            Part - 3

Maan wanted Ahaana to join business and so he always asked her to come to KC in her holidays….

Geet wanted to get Ahaana married after graduation…

Maan wanted her to be independent… he didn’t want his daughter to be dependent on anyone even after she gets married into another family…

When Ahaana wanted to pursue further studies and Maan supported her against Geet’s wish…

Maan sent her to the best private business school in the country…

Ahaana finished her MBA with flying colors…

Geet has already picked up a few suitable matches for Ahaana…

Maan too felt that it’s time for her marriage…

Maneet started the boy hunt for their beloved daughter Ahaana…

Maan: Geet, Geeeeet

Geet comes back from her thoughts….

Geet: hum kahan jaa rahe hai?

Maan doesn’t know where he is going….

He has lost interest in everything…

Maan: tum bathao, tum kahan jaana chahthi ho?

Geet can’t take it anymore…

Geet: aap aaise hi kitne din apne app ko saza dethe rahoge

Maan stops the car and looks at Geet in shocked…

Maan thought Geet is still angry with him….

Geet gets down and starts walking along the adjacent fields…

Maan gets off and follows her…

It’s been more than a year that the two have come for an outing like this…

Geet comes closer to Maan and holds his hands….

Geet: when will you break your silence? This silence is killing you slowly from inside

Maan still keeps mum…

Geet: I’m scared of your silence Maan, mujhe dar hai ki kahin mein aap ko bhi na kho doon

Maan still keeps staring the fields not ready to talk … he doesn’t want to hurt Geet by sharing his pain …

He has maintained his silence to conceal his pain from Geet…

Geet was totally broken and confused all these days…

She at least pours out her emotions occassionally… but Maan has kept storing them which is not good…

Geet: aaj aap ko baat karna hi padega, mujhe patha hai ki mard ko bhi dard hotha hai, aap mujhse chupa nahi sakthe ho

Maan: what are you talking about Geet?

Geet: aap ko lagtha hai ki aapko aaise dekh ke mein kush reh sakthi hoon?

Maan: tumne mujhe maaf kardhiya?

Geet: for what?

Maan: for whatever I did, I hurt you badly Geet, I’m sorry for that

Geet ne apna sara gussa Maan par hi nikaaldhiya hai, woh kuch aur nahi kar sakthi thi…

Par usse dhere dhere Maan ka dard ka ehsaas hone laga hai…

Geet: aap ne koi galati nahi kiya hai Maan, bhool jao sabko

Geet turns around and hugs Maan tight…

Maan needed that very badly…

Maan hugs her back tight… he has a meltdown…

Maan: I love you Geet

Maan says it all of a sudden…

Maan’s too emotional today… Geet is happy that he is trying to vent out his pent up feelings…

he is not the one who keeps saying ILU…

Geet: I love you too Maan

Maan: do you think I did anything wrong?

Geet is worried that Maan is still not able to forget everything….

How can he forget?

Geet: nahi Maan, you can never be wrong

Maan: I don’t know Geet, I’m tired of fighting with myself

Maan can’t stop thinking about what he could have done to prevent the mishap….

Maan can’t still figure out where he went wrong as a father….

Geet: Maan, just forget everything, forget that we have a daughter

Maan: can you?

Geet becomes silent…. She doesn’t know if she could ever forgive her daughter….

Geet can never forget the humiliation that Maan faced …

Geet thinks about what happened…..

Ahaana rejected all the proposals and declared that she will only marry the boy of her choice, the one she met during a 15 day internship at the company where she did her project..

He is Karan, a junior engineer at that place, who helped Ahaana with her project…

Maan collected information about Karan …

His father is working in Malaysia and Karan is staying with his mother and younger sister…

Karan’s father and mother are not in talking terms but just surviving the relationship for their children…

Karan is an occasional drinker and is an average boy with dreams of marrying a beautiful girl and that’s the ultimate aim of his life…

Karan is not any criminal but he is not the perfect match for Ahaana…

Maan knew at the first impression itself that Karan is never going to live up to his daughter’s expectations…

But Ahaana was stubborn to marry Karan or not to marry at all…

Maan said that it is better for her to stay unmarried than marrying someone like Karan…

Geet tried to make Ahaana understand the difference between the life that she is in and the life is has chosen to live…

Nothing could change Ahaana’s mind…

One fine day she eloped with Karan and married him at a small temple…

Màan can’t believe that his little angel who would not do anything without her father could now make the blunder of her life without his knowledge…

Maan got furious and went to get his daughter back…

Maan traced Karan’s house and went straight inside to get his daughter back…

Karan tries to stop him but Maan pushes him away single handedly…

Karan falls down as he is nothing in front of our macho Maan….

