyone, Gaumbi, Dhara Bhabhi, Dev, Krish. But his eyes searched for only her. He wasn’t sure what would he say to her when he would see her, but still his heart craved fora single glimpse of her. His family looked happy but something was there, that was bothering them. It was evident in their eyes.

"Is everything fine?" Shiva asked.

"Yeah... yes!"Replied Dev. "All okay."

But it didn't convince him.He looked towards his mother, then Dhara. They both gave him awkward smiles. Then his gaze turned towards Krish. He had a hope in his eyes but Shiva realized that his mouth has been shut up by the family. He looked at his family again. They exchanged glances. He was now sure that they were concealing something.

"Okay, that's enough," Shiva stated. "Now just tell me what has happened and where is Raavi?"

He finally asked only to see his family getting uncomfortable. He realized that something was really wrong.

"Will anyone say something?" He was angry now. "Krish, speak up!"

"Bhai," Krish started only to be stopped by Dhara.

"Krish!" She exclaimed.

"That's enough, Bhabhi."He said. "It's high time we tell him the truth."

"What truth?" Shiva asked.

"Dev and Raavi aren't married, Shiva." Krish sighed.

 ****************

Shiva walked on the street recklessly. He wanted to reach Raavi as soon as possible. Krish's confession that Dev and Raavi aren't married had shaken him from inside. He needed answers. He owes her with those. He stopped in front of her house and knocked on the door after letting out a shaky breath.

"Shiva!?!" Raavi sighed as she opened the door.

Her eyes met his, and they welled up. Seeing each other after one year glimpsed out the past memories. The pleasant waits, those yearning eyes, and their thirsty sights, some unfinished talks, those promises to meet again, those kisses, those hungry arms.

"Why did you do that?" Shiva asked somehow.

"Did what?" Raavi asked in a weak tone.

"Why didn't you get married?" He asked as he came inside the house.

"Then what would have I done?" She replied as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I couldn't marry him. I just couldn't. You left me alone when I needed you the most. But I realized that I was being unfair. What was I doing? I was betraying my love for you and insulting my friendship with Dev by marring him. I was forcing both of us in a loveless life. I wasn't as strong as you, Shiva Pandya. I just couldn't do that."

And she cried her heart out.She was suppressing her emotions and it vented out in front of him. Shiva held her shoulders and then wiped her tears. His love for her has grown deeper, he realized it the moment he touched her. Raavi couldn't control herself and hugged him tightly.

"I told him that I can't marry him because I love someone else." She said and Shiva broke the hug and looked at him. "Don't worry. I didn't take your name. I said I am waiting for him."

"Why didn't you speak tome then? Neither my family told me." He asked.

"I told them not to," Raavi replied wiping her tears. "I didn't want you to feel bad and angry with me for not marrying your brother. And moreover, you took promise that I shouldn't try to contact you. So I didn't."

Shiva shook his head on her.He couldn't understand why does she love him so much. But he understood, what was the right thing to do right now.

"In that case, My Chipkali; Will you marry me?" He said as he cupped her cheeks.

"Shiva?"

"Will you marry me, Raavi?"He repeated.

"Yes!" She squirmed and jump into his welcoming arms.

 ******************

“You were always supposed to be Mrs. Pandya.” Krish said to Raavi as she and Shiva sat on the podium in their reception party.

Raavi smiled at him and Shiva couldn’t help admiring her.

“What’shappening?” Dev walked in and he saw his brothers and sister in law smiling at eachother.

“Nothing special, “ Shiva replied. “Where were you?”

“Nothing special, again.” Dev sighed looking around the guest for another time. “I think you married the last beautiful girl available in Somnath. I have you import a bride from foreign.”

Everyone laughed at his words while Raavi shook her head on them with a smile.

Shiva looked at Dev. He couldn't hurt him but he also couldn't live without Raavi. He decided to talk to Dev and he knew his brother would understand his love for both of them. All he knew was he loved Raavi and she loved him. They had a future, a happy and prosperous life, together.

Realising his gaze on him, Dev looked at Shiva. Smiling brightly at him, he hugged his brother and smiled at Raavi. He and Raavi must have had a broken alliance but he never had had any romantic feelings for her. She was his best friend and Dhara Bhabhi thought they were in love. And his gadhera brother Shiva went on a sacrificing mission. He was glad that Raavi didn’t go in his path. She didn’t compromise her love for Shiva. He was happy for them.

Dev was lamenting in his thoughts when he saw a girl trying to climb the podium when her heels tripped. She closed her eyes, expecting to kiss the floor and embarrassing herself in front of thousands of guests. But before she could fall, Dev rushed towards her and caughther in his arms.

She opened her eyes and smiled at him realising that he was her saviour.

“Thank you so much!” She said and Dev's heart started beating faster.

“Rishita!”Raavi chirped in happiness and Rishita left Dev and rushed towards her.

Dev was lost in her as she congratulated Shiva and Raavi until Raavi called him.

“Dev! She is Rishita. My best friend.” Raavi introduced. “She has recently returned from Canada after completing her studies.”

“Hello.” Rishita smiled at him.

“Hello.” Dev smiled back.

“Seems like his foreign bride has arrived.” Krish whispered in Shiva's ears and both of them giggled.

“Come on, Dev. Let’s take a photo together, with Rishita.” Shiva said and all of them posed for a photograph.

While Shiva and Raavi looked at each other happily, Dev and Rishita stole glances throughout the party.

You may have plans for life, but life sometimes has it’s own plans. You fall in love with someone you never expected to, and sooner or later, you’ll surely meet the one you are destined to.
