Chapter 4

The next day, Harak Singh gets disturbing news. One of the cops meets Harak Singh.

Harak: What are you guys doing? Vedant had burnt the girl from his kotha with her lover, and you guys could not do anything.

Inspector: I know. But Vedant is a wealthy person. He is capable of manipulating people on his side. If it was only Vedant, it might have been a separate case. I suspect that one of the cops in the police department is involved in that racket. We are investigating that.

Harak: If that is the case, then army rule would be perfect. The best thing is to shoot him at sight.

Harman sees the conversation and takes Rs. 100/- from Harak Singh's pocket without his knowledge.

He ignores the college lectures as he thinks about his family problems and Soumya. He meets his friends during the break. All of them go to Mallika's kotha. He had taken 

Harman overhears Varun torturing Soumya as she was annoying his clients.

Mallika: What is that are you doing? Are you going to kill her?

Varun: Yes, I am going to kill her. She has been spoiling our business ever since she came here. 

Mallika: Calm down! She is new to this environment. Once she gets used to the atmosphere in this place, everything would be fine.

Varun: Vedant asks me. What should I answer him?

Mallika: Leave it to me. I will give him an answer.

She comforted Soumya and said, "Don't cry, my child. If these tears had so much strength, the wh would have got washed out long back."

Varun leaves.

Harman is looking for the girl who was crying.

Mallika meets Harman.

Mallika: Are you coming here for the first time?

Harman: No, I come here every day.

Mallika: If you are confused about choosing a girl, I can help you.

Mallika shows him all the rooms.

Finally, she shows Soumya's room to Harman and leaves.

Harman sees Soumya and recollects that he had seen her on another bus.

He takes a glass and fills it with water, and extends his hand.

Soumya takes the glass of water.

Both share an eyelock.

Harman gets mesmerized by her innocence and beauty. He decides to free her from that place and make him his wife.

Soumya finds a ray of hope in Harman.

Harman: Are you okay now?

Soumya painfully nods.

Harman sees that.

Harman: My name is Harman Singh. What is your name?

Soumya: What will you do with my name?

Harman: If I don't know your name, how will I know & understand you?

Soumya: Where do you live?

Harman: I live in Juhu, Mumbai.

Soumya: I don't know the place.

Harman: Juhu is famous for its beach & sea.

Soumya: Do you live in the sea?

Harman: What a logic, Tarana? How can anybody live in the sea? My house is near the beach.

Soumya: My name is not Tarana. These people gave me that name.

Harman: If Tarana isn't your name, what is your name?

Soumya: My name is Soumya.

Harman: Nice name. I have brought something for you.

He takes out a hairpin and gives it to Soumya.

Harman: If you are accepting the gift, it means you have received my friendship.

Soumya accepts Harman's gift.

Harman: Thank you for accepting my gift.

Soumya: I am accepting the gift on one condition.

Harman: I am ready for your condition.

Soumya: When you come here, you won't give me any gift.

Harman: Fine. I will come again. Bye for now.

Soumya: Bye.

Harman reached his house.

Harak Singh had found out that Rs.100 is missing in his pocket.

Harak: Have you taken out Rs.100 from my pocket?

Harman is speechless.

Harak: I want an answer.

He is about to beat Harman. Preeto comes into the picture.

Preeto: He needs money; that's why he took it.

Harak: I know that he needs money for loafing around. But the son of an army man cannot loaf around. Hereafter, no pocket money for Harman. If you help him, then you will see the other side of me.

Harman goes to his room and starts doing his workouts.

The next day, Harman comes to meet Soumya in the college. He sees her crying yet again.

Harman sees the wounds that Soumya had incurred because of Varun.

Harman: OMG, Has Varun hit you again? Is he a human being? 

Soumya: That's is my fate.

Harman: Who said it's your fate? When you move out of this place, you will see that the world is big and beautiful. 

Soumya: Varun won't allow.

Harman: I will break his head. I will show you the world.

Soumya: Don't ask Varun. Ask permission from Mallika.

Harman meets Mallika and Varun.

Harman: I want to take Tarana out.

Varun: What? 

He comes to beat Harman.

Harman: I have just asked for permission.

Varun: Do you want to take her freely?

Harman: Whatever is the amount, I am ready to pay.

Varun: You have to pay us Rs. 2000/- 

Harman: I don't have money. I have to arrange for the amount.

Varun: Fine, come to us with the money.

Harman leaves.

He then decides to earn his living to support himself and Soumya. Harman takes up the job of a taxi driver.