Maan gets in and searches his daughter….

Maan sees Ahaana…

Maan goes and holds her arms…

Maan tries to take her with him…

Maan: chalo, ghar chalthe hai

Ahaana: yahi mera ghar hai

Maan: don’t be stupid, come with me now

Ahaana: I said I don’t want to come with you

Maan: just come home and we can talk about this later

Ahaana: there is nothing to talk and I’m happy with my decision

Maan: this is not everything, you have a very long life ahead

Ahaana: I know

Maan: you are making a huge mistake

Ahaana: let it be, but it’s my life and it’s my mistake

By then that Karan had called the police… .

Police officer: what’s wrong?

Maan: nothing officer, I just came to take my daughter

P.O.: is this your daughter?

Maan: yes

P.O.: is this your father?

Ahaana: yes

Karan: he is trying to take her away against her wish

P.O.: what is this sir? You look like a knowledgeable person

Maan: officer, she is a kid and doesn’t know what she is doing

Ahaana: I’m an adult and I married Karan with free will, no one compelled me, and I don’t want to go with my father, he is trying to threaten my husband

Ahaana complaints about Maan…

Maan died as a father that moment and he came back without even saying a word…

He has remained silent after that, he has not even shared that experience with Geet for he knows that Geet can’t bear all that…

After a few months Ahaana sent a legal notice claiming a share in the Khurana property…

Maan decides to see her in court…

Geet didn’t want either Maan or Ahaana being insulted and hurting each other…

Geet talks to Maan….

Geet: what are you doing? She is our daughter

Maan: so what? She chose her life on her own and now she wants my business

Geet: you told her that it’s her business from the beginning

Maan: that was when she was sane, now she has become insane, I can’t loose my company for her stupid love, it’s not just a property like she thinks, I built this entire empire with my sweat and blood of thirty years, I brought her up with all the comforts she could wish for, I gave her my everything for her for 24 years and she forgot all that in just 24 days, she destroyed my trust of 24 years and I can’t let her ruin KC, it’s not just about us Geet, there are more than a hundred families surviving on KC, you can’t betray them just b’coz she is our daughter, their lives are much more valuable than her blind love, she is not our daughter anymore, she doesn’t know the value of true love

Geet: don’t say like that, she is our daughter no matter what, we have to forgive her

Maan breaks down….

Maan: how can I forgive her Geet? She has not just left alone, she has taken the peace and happiness of this family with her, she has taken away my life from me, now I’m left with nothing to give you and Dhruv, I have given all my love to her only, does she even know the value of a father’s love? A father’s love for his daughter starts even before she is born and it stays till his last breath

Maan had an ugly legal encounter with his own daughter and he easily won the case…

Maan has earned everything on his own and he has every right over it…

Maan still gives a residential building with 6 apartments for her…

She can stay in one and enjoy the monthly rents of the rest for her entire life but can’t sell it … it belongs to her future children…

Maan fulfills his duty as a father but he can’t fulfill his duties as a husband…

He can’t buy his wife’s happiness with any money no matter how hard he tries… he can’t even get back his own happiness… that’s the huge amount that he has paid for his daughter’s most expensive desire, her love…

Geet rests her shoulder on Maan’s hand and they keep walking trying to find solace in each other’s company….

Don’t know when will the daughters and sons understand the value of their parents love…

But the fact is that you are always ready to welcome a girl into your family but you realise the pain of the girl’s family only when one of your girls go out of your family and marries a different kind of person…

Love is not just the one between two individuals, not just ishq wala love, there are more valuable kind if loves, the love between a father and his daughter, a mother and her son, a grandfather and his grandson and so on…

Every love is invaluable, when you put a value to one kind of love alone and say that it’s the most valuable then you are degrading it, that kind of love which you get by letting go off all the love of your family, specially your parents is not worth it, that’s is what I feel…

Even then the parents love never diminishes for they eventually learn to forgive, but let’s not forget that the damage done earlier is irreparable and stays with us forever…

Its like a broken mirror that has been put back together, every piece of the mirror only reflects the pain of every single person that loves you unconditionally…

As you grow into an individual you may not need their love that much, but their love for you only keeps growing with you…

I may sound old school but our generation still believes in relationships and knows the value of every relationship…

Maybe this generation of parents didn’t teach their children to value relationships..

You don’t sacrifice one love to get another… haina?

They rightly said that “love is blind”…

This was not a regular fiction of sorts, this was deliberately created to put out the point of views of a girl’s father specifically for they are the ones who suffer silently…

Mother’s love is not blind, it doesn’t have eyes at all… they somehow want to help the children lead a happy life…
