Chapter 5

"So, Mr. Jack, are you happy with your sister's demise?", Khushi asked Jack, Sheetal's step brother.

Jack corrected her, "step sister"

"Oh yes. Step sister", she arched her brow up.

Jack smiled, "well I'm"

"That's the reason you didn't come to investigate about her murder report?", She asked looking into his eyes.

He replied, "Yes. Because don't care about her."

"May be that's why you killed her?", She straight forwarded hit the question.

He laughed, "what is the reason for me to kill her?"

"Your hatred. Your late father's will?", She hit the stone in the dark at which he laughed again, "my father's will is on Sheetal's name, I was no where in his life"

She arched her brows, "so your revenge is this hard?"

"I hate her, but not to waste my life over her corpse", he clenched his jaw.

She took a deep sigh, "and who will believe you?"

"May be no one, but for me she is nothing, doesn't matter", he replied and asked, "can I go now my exams are going on"

She took a deep breath, "according to you, who can kill her?"

"Sheetal was the person of her own choice, dad's apple of eye, islie sab us ke naam kar diya. I don't know much about her", said he.

He took permission, "now should I?"

Khushi nodded her head, "last question, where were you, on the day of murder?"

"Well to be frank, my girlfriend Kate, she wanted me to meet her family so, we were there,I mean Pune", he replied.

Khushi rolled her eyes played with her marker and wrote on the board, "Kate."

She thought for a second and ordered, "write the details about Kate here, wanna confirm", and took a deep breathe, while giving a paper and pen in his direction.

He wrote the details, and took the permission again, "can I go now?"

She looked at his every posture keenly, "yes! But not out of the station and submit your passport."

"Fine", he submitted his passport and left.

Shirke asked after Jack's departure, "what do you think, I mean why we are leaving him?"

"Yes, he might be guilty", Asha stated.

Khushi smiled and attached all the photos of people related to the murder night.

"Sheetal, the victim", in the middle of the notice board she planted.

"Raizada, the accused", in the right she planted.

"Jack, the step brother of victim", in the left.

"Mr. Dubey, the neighbour", on the upper side.

"Kate, girlfriend of step brother", with a question mark, on the lower side.

Khushi opened her cigarette case and extract one of them to smoke. She lightened it with lighter, "He wasn't lying"

"How can we so sure ma'am", Shirke asked with confusion.

"Wo janta hai hum Kate se counter question karenge to why would he lie?", She smoke the puff and released them.

Asha the constable looked at her, "then Raizada?"

Raizada, ghum phir ke wahi le jati hai investigation.", She extinguished the cigarette on the ashe tray.
