Vidya Balan at Film Launch of 'Ek Albela'

Actress Vidya Balan grooved to "Shola jo bhadke" at a song launch of her debut Marathi film "Ekk Albela", in which she portrays late actress Geeta Bali.

The song was originally picturised on Geeta Bali and Bhagwan Dada, and a recreated version of it has been made for "Ekk Albela".

Vidya exuded an old world charm in a plain peach sari.

Talking about playing Geeta Bali, Vidya said: "I have been a huge fan of Geeta Bali... She played with her eyes, fingers, hands and wrist beautifully. Her songs have more to do with her expressions and smile."

"I tried to use her nuances and I hope I am successful."

The actress was last seen onscreen in "Hamari Adhuri Kahani".

Her Marathi film "Ekk Albela" traces the journey of Bhagwan Dada's film career as an actor and director, and Vidya's role will be credited as a special appearance.

Bhagwan Dada faced a lot of obstacles while making the musical "Albela" which had Geeta Bali in the lead.

Directed by Shekhar Sartandal, "Ekk Albela" features Mangesh Desai in the lead role.

In a poster of the film, Vidya is clad in a sari, and stands back-to-back with Mangesh.
