Chapter 3

Knock knock! Sid heard a knock on his car window. He quickly got down from the car and found one of his school friends, whom he was waiting for from last 15 minutes. 

"Oh god! Siddhant! After a long time" vimal, that guy exclaimed in excitement. "Sorry for keeping you to wait".

"It's okay. And do you know where is Akash and his family now?" Asked sid with a hope. 

"It seems like you weren't in contact with your best friend too all these years" vimal analysed. 

"Where is he now?" Sid urged.

"When we were in graduation, his grand parents were died in a row".

"What?" Sid was too shocked to hear the news. Akash had lost his parents in a very young age. Since then he was staying with his grand parents. Even sid was too close to them as he used to spend most of the time at akash's house. Sid's parents were always busy with their business works and all. They never really spend time with sid and that made him to feel distant from his own parents. He met akash in his junior kg and ever since they both became best of friends. Whenever they got time, they both used to go to Akash's house to play. Even akash's grand parents were used to treat sid like their own. And this sudden news of them being left the world, made sid sad. 

"..Akash completed his graduation here along with us. Then he left delhi without saying anything and never returned back" vimal continued.

"And his sister?" Collecting himself together from the trance, sid asked. 

"She might be with him" vimal replied. 

Then sid returned back to his home and settled down in couch with a deep thinking. 

He was sure of one thing that wherever akash was, roli too would be definitely with him. Unlike akash, who was from a middle class family, roli was a daughter of one of the businessmans in vrindavan. She was born and brought up in luxury with all the happiness. But, that happiness had lasted only until the truth that her dad had been hiding for years, finally unveiled. Her dad had an affair with the other woman and even had a kid with her. When roli's mother got to know about it, she was so broken that she suffered from a heart attack and died. After that incident, everything had changed in roli's life. As a kid, though she didn't understand what had exactly happened, but she did know that her father was the reason for her mom's death. And she started hating him since then. Roli's mom's parents took guardianship of her and brought her to delhi. 

And now even her grand parents were no more in this world. Only roli and akash were left in their family. At this thought, sid cursed himself for leaving them and go to abroad. He might hadn't stopped the happenings but he would've been there with them when they needed. And now he didn't even know where they were and how they were. He just hoped for them to be happy wherever they were and determined to meet them very soon. 

When he was thinking all these, he got a phone call from his secretary.

"What?" Sid asked in an icy cold tone after answering the call. 

"Sir... About our new venture" his secretary, sumit, started nervously after hearing his cold tone.

"Make arrangements" sid said, indifferently and hung up the call. 

On the other end of the call, sumit was surprised at his behavior. He wondered thinking why his boss wanted to start a new venture when he was already earning a good amount in US. But, he got no guts to say anything than following his boss's orders. 

But, what he didn't know was that his boss had never wanted to be settled in abroad, earning money. All he ever wanted was to be with his roli and have a happy family with her. That was the reason why he returned to India and starting business here so that he could be happily settled with the girl he loved with all his heart.

After hanging up the call, sid's eyes accidentally fell on a photo printed on the news paper kept before him. It was a photo of a group of police officers. In that group, he felt one guy so familiar. Taking it in to his hands, he observed carefully. 

Yes, it was him, his best friend, "Akash!" Sid mumbled as he carefully examined the photo. 

Sid remembered that akash had always wanted to be a police officer. He felt so happy that his friend had finally achieved his goal.
