Chapter 3: " Family Happiness over His Happiness"

24 hours earlier .

Sanskar Maheshwari became the head of his family when his uncle passed away , he had a family who needed him to stay strong . His aunt was filled with grief ,his cousin Laksh was never the one who was with out a smile yet he lost his smile for over a year until he met his fiancée Ragini . Then there was his sister who couldn't make it up to his wedding because she was far away from their home as she bid to move away from the memories of their uncle because it made her too sad .

His sister was currently studying in Germany and couldn't even make it to their wedding because her exams crossed with the wedding , Sanskar decide to postpone but Ragini family insisted on that day ,that his aunt and uttara changed his mind . Just like how they changed his mind to marry because of Laksh .

Sanskar had been thrilled when his cousin found someone and he fought to be with that person , it wasn't easy to get Durga Prasad to see that laksh would keep his daughter happy as they initially were against the match ,but laksh stood strong until they changed their mind and now he was thinking of losing her because of him .

When his aunt felt reluctant to move forward with Laksh marriage before him , he tried reasoning with her that he hadnt found the one but laksh did ,still it didn't seem to convince her .But he stood his ground and it seemed like he could have convinced her if not for that incident when he fainted in an meeting because he forgot to eat for over 24 hours .

He was away on a business trip, he wanted to finish all his abroad meetings so he can be around for laksh wedding and when a meeting ran long than he expected , he skipped dinner for sleep, followed by breakfast when he woke up late the next day, in hindsight he knew it was mistake but he hoped to the sign the contract soon and head back home until he fainted in the middle of the meeting, he could have salvaged the situation if the news didnt reach his aunt.

Sanskar wanted to blame his secretary who cant hide anything from his aunt but even he knew how one smile from his aunt would make everyone spill the secrets, it made her aunt worry about him as she decided marriage was the way because in her words " Sanskar would have someone to keep him from overworking". He could have ignored her worry and persuaded her to drop the subject but he knew why she was worried, her husband died because he over worked and left the world soon and he didnt want her to worry about him as well, so he said yes to the marriage.

He had hoped his consent would stop her from worrying but he forgot that his cousin would plan for a joint wedding , he had agreed to marry kavitha when her aunt suggested her name . She was his friend when they were kids and he had hoped that they would grew to love each other until she ran away on their wedding day .

" Laksh ,don't be an idiot . I am not heart broken . Don't break Ragini heart by being stupid " Sanskar spoke up towards his cousin who insisted that his marriage should be postponed as well .

" It all my fault ,I should have known when Vidhya hinted at kavitha being your friend way too often , I am ashamed I thought of her as a friend and suggested you to marry her daughter ,it all my fault " his aunt spoke up as silent tears fell on her cheeks that broke his heart . He didn't want her to be upset but he knew she was hurt by kavitha actions.

" Aunt ,it not your fault . Kavitha choose to marry someone she loves it better for both of us that she choose where her heart leads and please tell laksh he can't stop his marriage " Sanskar spoke up as he looked at his stubborn cousin .

" Sanskar is right laksh ,this isn't the way . We can't go back on our word " his aunt spoke up making him relax because laksh never went against his mother words but to his surprise laksh declined to hear them out as he walked to tell ragini the news .

      
       Sanskar felt like inadvertently it was his fault for agreeing to marry or even not finding a bride who loved him  and didn't want to  elope on that day of their wedding . He looked at his aunt slumped shoulders and worried about her as well ,but he knew this wasn't the time to let laksh lead by his heart ,it was one of the best qualities about him but not everyone would see behind laksh decision was his concern for him . 

                      Sanskar was about to go out after convincing his aunt that he would take care of the situation when laksh rushed back inside his room , and he was smiling which surprised both of them until he opened his mouth and spoke up leaving him surprised by his words .

                     " We both can marry today " Laksh words confused him and when he explained how ragini parents offered to find an alliance between him and their niece ,Sanskar almost laughed at the suggestion until he saw his aunt face and his smile faltered because it seemed like she was seriously considering it .

