“Thank you!” Taani smiled warmly at everyone.

“Sabke praises sunn ke hogaye ho to mudde pe aaye?”

“Jealous?”

“You wish!” He rolled his eyes. “Aur waise tu bhool mat, iss promotion ke baad bhi mein tera senior hi hoon!”

“Yes Rahul sir! Yeh baat hum jaise juniors kabhi bhool nahi sakte!” Taani batted her eyelashes and rolled her eyes in the end.

“Aur agar galati se bhool bhi gaye, toh aap ho na hume roz yaad dilane ke liye! Right Taani?”

“Right Shilpa!” Taani agreed.

“Accha abhi tu party kahan de rahi hai?” Rahul asked.

“Kahin nahi! Bohot kaam hai mere paas. Aise faltu cheezon pe waste nahi karti main!” Taani rolled her eyes.

“Kya bore hai yaar tu!” Shilpa huffed.

“Iss baar teri ek nahi sunenge hum Taani. Hume party chahiye!” Rahul demanded.

“Haan!” Shilpa agreed with him.

“Are you serious guys? You know I don’t like all this.” Taani sighed and sat at her desk.

“You need a spark in your life.” Shilpa grinned.

“What I need to do is to attend this call right now.” Taani showed them her phone and walked away from her desk to answer the call.

“Congratulations on your promotion beta.” Rishi greeted her.

“Thank you Tauji!” Taani grinned. “Aapne itni jaldi mera message bhi padh liya?”

“Of course! Main kabhi late hua hoon tumhe call karne ke liye?” Rishi asked.

“Never!”

“Swayam ka call aaya tha?”

“Kahan? Bhai ne abhi tak message nahi padha hai.” Taani shook her head.

“Yeh Swayam bhi na.” Rishi sighed.

“Voh bhai apne academy mein busy honge. Free hoke jarur call karenge.”

“Theek hai abhi main rakhta hoon. Tumhe bhi kaam hoga. Aur celebrate bhi karne jana hoga.”

“Tauji please! Main aise hi theek hoon. Koi party nahi karni.” Taani wailed.

“Theek hai as you wish!”

“Accha toh main rakhti hoon. Bye!”

“Bye beta. Take care!”

“You too!” Taani disconnected the call and came back to her desk.

“Wow! That’s a first! I'm in!” Rahul exclaimed.

“Kya hua?” Taani asked.

“Dekh tune party ke liye mana kiya, we won’t force you. But you can’t say no to this!” Shilpa fanned herself holding a few cards.

“Yeh kya hai?” Taani asked.

“Passes!” Rahul grinned.

“Kis cheez ke?” Taani furrowed her brows.

“Office mein ek dance therapy session organize kiya hai. Jahan thoda dance hoga, thodi masti hogi. And most importantly there’ll be boys!” Shilpa grinned.

“Not interested!” Taani rolled her eyes and sat at her desk.

“Dude, dancer bande bohot hot hote hai!” Shilpa turned her chair towards her.

“I’m not denying that..” Taani smiled lightly, reminiscing a few memories.

“Great then! We are going! Maine already passes khareed liye hai and there is no refund!” Shilpa asserted.

“Sirf bande honge ya bandiya bhi hogi?” Rahul asked.

“Tharak control mein please!” Shilpa rolled her eyes at him.

“Tu bando ko taad sakti hai par main vo karu toh main tharki?” Rahul flared his nostrils.

“Voh bandiyon ko taadne ko tharki bol rahi hai.” Taani held back her laugh.

“Ha-ha, very funny!” Rahul rolled his eyes. “Kaam karo!”

“Sharon yeh kya hai?”

“Stop whining Rey! Tujhe kya problem hai?”

“It’s just so boring.” He huffed.

“Isme boring kya hai? Yeh ek naya experience hoga hum sab ke liye.” Swayam smiled.

“Teri experience ki toh main!” Rey sneered. “Main nahi aa raha hoon!”

“Oh come on! Yeh roz roz ke routine se bore nahi hote tum?” Swayam looked at him.

“I like it! Academy is doing great and I have you all here..”

“Par..” Sharon interrupted Rey.

