INTOXICATED WITH LOVE

The famous night club of the city, Make aToast, was rushed, everyone was enjoying around as if it was the night to celebrate, but for her, it was a usual shift. Being a punctual employee, alike after every shift, she was wrapping her stuff to leave the club at 1.a.m.

 "Bye Kushi!", her co-worker bid a goodbye.

"Bye! But it's Khushi, Jack", she corrected him and he left apologizing.

Khushi Gupta, the girl of 19 who was doing a part time bartender job was living a simple life, all alone, which has isolated her from the world. Her life was demanding, a soulful relationships for her all life, with which she was oblivious. However, she didn't have an idea, when she became isolated, by her own self.

She exchanged a smile with her colleague who has just left when she heard a thud on the counter, "A mug of beer", enough to startled her.

She took two steps backward in order to be saved from the coming fear and realized a guy in a black jacket, a tee and a pair of rug jeans settled proudly on the counter seat and was asking her to the serve the bear to him. His attire was enough to define that he is a spoil spoon-feeded breed of a billionaire.

But Khushi being herself didn't care about hisrichness and denied formally, "Sorry sir! The time to serve alcohol is over, givehim a fake formal smile.

He was already in a very bad mood when she said noto him, which he didn't like at all. He lifted his eyes up and scannedthe girl standing in front of him in a red blouse, a short black skirt and blackbow. Her long hairs were tied in a side loose knot. But her worth-watching sidewas her shining star like brown orbs, which were enough to drain her angst out.He couldn't take his eyes off from them, but to take him back from his trance ahand clasped on his face, "Excuse me Sir!

It was she, cocking her brow up and he justcleared his throat and tested her honesty, "Then why you're here, Ms.Bartender, and grinned.

"I'm just collecting my stuff and leaving, sheagain smiled fake. He caught her fake smile and assumed that there wassomething painful like her eyes in smile.

He jumped on the seat and ask, "At least canI've a glass of water, Ma'am?, he emphasized the designation at which shegrinned and offer the glass, "For you Sir! Water, she emphasized the wordwater in return.

"Ahan! Do you've any idea who the hell I'm, hecocked his brow with a grin this time.

"No sorry! I only know the rules of my job, shesternly replied.

He was impressed with her behavior, because hewas in dilemma that whether she doesn't know him or just pretending. He wantedto give a benefit of doubt to the second one because in this whole city, whodoesn't know him and for the first time he wanted to meet that person. The onlyson of the single billionaire mother, indirectly the owner of the club in whichshe was serving, Arnav Singh Raizada.

"Argh! I so want to leave now. It's too late butwho the hell is he, who isn't leaving so easily, she mumbled in her head.

She asked finally, "Anything else Sir?

"Yes. Do you know what, in other clubs I getanything easily, rum-whiskey-beer, anything at anytime, gave her a fake smileand leaned on the counter, "And do you know how and why?, at which she noddednegatively.

"Hmm! There are some gifts through which I getdrink at anytime, he said with wink, showing his wallet.

She was so particular about her principles soshe snapped back, "I don't like gifts Sir, emphasizing the word Sir, in whichshe has no respect for him.

And him who was interestingly tested the honestyof the girl standing in front of him, in which she passed with full marks, hepressed his lips who slipped out, "Impressive lady!, he showed a thumbs upsign to her and left the club at same moment with a smile, leaving her confused.

A week later, Arnavwas hanging out with his friends in the college cafe, as it was the first dayof final year and probably some new students would have been entering.

Lavanya excitedly said, "Hey guys, final year somuch of excitement, new class, new students and...

"New girls!!, Nikhil excited.

"Shut up! You boys are always behind girls.Discuss something else, La you say, Ria interrupted hitting her boyfriend,Nikhil's head.

All of them giggled looking at him, when Lavanyachanged the topic, "Well! Last night I went ASR's night club, the music isfab, she said as if she has visited a palace.

"Thanks Lavanya, Arnav smiled when thediscussion of his club took him to his last week's visit which almost creep hislips into a broad smile.

"Hey ASR, you're smiling what's so good today, Riyaasked.

"Nothing just- just new day of the college, hepressed his temples in order to change the topic when Nikhil dotted, "Wait maybe the girls, who are coming today

"Yes, he agreed to change the topic.

Lavanya made a pouted face and Ria chuckled,"Well La! Your chance has gone

"He can only impress me, not someone else. Tiethe knot. Huh!, Lavanya blabbered in a bad mood.