               " Aunt ,No .. " he spoke up once she turned to look at him with what he learned as her determined face ,when she looked like it no one in their family could say no to her .

            " I like her ,more than kavitha . The girl was kind towards everyone and I even thought for a moment she would have suited you better even though I felt guilty about it afterwards but now I think this is fate " her aunt spoke and he felt like drowning in guilt because she looked so happy and hopeful .

               And when laksh went to talk with them and ask about ragini cousin final decision ,Sanskar had been sure she would say No and was surprised when laksh returned back with the news that they said Yes ,he couldn't understand why she would agree to marry a stranger .

               " Aunt ,but I don't even know her ." he spoke up at least with kavitha ,he was hopeful that at least they knew each other but it terrified him the thought of marrying a total stranger .

                " Well do you think your parents knew each other before they were married and you do know how much they loved each other . It will work out Sanskar ,I knew it the moment laksh told me they said yes ,why would she say yes if it wasn't fate " her aunt answered back and he was at loss how to let her down .

                    He looked at his cousin who was willing to hurt his fiancée for him ,he looked at his aunt who seemed happy and believe it was fate . And even though he understood Kavita decision ,it hurt to be rejected and he didn't want to do the same to someone else who agreed to marry him .  So he said yes to marry a complete stranger to make his family happy, he didnt know if he took the right decision but when it comes to his family, Sanskar Maheswari hadnt been able to say No so far.

     Present Day 

                        Sanskar looked at his bride who seemed nervous after agreeing to break the news to her sister, he had never expected her to be Adharsh sister in law and he barely had time to come to terms with the news. Yes Adharsh had mentioned something about his wife cousin wedding falling on the same day , the day was auspicious enough that ragini family demanded for it ,so he thought it was a coincidence, Until now.

                    Meanawhile Adharsh stepped out the room where his wife was shifted and looked at both of them sitting awkwardly in prolonged silence, when his bride rushed inside to meet his sister , he was left with his best friend who was looking at him with a smile and he knew it must be a huge relief to know both his son and wife were healthy after the ordeal. 

             " Thank You Sanskar for being by my side, i feel terrible that i have missed your wedding now. Let go and greet your wife, i have yet to see her and only saw your engagement photos. " his best friend spoke up leaving him in a bit of trouble as he cant conjure up a wife that wasn't his sister in law .

             " It okay ,maybe some other time " Sanskar hedged from telling him as he promised Swara would be the one to tell them .

             " Okay maybe not now , I will visit your house soon to meet her . Where have you planned to go for honeymoon " his friend asked and he practically felt awkward as it was at that moment Swara stepped outside of the room ,he didn't want her to assume he was the one talking about the said topic . 

           " Not really planned anything now ,you do know the marriage was kind of planned in haste " Sanskar answered truthfully, he did plan to take kavitha for a honeymoon tomorrow ,but he had planned nothing for his new wife and haste was describing it lightly .

          " Yes ,when you called me to tell you are getting married in a month . I was shocked and pleasantly surprised for you ,Kavitha must be one amazing person who changed your mind . I had given hoped and believed you were married to your work " his friend kept speaking and Sanskar realized it was only increasing the awkwardness between Swara and him because all adharsh spoke were his assumption nowhere near the truth .

                " I didn't marry kavitha " he answered back because he couldn't continue to let adharsh speak of her in glowing terms right before his new bride . Which left adharsh in shock and Sanskar didn't know how to express everything and how much to withhold since he promised it would be Swara who would tell them . 

             " He married Me .." his wife spoke up , that shock was too much for adharsh who kept looking at the two of them as if it a dream awhile Sanskar eyes fixated on his wife as he wondered if she already took adharsh words to heart ,because no likes to hear glowing praise about their husband ex but he couldn't decipher her mind for now as she remained looking at her brother in law .
