Women's Day sure means different things to different people, and well, some women stand by their beliefs as strongly as ever. This Women's day, we reached out to popular television star Jasmin Bhasin, and asked her a little about the day, and some more. Being true to herself, she only said what she truly feels and only more.

Ask her what does this day mean for her and to what extent does women empowerment matter to her and she tells us,

''We don't need a day to celebrate women, for me every day is a women's day. Every day women challenge their capabilities and outdo themselves. When you empower a women, you empower a family, you empower a society. There are things that men have been doing since ages, and it's the women who have taken up newer roles and accepted newer challenges and have done wonders. Women empowerment is as important as gender equality and I feel as a country we have progressed in both but we have a long way to go.''

We also asked her if there's one thing she could change about how women are seen in the industry, what would that be, and she said,

''One thing I always felt that could change in the industry has already changed. I always felt women can do much more than become arm candies, and today we see them play such powerful and impactful roles. Today, a show or a film doesn't ride on a male actor's shoulder, a female actor is given equal importance and equal screen time. However, sometimes, women are still shown as the bechaaris, I feel that should stop.''

Well, truly a long way to go, isn't it? Here's wishing everyone a happy Women's day!

On the work front, Jasmin is gearing up for her Punjabi movie debut with the film Honeymoon, go starring Gippy Grewal.
