Epilogue
Whenever Shrutakirti would visit Ayodhya, she would sit before the golden statue of Seeta and talk to it for hours on end.
"Why did you leave if you had a choice?" she would ask.
In her mind, sometimes Seeta would answer, "Why do we eat, when we have the option to starve?"
Shrutakirti would laugh, "Are you comparing living with brother Rama to death?"
"No!" Seeta would say, "Living with Rama is better than all the pleasures even heaven has to offer. But yes, living with Maharaja Rama, the King of Ayodhya, is definitely a little difficult." They would laugh together.
Then Shrutakirti would say, "It's not fair! You left me to find out the rights and wrongs of being a queen all by myself! You didn't even give me any advice!" Seeta would reply, "But you are an amazing queen! To be fair, you have been a queen for longer than I have! What can I possibly teach you that you don't already know?"
"Say Seete, isn't it a little sad that we never got to grow old together?"
Seeta would stare back her smiling ever so slightly.
Shrutakirti would then light incense before Seeta's gold statue and then return to her palace of stone, faraway in Mathura.
