Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai: Rohit stands up for Armaan, tells Kaveri and Vidya to drown in ‘chullu bhar paani’

In tonight's episode of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Abhira is seen struggling with intense pain due to her foot injury. Manisha soon finds out about her condition and offers to take her to the doctor, but Abhira refuses. Concerned for her well-being, Manisha advises her to take proper care and hands her a painkiller. She also resolves to check on Abhira regularly. Later, Abhira receives an invitation to a South Indian engagement ceremony. Wanting to attend the event, she decides against taking the painkiller, hoping to enjoy the celebration without its effects.

Meanwhile, the Poddar family is left astonished as their recent issues seem to have been resolved unexpectedly. Kaveri is puzzled, wondering who could have stepped in to fix things so effortlessly. Rohit, noticing her reaction, questions why she is so surprised and firmly takes Armaan's side. Frustrated, he expresses his disappointment in a dramatic manner. He takes some water in his hand, and presents it to Kaveri and Vidya, pointedly reminding them of the well-known saying about what should be done with "chullu bhar paani" in such disgraceful moments. His statement leaves everyone in shock. Enraged by his words, Kaveri furiously throws the water at him before walking away, while the rest of the family watches in stunned silence. Ruhi confronts Rohit about his sudden cold demeanour towards the family, to which he expresses his long-standing frustration. He states that Kaveri and Vidya have been manipulating Armaan for far too long, and it is time to put an end to it. Rohit further declares that the Poddars do not deserve a selfless son like Armaan. Determined to change things, he vows to become the son the family truly needs. Feeling bad for Armaan, Rohit decides to challenge Kaveri's rigid rules and ensure both Armaan and Abhira get the respect they deserve.

Elsewhere, Shivani helps Abhira drape a saree, but Abhira insists that it would look better on Shivani and suggests she wear it instead. While waiting for Armaan, Abhira is pleasantly surprised to hear that he has secured a job. Armaan reveals that he has started working at a garage, which excites both Abhira and Shivani. Shivani praises him, emphasising that no job should be considered small or insignificant. Armaan then surprises them with gifts—he presents a saree to Shivani and is taken aback upon realising that he unknowingly picked Vidya's favourite colour for her. Shivani happily decides to wear the saree.

Armaan also gifts a pair of footwear to Abhira, but she refuses to wear them. In an attempt to conceal her injury, she playfully argues with him, leaving him puzzled by her reaction. Meanwhile, at the Poddar house, Vidya prepares Armaan's favourite dish. When she notices Manisha returning home, she asks where she has been. Manisha shares that she visited Abhira and Armaan, shedding light on their current living conditions. She also mentions that Abhira is concealing her injury as she cannot afford a doctor's visit. Vidya then shifts the conversation to Shivani, leaving Manisha surprised that she is still preoccupied with her.

Later, Abhira ultimately decides to wear the footwear Armaan gifted her, wanting to make him happy. To ease her pain, she takes the painkiller before heading to the function. During the event, Armaan and Abhira share a dance. Armaan soon notices that she is limping and assumes it is due to the new footwear. However, he begins to suspect that she is keeping something from him. As the evening progresses, Armaan discovers that Abhira has been secretly taking painkillers. He is left shocked upon realising the extent of her injury.