"Oh! What you're thinking I'm Arnav SinghRaizada. Girls run behind me. You, tie the knot, Arnav retorted back pullinghis collar up.

Akash at the same time entered the spot andsaid, "Well Lavanya has point.

Akash chuckled, "Yes, There might be someone whocan say NO to Arnav Singh Raizada as well, the word NO took Arnav, a week backwhen a bartender said no to him, just for a beer, in his own club.

But he tried to make his mind fool and mumbledin his head, "only she's those guts. I wouldn't find another

He immediately snapped his hand in Akash's hand,"Bet

"Ok then, the first girl coming from the maindoor, you've to give her this, Lavanya snatched the red rose plucked in thevase and handed over to Arnav and continued, "And

Nikhil and Ria asked in chorus, "And...

"And propose her, Akash completed.

"What a foolish old school drama? My name isenough, Arnav jerked Lavanya's hand, when Akash asked with smirk, "Scared?

"I'm Arnav Singh Raizada, I don't get scared,he said this looking into Akash's eyes, "Then you've to try this old schooldrama, everyone said in chorus.

Arnav rolled his eyes and walked off in attitude,as if it was the deed of his left hand. He reached the main door, found a girlcoming in sunny yellow top and a pair of white pants who was walking backward,as if she was talking with someone, while shrugging her shoulders, she turnedback and collided with a hard body and rolled over.

Arnav's eyes fell on her who didn't even noticehim and dusting off her hands and cloths apologized, "I'm so sorry, I didn'tsee ", but cut her words in between when lifted her eyes and noticed him.

He was constantly staring her and the pair of innocentbrown orbs, but her mouth was opened in a perfect O' shape dropping on thefloor, "Oh gosh! You?

"Yes me, he innocently replied.

She waved her hand on his face and frowned, "Heyare you fine? Did it hurt?, she concerned.

"Very much!, it slipped from his mouth.

"Excuse me!, she asked when it sound weird toher.

All his friends who were with him, mumbled nearhis ear, "Have you forgotten about that bet or are you literally fell for her,and chuckled.

Arnav get into the trances back and composedhimself and took a deep sigh, "No. everything is fine, I was just thinking something.You know first day, he excused.

"Oh ok, she understood.

"You two are talking as if you know each othervery well, Lavanya interrupted, clenching her jaw looking at Arnav.

Khushi wasn't at all in a mood to unwrap thereality of her job, so she immediately took the command, "No. not at all.Actually we just collided so I asked him, sheepishly smile.

Arnav was amazed when Khushi hid the reality oftheir first meet, he was in dilemma, is she hiding their first meet or thereality of her job but now his whole gang was eating his brain up in thecontext of that bet for which he could easily pay but he don't like to getdefeated so he calmed himself and focused on his current target.

The rose which he has fetched from cafe has beenruined so Ria secretly passed him an another which he offered to her anddecently tried to propose, "Hey for you!

"For what?, she cocked her brow up.

"You're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.So the rose for a rose, he threw a cheesy line on her instead of knowing thatanyhow he is going to get defeated but he wanted to try.

She smiled fake and fetch the rose from hishand, "Thank you, but irked, "Ah! Your rose hurts me, and I don't keep thosethings which hurts

She immediately threw the fresh rose on the mud whileleaving the spot completed her sentence, "Like love. It hurts a lot

She turned, "and I seriously don't know whoyou're and I don't even care, she confidently said, "Have a nice day Mr.whatever, she emphasized Mr. whatever and asked the girl coming behind her.

"If you've done shall we go Payal?, the girlwith her skimmed out and I was stunned, but the damage was huge, they didn't evenhave planned this much.

Akash the calmed and composed one took thecommand, "Yes. She is Payal's roommate and---

He balled his fisted and punched on the nearbywall, "And it was your entire plan with her

"No. ASR, Lavanya said.

"No. she wasn't involved in all this we justthought that she will just say no to you but it changed into something else,Ria explained.

"Trust me, even Payal had no idea about it,Akash held his hand in his, but Arnav jolted it, and was about to leave whenAkash said from behind, "Don't you trust me, your best friend, Arnie!

Arnav looked back when Akash called him withthis name; he still remembers how irritated he used to be whenever in childhoodAkash used to call him Arnie. He ran and tightly hugged his bestie.

Khushi was searching for a desk to get seatedwhen her head collided with someone, "Aww!, she pained.

