Chapter 5

Meera changed her dress and wore gown when she noticed the lights were doing on and off. She stopped her work in between and stepped forward when she realized what has happened in past. The same time Haider who was adjusting the lights for tomorrow’s function came and said, “Wo was just adjusting the lights”

She nodded her head and tears flew down her cheeks so as the memories were painting in front the canvass of his eyes.

She gulped down and wiped tears, when realized that he is noticing her and smiled fake, immediately marching from the spot, throwing herself on the bed.

“Why these memories are always behind me, why cannot they leave me alone with myself”, she broke in tears.

And the same time she heard, “Yaadein hi to hai jo kabhi tanha nahi chodti”, which made herturn back and found Haider’s soul with smile.

She ran towards it in tears and wrapped her arms to envelope him in her embrace, “Par kyu?”

“Kyuki….”,he couldn’t answer and a tear droplet fell from his eyes which he wiped,leaving her wrapped arms and left saying, “ I am leaving today, alone”

The word alone echoed in her ears aloud, when she asked in tears, “Kaha ja…”, but beforeshe could ask he has gone.

She remained broken into tears.

He has already packed his stuff and bidding a last goodbye to the friends, he was leaving, “Sorry yaar Avanti! Ye drama ab aur nahi hoga mujhse”

“Drama?Drama tum dono ne kiya hi kab?”, Avantika replied hitting his back with a lame smile.

He scrunched his brows, “Matlab?”

“Gadhe!”,Sid taunted and Vishal added, “Ghode!”

“Kya? What do you all want to say”, Haider asked curiously.

Rashi came forward and answered, “Come on yaar Haider! With time hum sab badalte hain tum aur Meera bhi badle”

“Yes! And jab seedhi sadhi Rashi can adapt fashion world then why the hell you both cannot fight”, Tanya put the logic forward.

“Talli wothi tu nahi jo use bahoon mein uthake itna possessively le gaya tha”, Sid winked.

Avanti smiled, “Aur who gaana”

“Tumhari harbaat use pata hai aur tumhe uski…”, Tanya said.

And they all blurted out in unison, “To ye pyaar nahi to kya drama hai Gadhe!”

“Matlab tum logo ko pata tha that me and Meera were….”, he tried to dot out.

“Are not together like previously that too from the day one”, they again shout in the chorus.

Avantika came forward to him gave  tight friendly hug, “Par kya hua sab ke relationships mein time ke sath up and downs aate hain, mere aur Sid ke relationship mein bhi aaye”

“To kya hua,it doesn’t make any difference yaar”, they said in chorus again.

He looked up to the sky when he noticed Meera who was standing lifelessly in the terrace. Here yes were puffy red and tears were all drenching her dress, as she has realized that she must not leave him, but she didn’t came down to stop him.

He wanted her to let come down but she wiped her tears pretending to be a bolder and strong woman, and took her eyes from him.

 Noticing this, he left for the airport finally and she cried and cried.

Avantika collected her soulless friend who was pretending to be bold in front of her friends and towards herself as well, as she thought that even Haider wanted this separation.

The same time the clouds started roaring and lightning was echoing from the black sky of the night. The sky was wholly black, and all the clouds open the doors of their womb, to sparkle the water on the dry roads, and finally after so much lightning they opened the taps wholly to welcome the rain which was kissing the mud of the ground.

Haider wa swaiting on the signal when he heard the news, “The flight no. A 67 from Mumbai to New York has cancelled due to the climate conditions”

“Sh*t! what the f**k is going on here”, he banged his fist on the glass.

The cabdriver asked, “Ab kya karna hai sir?”

“Mera sar phodna  hai”, he answered curtly, as in all the comeback story of HaRa was painting infront of his eyes.

“Take the cab back to the pickup destination”, he massaged his brows and the cab driver  too followed his instructions.

Haider reached to the farmhouse when he heard from the back, “Mr.Chironji”,which felt him unexpected and he turned back.

“Oops! Mr.Chorasiya?”, Meera who skimmed out in front of eyes said.

“Ya mere Mr.Shayar job hi hai aap…”, she took a deep breath and when he was trying to say anything she shut her lips with her finger and shushed him.

“Shh!! Aaj mainbolungi poora ka poora”, she ordered.

“Kyat ha ye,na mile na baat ki bas chale gaye”, she gulped the fresh saliva down, “dekho mujhe na jyada ghuma fira kar tumhari tarah shayari to nahi aati bas ek baat bachpan se pata hai”, a tear fell down from her eyes.

She pressed her lips, “married life pyaar se banti hai par kabhi kabhi pyaar dikhta hi nahi hai jaise mere mom dad”, she started fantasizing their relationship, “bachpan mein I used to thought that they don’t love each other par sach ye tha that –that they love each other the most”, tears fell down from her eyes and he tried to wipe them from his thumb pad.

“Aur unhe bhi ye baat tab pata chali jab wo chale gaye”, she pressed her lips again to let her emotions took out from her.

“Main apni life mein koi regret nahi rakhna chahti maine jisse pyaar kiya hai humesha uske sath rehna---“, she said in a single breath and then stopped when he shushed her, “Shhh! Bahut bolti ho yaar”

He licked his lips wrapped her arms around his torso and continued, “maine life mein do logo se sabse jyada pyaar kiya, ek Raza jo mujhe bulate bulate chala gaya, aur dusri ko main rokte rokte  nahi jane dunga”

She giggled a little and said, “How cheesy?”, and tightly wrapped him around and he picked her up in his arms in the heavy rain and they then shared a lovable kiss at which everyone hooted and cheered.
