Vijayendra Kumeria on the surge in TRPs of Teri Meri Doriyaann, the upcoming love triangle in the show & more

Vijayendra Kumeria, a well-known face in the television industry, has made a significant mark over the past few years with his roles in hit shows like 'Udaan,' 'Naagin,' and 'Mose Chhal Kiye Jaye.' Currently, he's earning praise for his role in Star Plus' popular series 'Teri Meri Doriyaann.' In an exclusive conversation with India Forums, Vijayendra shares his thoughts on the show's recent surge in viewership, discusses the prevalent trend of 'love triangles' in the TV industry, and touches upon the delayed confession between Angad and Sahiba.

Congratulations on your show breaking into the Top 5 rankings. How does it feel?

We're all thrilled, and I'm personally very pleased too. I think it's primarily due to the high-intensity moments in the show. The part where Sahiba's death and Angad's refusal to let her go captivated the audience's attention. As an actor, I had a chance to perform. The viewers were intrigued by this crucial plot point, which contributed to the show's success is what I believe. 

Your performance after Sahiba's death has garnered much acclaim. Can you tell us about the preparation for that particular scene?

Honestly, I aimed for a natural performance in that scene. I wanted to do something different this time. While I've enacted similar scenes in the past, this time, I strived for authenticity. We spent around 3-4 days shooting the entire sequence, and I gave it my all. I chose to keep it understated and genuine rather than going for a loud portrayal and I think the audience loved that. 

The audience has been eagerly waiting for Sahiba and Angad's confession of love. When can we expect this to happen?

Well, I wish I knew the answer to that. Every time Sahiba and Angad are on the verge of confessing their feelings, a new misunderstanding or twist emerges, putting their confession or proposal on hold. Despite their awareness of their feelings, they haven't been able to express them yet.

The current track of the show is paving a way for an upcoming love triangle. Your production house has helmed a very popular show; Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, which is also a love triangle. And if we look at the recent trend on television, every other successful show has picked up on the trend of love triangles. Do you think it is becoming the key for a successful show? 

I can't speak for the makers' intentions, but I believe the love triangle is just one facet of our story. Our show has multiple layers, including family drama and other elements. While a love triangle may be part of the narrative, it's not the entire story. Our plot has more depth to it. Regarding the love triangle trend, it may work because the creators have likely done their research.

What can the audience expect in the upcoming track of the show?

Viewers can anticipate a lot of drama. If you've seen the latest promo, you already have a glimpse of what's in store. Sahiba is leaving the Brar mansion, and the audience can look forward to how Seerat reacts to this, whether Sahiba moves on or returns to Angad.

 Give us a little insight into the upcoming developments in the show?

Absolutely, I'm quite excited about the twists and turns in the upcoming track. It promises to be an engaging and dramatic ride for the audience.
