A prank 😂
They had reached India a few days ago and Sanyogita admitted Ariyan[her nephew]in the renewable hospital for the treatment,Prithvi was also with her .He frequently visited the hospital and day by day he also became very close to Ariyan.
Prithvi hurried down the stairs of the Malhotra mansion, his casual outfit a stark contrast to the formal attire he usually wore. His DadiMaa, seated in the living room, looked up and intercepted him, her eyes narrowing slightly.
"Prithvi, beta, kahi ja raha hai?" (Prithvi, son, where are you off to?) she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of curiosity.
Prithvi paused, his hand on the banister, and replied, "Woh, DadiMaa, I have some urgency, so I have to go." (That, Grandmother, I have some urgent work, so I need to leave.)
His DadiMaa's eyes sparkled with interest. "Beta, aisi kya jaruri kaam hai?" (Son, what's so important that you can't even take a Sunday off?)
Prithvi shifted slightly, his eyes darting towards the door before returning to his grandmother's gaze. "Woh, actually, DadiMaa, my clients are waiting for me," he said, his tone polite but firm.
His DadiMaa raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. "Beta, yai konsi client hai jo tujhe Sunday ko bhi free nahi rehne deta?" (Son, what kind of client is it that doesn't even give you Sundays off?)
Prithvi hesitated, his eyes scanning the room before settling on his grandmother's face. "W...woh, DadiMaa, woh darasal kuch important kam hai!" (W...that, Grandmother, it's really important work!)
"Padh beta, aaj toh tu bilkul bhi nahi ja sakta?" (Sit down, son, you absolutely cannot go anywhere today?) his DadiMaa said, her voice firm but laced with a hint of excitement.
Prithvi's eyes widened in wonder. "Kyuu?" (Why?) he asked, his tone was curious.
His DadiMaa's face broke into a warm smile. "Beta, mein toh tujhe batana hi bhool gaye, maine tere liye ladki dekhi hai." (Son, I forgot to tell you, I've found a girl for you.)
Prithvi's eyes rolled heavenward, his expression incredulous. "La...a...a...ladki...kaisi ladki?" (A...a...girl...what kind of girl?) he stuttered, his voice laced with disbelief.
His DadiMaa's expression turned serious, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Haan beta, aur woh aaj tujhe dekhne aane wali hai." (Yes, son, and she's coming to meet you today.)
Prithvi's face contorted in shock. "But, DadiMaa, mein shaadi...aapne mujhe pehle kyu nahi bataya?" (But, Grandmother, I'm getting married...why didn't you tell me earlier?)
His DadiMaa's voice took on a matter-of-fact tone. "Beta, sabki shaadi hoti hai, tere Dadaji ki bhi hui thi, tere Papa ki bhi hui hai, ab teri bari hai beta." (Son, everyone gets married, your grandfather did, your father did, now it's your turn.)
Prithvi's eyes darted around the room, his mind racing. "Padh DadiMaa, mein shaadi abhi...nahi...mein...mein...woh?" (But, Grandmother, I'm not getting married now...I...I...what?)
"Tu bakri ki tarah hai, mein mein kya kar raha hai, teri shaadi wohi hogi jo mein chahungi, yahi is ghar ka niyam hai, aur tujhe ye mana hoga!" (You're like a sheep, I'll decide what's best for you, your marriage will be arranged according to my wishes, that's the rule of this house, and you'll have to obey!) his DadiMaa exclaimed, her voice stern and authoritative.
Prithvi tried to protest, "DadiMaa..." but she had already stormed off, leaving him feeling frustrated and helpless.
The rest of the day was a blur as Prithvi's cousins, Ariyan and Anushka, teased him mercilessly about the upcoming bride-seeing ceremony. "Hey, Prithvi, get ready to be shackled!" Ariyan joked, chuckling. "Yeah, you're going to be a married man soon!" Anushka added, giggling.
Prithvi retreated to his room, his mind racing with thoughts of how to convince his DadiMaa to listen to him. He loved and respected her deeply, but he couldn't accept this arranged marriage without a fight. He needed a plan to persuade her, but his mind was a blank.
As the early evening sun cast a warm glow over the Malhotra mansion, the main doorbell rang, signaling the arrival of the guests. Anushka burst into Prithvi's room, her voice excited. "Bhaiya, woh log agaye hai. Aapko niche bula rahe hai." (Brother, they've arrived. They're calling you downstairs.)
Prithvi hesitated, but after repeated calls, he reluctantly emerged from his room. As he entered the living room, he was greeted by a middle-aged couple, who exuded an air of affluence. The lady, dressed in an elegant saree, and her husband, sporting a designer suit, introduced themselves with warm smiles.
Beside them stood a young girl, likely the same age as Anushka, 21, clad in a trendy western outfit, her jeans and top a stark contrast to the traditional attire of the older couple. Prithvi's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he turned his attention to the couple.
After the introductions, the couple asked Prithvi a series of questions, their tone polite but inquisitive. As the conversation flowed, they revealed that their daughter, the young girl beside them, was a modern and independent individual, who wished to ask Prithvi some personal questions in private.
Prithvi at first took aback but he agreed with them as he at least told them that he already loved someone else.He went to the garden where he saw a girl who was wearing a sari with hair designated very skilfully with white bell flowers and some jewelries .He did not know where to start but he closed his eyes first then inhaled a deep breath and startedâI don't know how you will react after hearing this, but I already have someone in my life, and I love her more than anything in my life ,except her I can't marry another girl,I am really sorry !âHe confessed
Just as Prithvi was about to turn away, a familiar voice called out, "Suchh!" He spun around, his heart skipping a beat as his eyes met Sanyogita's.