"Sorry!, she apologized and looked at theperson.

"Again, both Khushi and Arnav shocked andblasted into laughter.

It was a duo seat so both get seated on it andArnav apologized for what and how it has happened in the morning.

"I'm sorry for all that

"It's fine uh--, she stuck as in she stilldidn't know his name.

"Arnav

"Hey Arnav! Khushi, they shook hands and sharedsmile.

"Friends?, he dared to ask.

After taking few seconds she too forwarded herhand, "Friends

A month later, everythinghas become normal between them and it was Khushi's duty hour in club. He wantedto see her, he was missing her so badly but incognizant.

"Can I've a mug of beer, she easily recognizethe voice from her back.

"Yes please, Khushi smiled and served.

He'd drink but when again he asked for a largeone Khushi said formally, "Sorry Sir! Your quantity to have alcohol in thisclub has been over. So as my duty time, she smiled but this time a bitinformally.

This brightens his smile and the intoxicationwhich her eyes had was enough for him, "Do you know who I'm, he winked.

She nodded her head negatively, "No. but I'm alittle curious, she too winked.

He chuckled and leaned on the table and shefollowed, "Arnav Singh Raizada, he whispered at which she made Oh-that's-sonew face, "But what do you do sir?

He coughed, "I'm.., he cut his own words.

"Yes, you're

He completed, "I'm just the owner of this clubMa'am, he winked and opened the loose knot of her hair which swirled like waveof water.

She checked was anyone noticing them but shefound none, "But sir! The owner's name is Janvi Raizada, and giggled but whenshe was about to take exit something tuck her wrist from behind.

She checked and it was HIM. She eyed as ifasking what're you doing when he said, "May I drop you ma'am?

"No sir I can go by myself

"Don't be formal Khushi. Your duty hours ourover

She smiled at his gesture, "OK

"The new year's party's has a theme. Partnertheme and I don't have it, Arnav pouted helplessly.

"Ops! ASR has no partner? Shocking!, sheteased.

He gave her I-will-eat-you-up look, "Yup make myfun. But don't come as my partner, he too taunted.

She took a sigh, "I don't mind helping you but Idon't like parties, especially--

"Partner theme parties, he completed at whichshe nodded.

Finally it was New Year's night and Arnavhas found his partner but he was feeling the absence of Khushi. In the partnerswitching dance, he didn't find her anywhere behind every mask he wanted tosearch her. But she was not present.

Her innocent eyes and smile were not here. Hewas surrounded with friend and other people in the night club but she, she wasserving to others not there with him. He felt that his own self was withsomeone else, but when he reached the bar, she wasn't there as well and came toknow that she was at her hostel.

Without even thinking for a second he fetched arum bottle and drove off towards her hostel and shouted out loud, "KhushiKhushi!

When Khushi noticed it was Arnav she randownstairs gaspingly.

He showed the rum, "See I'm having after 1.a.m, tonight,he was so intoxicated that it was so hard to understand him.

"And today you can't even stop me, he laughed.

"What is your scene hmm? You don't serve after1, you hate love, you don't like parties and on the top of that you don't knowme. Me?, he quizzically asked.

Khushi collected him when he was falling,"you're not well you should go home

"Jhansi ki rani chup!, he pointed finger.

He rubbed his eyes, "Do you know you're the bestmedicine, and smiled.

"You're not in senses, she whispered.

"Yes. After all I'm intoxicated with love, heblushed which left Khushi speechless and she took step backwards. She justwanted to hear him first.

He was lost in her and said coming closer, "youknow your eyes. They speak a lot.

"You know that cheesy line in hindi, Mujhe inkanasha hai, he clutched her by waist.

He blow the hair coming on her face whichshivered her, "You hate love right? 

"But trust me, love is loveable, it doesn'thurt. It gives you peace, smile and a reason to be alive, he cupped her facein his palms

.

"Just the way your eyes, your smile and yourlove gave me, he kissed her eyes when he noticed the tears in her eyes, it wasthe first time when someone has loved her so much and for it wasn't less than abeautiful dream and she didn't want it to get over.

She gulped down and whispered, "And if I say nothen?

"Then? Now I love to listen know, do you knowwhy because I always wanted to meet a girl who doesn't know me, he sheepishlylaughed.

"Stupid!!, she hit him and threw her armsaround his neck to embrace him and he responded it too and the crackers burstin the sky when they say together, "I love you, and hit their head with eachother's and every one present their applauded.
