Veteran actress, Tabassum who was known for her show Phool Khile Hai Gulshan Gulshan died of a cardiac arrest on Friday.

Veteran actress Tabassum passed away due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 78. Her son Hoshang Govil disclosed that she she died on Friday evening. The news of her her death has come as a shocker to her family members and the fraternity.

According to Hoshang, who talked with a leading portail said that 

“She passed away last night around 8.40 PM due to cardiac arrest at a hospital. She was absolutely healthy. We shot for our show 10 days ago. And were about to shoot again next week. It happened all of a sudden." He added, "She had gastro problem. Was admitted to a hospital here. She was later discharged but was admitted again yesterday. She had two cardiac arrests within two minutes."

Last year, Tabassum recovered from COVID-19 after almost ten days in the hospital. Her son had also denied rumours that she had been given an Alzheimer's diagnosis at the time. He said that he was disgusted that individuals can disseminate her photo and establish a rumour that she has Alzheimer's. This is 100 percent false. She is free of diabetes and heart problems, he had mentioned in a statement earlier.

In 1947, she made her acting debut as Baby Tabassum, a little child. From 1972 to 1993, she served as host of the renowned Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan programme on Doordarshan. Tabassum debuted in a movie as a kid actor in 1947 with Nargis, then appeared in Mera Suhaag, Manjhdhar, and Bari Behen (1949). When Deedar afterwards (1951). Her final movie role was in Swarg (1990).
