Have you guys got any idea that Manasi Parekh aka Gulaal from Star Plus has sung a song in the show in an episode?
Surprised? It is true.
Manasi Parekh talks to TellyBuzz's What If that she would have been a singer had she not become an actor...
What If... with Manasi Parekh
"I would have been a singer if not
an actor and I have been trained in Classical Music. Music has always
been close to my heart and before I was doing Gulaal, I was the lead
singer for a Band called as Soul Sutra. We used to do corporate shows in
Delhi, Kolkatta etc. But once I started doing the show, I could not
continue my singing. But once I did sing a song for the show, but that
was a small part for a sequence.
My grandmother was a good singer and she has even trained herself in Rabindra Sangeet, a Bengali style of music that was developed by Rabindranath Tagore. When I was studying in New York I did a small course in Western Classical Music. I personally had an interesting experience while I tried my hands on Oprah. It has techniques of breath control and singing from the stomach. When I was studying in New York I did a small course on Western Classical Music. It has different aspects like Singing from the head, stomach, chest etc. There are different singers like Soprano, Mezzo Soprano where I am a Meezzo Soprano. I have a Guitar and a Tanpura at home which I play reasonably well.
I love Kailash Kher, Mohit Chauhan and of course my husband Parthiv Gohil, as male singers and in female I like Sunidhi Chauhan. Among the Western singers I like Eric Clapton and Adele.
Now that I am free, I would like to start my Riyaaz. In future I would love to collaborate music and acting and do something creative."