“Oh God Sharon! Tum bore nahi hoti same cheez repeat karke?”

“Tum sunte nahi ho toh main kya karu?” Sharon pouted.

“Theek hai fine I’ll come! Just don’t start your cassette again!” Rey rolled his eyes.

“Oh don’t worry, aage ki cassette meri behen sambhal legi.” Sharon chuckled.

“I feel ki main tum dono ki beheno ko sambhalne ke liye hi baitha hoon!” Rey huffed. “Pehle teri thi.” He pointed at Swayam. “Aur abh teri!” He looked at Sharon.

“Matlab tum maante ho?” Sharon asked tongue-in-cheek.

“Sharon please stay away from her. Voh tujhe bhi apne jaisa pagal bana rahi hai.” Rey held Sharon.

“Shut up!” Sharon shrugged his hands off. “Main baaki team ko inform karne ja rahi hoon about the event.” She left.

“Tujhe isme itna kya accha lagta hai?” Rey looked at Swayam with a scrunched up face.

“Wahi jo tujhe humari beheno mein lagta hai.” Swayam smirked.

“You don’t start now!” Rey sneered.

“Accha sorry.” Swayam raised his hands in peace. “Waise Sara nahi par koi aur toh hogi na?” He asked.

“Tu kya meri setting lagane pe tula hua hai? I’m not interested!” Rey glared at him.

“Theek hai na. Tu bhadak kyu raha hai? I was generally asking.”

“Waise hum ja kaha rahe hai?” Rey asked, changing the topic.

“Bengaluru!”

“Ooh!”

“Tujhe pata hai..” Swayam stopped as he heard someone yell.

“Rey!” Sara yelled.

“Bulava aaya hai!”

“Mata ne bulaya hai.” Swayam laughed.

“Mata nahi, dadi maa! Jaldi nahi gaya toh bohot sunayegi!” Rey shook his head and left.

“Koi toh phone uthao! What the hell?” Rey huffed looking at his phone. “Yeh sab kahan chale gaye. Aur yeh event hai kahan pe?” He looked around and wondered.

“Sorry.” He bumped into a girl and they both apologized together.

“Tum kuch dhund rahe ho?” She asked him.

“Haan voh yahan dance..”

“You have a pass for it?”

“Pass?” He furrowed his brows.

“Haan attend karne ke liye tumhe pass lena hoga. Come I’ll show you where you can buy one.” She asked him to follow. “I’m Shilpa.” She introduced herself.

“Hi Shilpa. I don’t need a pass. I just need to know where it’s supposed to be held.”

“I agree ki good looking ho par bina pass ke entry nahi milegi!” She raised a brow.

“Thank you. But I’m here to conduct the event.” He smiled.

“Oh D3?”

“Yes!”

“Do you take private lessons?”

“Excuse me?” He asked surprised.

“What? Never been hit on before?” She smirked.

“No.” He shook his head and smiled.

“Sad!” She let out a chuckle. “The hall is down here. I’ll see you there.”

“Sure! Thanks!” He left with a smile.

“Oh ho ho smile toh dekho. Face kitna khila hua hai!” Swayam teased.

“Kaun thi?” Sharon asked.

“Kaun? Shilpa?”

“Oh Shilpa!” Sharon teased.

“Seriously?” Rey rolled his eyes and walked off.

“Iska kuch nahi ho sakta.” Sharon shook her head.

“You don’t worry. He’ll be fine.” Swayam smiled knowingly.

“Tum dono abhi tak yahin ho? Chalo!” Shilpa pulled Taani and Rahul along with her.

“Tum kyun itni excited ho?” Taani squinted at her.

“I met one of the guys right now. He is so good looking!” Shilpa grinned. “Shit!” She slapped her forehead.

“Kya hua?” Taani asked.

“I forgot to ask his name. Aur kaisa banda hai be voh? I introduced myself but usme itni decency nahi ki apna naam bole!” Shilpa huffed.

“Don’t worry mil jayega. Kahan bhaage ja raha hai voh?” Taani chuckled.

“Waise yeh log hai kahan se? Naam pehli baar sunn raha hoon. D3!” Rahul asked.

