Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who has been a force to reckon with recently found herself in the crosshairs of an online imposter. Despite Instagram's continuous efforts to enhance security, fake profiles continue to plague social media platforms. Vidya Balan took to her official Instagram handle on January 19 to address the issue and alert her fans about a fraudulent account operating under her name.

Expressing her concern, Vidya shared, "Hello everyone. First, it was a phone number, and now someone is using this account @vidya.balan.pvt and reaching out to people as me. My team and I have, of course, reported it, but if you can do report the account as well, it will be of great help."

The imposter went beyond creating a fake account; they reportedly reached out to Vidya's friends and colleagues, attempting to deceive them by posing as the talented actress. In response, Vidya requested her followers not to entertain any communication from the fake account and urged them to report and block it to curb its reach.