A radiant smile spread across his face as he took in the sight of her. "Sanyo, tum!" (Sanyo, you!)
For the first time, he saw her in a sari, and he was struck by her breathtaking beauty. The more he gazed at her, the more he was captivated by her charisma. Her elegance was mesmerizing, and he found himself unable to look away.
A small bindi on her forehead added a touch of subtlety to her features, while the golden jhumkas on her ears sparkled in the fading light. Her glossy lipstick and kajal-defined eyes made her gaze even more captivating, and the black mascara accentuated her thick eyelashes, making them even more alluring.
Sanyogita, however, felt a flutter in her chest as Prithvi's eyes roamed over her face, his gaze intense and admiring. She looked away, her cheeks flushing with shyness, unable to meet his gaze.
He moved close to her and held her chin on his hand. She was blushing, keeping her gaze on the ground. He kissed on her forehead,Put a kajal tilak on her neckâMeri Sanyo ko kisi ki nazar na lage, meri bhi nahiâ
She smiled.
âBut, tell me what are happening here?ââhe asked her surprisingly
Then heard the giggling of Anuskha ,his DadiMaa,and the Ariyan behind
All of them were in the living room, sitting on the sofa ,and taking newly fried samosas on a rainy day.
Prithvi came to know that these all had happened by the plan of Anuskha and DadiMaa.
Flashback:
Anuska came in the room of Prithvi for some importance work suddenly Prithviâs phone buzzed ,as Prithvi was in Bathroom,so she was going to received the call, then her eyes fell on the screen where there was a picture of a beautiful girl and the name showed on the screen wasâJAANâ
Anuskha felt something fishy so she received the call bit before that warped a cloth around it so that she couldn't recognise it was male or female voice and but changed her voice
On the other side on the phone
âPrithvi, tum kab a rahe ho?ââmein kab se tumhara intezar kar rahi hoonâ
âHaan jaan bas aa raha hoon, waise tum kardhi kahan hoo?â
âWhat?tumhi ne toh restaurant ka naam batya ta ,okay Hotel rose ke pass ,near sea-beach,â
âOkay ,sorry jaan,I..I will come soon..Love you jaanâ
âLove you too,bye,sambhal ke aanaâ
âHm,of course jaanâ
After that the call had ended,Anuskha deleted the call from the received list
She visited the restaurant to meet Sanyogita along with DadiMaa,after that they made all the plans,Prithvi was going to meet her in the Restaurant but couldn't find her.
He called her several times but she did not receive his calls, moreover she informed him that she got hurt by his negligence ,and did not want to talk to him.Prithvi after a lot of effort managed to convince her and made another plan.
End of the flashback,
âOh okay, now everything is cleared to me,But you people are very much smartâHe remarked by exhaling a sigh of relief
âSmart toh hum hai âsaid by DadiMaa and Anuskha together
âPadh yei brideâs side [indicating towards the girl with her parents]âhe inquired
âMein bata ti hoonâsaid by Prithviâs Mamiji[Anuska and Ariyanâs mother]
Everybody looked at her.She told them that both the husband and wife were her elder brother and daughter-in-law,and the girl was their own daughter and also Anuskhaâs friend .As Prithvi saw them when he was only 10 years old last time, and they were in London for business purposes and came to india around a few days ago.
âToh Mumsy aap bhi,in logo ke saath mile hue!â he had an unbelievable expression on his face .
âAre meine kuch nahi kya, bhaiya bhabbi milene aane wale the toh ai soon kar teri DadiMaa aur Anuskha ne milkar yai plan banaya ,mein kuch nahi jantiâshe grinned
âek pal ke liye mujhe laga tha aaj hi Dadi meri shaadi na karwa deââPrithvi revealed
Everybody burst out in laughter
After that everybody teases Prithvi and Sanyogita during dinner, they all make fun of Prithvi how they made a fool of him.DadiMaa, Anushka everyone was very impressed by Sanyogita .
As the night drew to a close, Prithvi dropped Sanyogita off at her home, the warm glow of the porch lights casting a romantic ambiance. With a teasing glint in his eye, he said, "Sanyo, kitna acha hota na ki hum dono ki shadi jaldi ho jati, toh mujhe tumhe yu roj roj drop nahi kar na padha aur tum mere paas hamesha rehti." (Sanyo, wouldn't it be great if we got married soon, so I wouldn't have to drop you off every day and you could always be with me.)
Sanyogita raised an eyebrow, her voice laced with mock annoyance. "Mene todi na kaha tha mujhe chonde aao." (I didn't say I wanted to be caught.)
Prithvi chuckled, his intentions clear. "Sanyo, mein toh bas tumhari help kar raha tha. But I must say, I love the way you shine in the night light. You look like a diamond." (Sanyo, I was just trying to help you. But I must say, I love the way you shine in the night light. You look like a diamond.)
Sanyogita playfully rolled her eyes. "And I'm sure you're a master gemologist, Raj." (And I'm sure you're a master gemologist, Raj.)
Prithvi grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Maybe I am. Maybe I can help you sparkle even brighter." (Maybe I am. Maybe I can help you sparkle even brighter.)
Before he could make his move, Sanyogita had already slipped away, her eyes sparkling with mischief. She stuck out her tongue and ran off, leaving Prithvi shaking his head in exasperation.
"Yeh ladki mujhe pagal kar degi," he muttered, raking his hand through his hair. (This girl will drive me crazy.)
As he climbed into his car and started the engine, he glanced up to see Sanyogita waving at him from her balcony, a playful smile still on her face. Prithvi couldn't help but grin, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of her.