“D3?” Taani stopped walking.

“Mumbai se hai.” Shilpa answered. “Isse kua hua?” She looked at Taani.

“Hum yahan time waste kyun kar rahe hai? It must have started. Let's go!” Taani paced down the hallway.

“Yeh itni excited?” Rahul looked at Shilpa.

“Voh bhi dance ke liye?” Shilpa looked back at him.

“Guys?” Taani yelled from a distance.

“Coming!” They both walked to her.

“Hello everyone! Welcome to Dance Therapy by D3! Are you guys ready to groove?” Rey addressed the crowd.

“Yeah!” He heard their response.

“Then let’s get started!” Swayam grinned.

“The twelve of us are going to be spread throughout the hall. Follow us to the best of your capabilities. If you can’t, then feel free to groove to your own moves!” Sharon smiled.

“Exactly! Just enjoy yourselves and have fun!” Rey grinned.

“I sure will!” Taani mumbled and smiled to herself.

Rey stood a few feet away from Taani. The music started and they all started dancing. In the middle of a move, Rey’s eyes fell on Taani and he grinned wide seeing her look at him.

“Hi!” He mouthed.

“Hi!” She replied.

Rey shifted a little to his left so as to be closer to Taani. She smiled, shaking her head at his move. They danced for the next hour looking at each other. Rahul and Shilpa were surprised to see Taani enjoying so much.

“Thank you so much guys! You guys were amazing!” Sharon addressed everyone.

“Hey!” Rey walked up to Taani.

“Aap yahan?” Taani smiled.

“Interview dene aaya tha. Abhi just khatam hua.” He mocked.

“I hope accha gaya ho.” She replied, hiding her smile.

“Bohot accha gaya.” He replied looking at her.

“Hello mister! Kaafi accha dance kar lete ho tum.” Shilpa joined them.

“Thanks.. uh.. Shilpa.” Rey smiled at her.

“Kaafi accha?” Taani scoffed. “He has been a national dance champion!” She added.

“You guys know each other?” Shilpa furrowed her brows.

“Hum dono college mein date karte the.” Rey told her.

“Haan.” Taani smiled.

“Oh! Matlab mera patta cut?” Shilpa frowned.

“Yeah!” Rey nodded and laughed. Taani joined him.

“Rey! Tum yahan ho? Aur hum sab tumhe dhundh rahe hai!” Sara walked to him.

“Haan Sara, tum chalo main aa raha hoon.” Rey informed.

“Jaldi aana!” Sara left.

“Come.” Rey looked at Taani. “Sab tumhe dekh kar bohot khush honge.”

“Chalo.” Taani smiled at him. “Shilpa, Rahul, main tum dono se baad mein milti hoon.”

“Sure!” Shilpa smiled.

“Mujhe late ho raha hai. So I’ll leave. Kal milte hai.” Rahul hugged her.

“Theek hai. See you!” Taani smiled at him and he left.

“Boyfriend?” Rey asked as they started walking.

“Friend!” Taani replied.

“You can tell me the truth. Mujhe bura nahi lagega.” He teased her.

“Main sach hi bol rahi hoon.” She shook her head.

“Yeh nahi toh dusra kaun chomu hai?” He wiggled his brows.

“Mere paas inn faltu cheezon ke liye time nahi hai.” She replied with a smile.

“Iss baat pe I agree with you. This all is just a waste of time!”

“So who are you wasting your time with?” Taani asked with a lopsided smile.

“I choose not to waste it!”

“Toh voh kaun thi?”

“Kaun?”

“Jo abhi aapko bulane aayi thi?”

“Oh Sara..”

“Yeah her.”

“No Sara!” He exclaimed with horror. “Main akela hi theek hoon!”

“Aap akele kahan ho. Aapka pehla pyaar jo hai aapke saath.”

“Hmn?” He squinted.

“Dance!”

“Haan!” He smiled. “Pehla bhi aur aakhri bhi.”

“Taani?” Swayam ran to her.

“Bhai!” Taani hugged him. “Aap kaise ho? Aur aap yahan aa rahe the toh mujhe ek baar bata nahi sakte the? Main aapko receive karne aati na.” She complained.

