The June day changed. At first, it was blazing heat, then all of a sudden it rained. Anjali knew it was meant to rain. She took out her blue umbrella and stood firm under the shade of the bus stop. To most people, she looked odd since everyone else was running away from the lashing rain. But Anjali didn't care. She never held herself back when she knew who she was and what she wanted. Since her childhood, she felt she was born in the wrong body. When she realized she was ready to right the wrong, she went ahead with the surgery to freely express the woman within her. Now that her body had transitioned, she felt more alive in body and soul much like this rainy day in June. Anjali took in the smell of the damp soil as cool wind greeted her hair.

The pitter-patter of the rain continued to draw patterns on an almost deserted road. A bus arrived, but it wasn't the one that Anjali was waiting for. A guy in a black tee deboarded the bus. He looked bewildered that it was raining heavily. He wondered how he was going to cross the road and reach his destination. Then he saw Anjali standing there and enjoying the rain in the company of her blue umbrella. Watching her transitioned self, enjoying nature's blessing, something had changed in him. He came and stood on the same side as her under the shade of the bus stop. At first, the rain lashed out harder in the askance of a question. Soon it got tired and stopped pouring from the sky.

When the rain stopped, they were standing under a shared umbrella. A beautiful rainbow peeked from the clouds celebrating.