“Bata deta toh surprise thodi rehta? Maine socha tujhe milke hi congratulate karu!” Swayam smiled at her. “But yeh Rey ne sara plan hi fail kar diya. Kya jarurat thi pehle milne ki?” He sneered at Rey.

“Congratulate?” Rey asked.

“Iska promotion hua hai.” Swayam informed.

“Congratulations!” Rey grinned at her.

“Congrats Taani.” Everyone followed suit.

“We should celebrate!” Sharon said.

“Sharon uski kya jarurat hai?” Taani replied.

“Waise tum abh officially usse bhabhi bula sakti ho.” Rey whispered to Taani.

“What?” Taani exclaimed.

“Thanks!” Swayam sneered at Rey. “Mera dusra surprise bhi batane ke liye.”

“Bhai yeh baat mujhe abh pata chal rahi hai? Aap aur Sharon bhabhi finally ek saath ho. I’m so happy for you!” Taani grinned at them.

“Ek second, bhabhi? Matlab yeh..?” Sara furrowed her brows.

“Matlab yeh tumhari saut!” Sharon chuckled.

Taani looked at Rey, Sara and then at Sharon and forced a smile on her face.

“Oh toh yeh hai voh! She is the reason why you won’t even consider giving someone else a chance!” Sara looked at Rey.

“Shut up Sara!” Rey glared at her.

“What? Am I lying?” She looked around.

“Excuse me!” Rey left from there.

“Bhai yeh..?” Taani looked at Swayam.

“Kuch nahi Taani. Yeh dono ka yeh normal hai.” Sharon smiled.

“Meri friend bahar mera wait kar rahi hai.” Taani turned to leave.

“Hum celebrate karne ja rahe the na?” Swayam stopped her.

“Main usse inform karke aati hoon that I’ll be with you guys.” Taani smiled at Swayam and left.

…

“Rey?” Taani saw him standing alone and walked up to him.

“Main vo bas..” Rey looked around trying to come up with an excuse.

“Aap theek toh hai na?” She asked.

“Haan! Mujhe kya hua hai?” He forced a smile on his face.

“Yeh jhoothi smile se kisi aur ko jaake fool karna.” She narrowed her eyes at him.

“Listen, I’m sorry for what Sara said. Voh kuch bhi bolti rehti hai.” He explained.

“Rey, aapne mujhe promise kiya tha that you will move on.” She looked at him.

“I did. I moved on with my dance, my first love. Abh meri life mein kisi aur ke liye jagah hi nahi hai.” He smiled.

“Par Rey..”

“Par kya Taani? Maine apna promise rakha hai.”

“Why aren’t you seeing anyone?”

“Who should I be seeing?”

“Abhi andar jo hua uss se laga ki Sara aapko pasand karti hai. Aapko usse ek chance dena chahiye.”

“Main yeh same sawaal tumse bhi kar sakta hoon. Tumhari life mein koi kyun nahi hai? Abh toh career bhi set hogaya hai tumhara.”

“Kyunki mere life mein pyaar ke liye jagah nahi hai.” She replied looking into his eyes.

“Aur meri life mein dance ke siva kisi aur cheez ke liye jagah nahi hai.” He stared back into her eyes.

Rey and Taani locked eyes with each other. They could see the faint longing for one another past the stone cold wall created by them. But no one wanted to acknowledge it.

“Rey, I can’t go back to that.” She whispered.

“Don’t worry I’m not going to pull you back into it.” He smiled.

“But..”

“But?”

“I don’t think I’ve smiled wholeheartedly since I came here before today. And it felt good. I don’t feel like giving it up.”

“Me neither. Main khush tha, par kahin na kahin kuch missing tha.”

“Kya?”

“Tum.”

“Toh chalo, iss void ko friendship se bharte hai.” She smiled at him.

“Haan aur kya pata, kahin phir se humare pyaar ka reunion hojaye.” He winked, making her laugh.

This was just a random one that popped in my head. And I decided to write it down!

If you are confused, then this happens a few years after the TaaRey break up in the show. Taani is working and Rey has started the D3 Academy.
